I'm detecting a hint of sass young man.

The purpose of the thread could be described as food for thought. I have noticed a pattern of content in 2.0, and I felt it was a important enough subject to share my view on what I hope is not a repeat of what could be described as "Cookie Cutter" Patch notes in 3.0. I understand many people do, and do not share my views. I understand I may get a lash-back from others on my view, but only through criticism and feedback from the community can the game be improved.

Also I just noticed I have not updated my signature since 1.0 o.O

Is this bad? We have garaunteed large chunks of content on a regular 3 month basis. That's a hell of alot more than I can say for ANY other Mmo in existence.

On a side note. Along with those formulaic content releases they also tend to introduce new features to the game as they finish it.

Others may like the set pattern of content, I would personally prefer releases of content to which add different paths of character progression. Also with the first expansion released, and the game now going from 1.0 ->2.0 -> 3.0 I may have different expectations being in a finished state than others. As well as the definition of Finished can differ drastically from person to person. example. 2.x was the finished version and 3 is a expansion to the finished game adding new content. example2. The game is never in a finished state as long as we pay for a subscription content should be able to be progressed though.

I think you may have misunderstood what I meant by finished. I meant in the sense that when they finished working on frontlines they added it In addition to the normal patch formulae or when they finished working on gold saucer they added it the same way.

Maybe if you'd had some kind of rational (or even just existent) idea or opinion for me to respond to, I would have. So far it just seems you're annoyed by the fact that we get regular content updates at predictable intervals.

...That's not actually your point, is it?

First time i see a complaint about a steady release of new content. If you dont like new things go play FFXV that is a finished product that will not have new things

You know the world is going downhill when you have people upset that new content gets released fairly regularly.

Ahh I see, I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. A perhaps an another few paths to which obtaining highest level gear would help lead to a resolve of the cookie cutter pattern to obtain gear.

Ok.............what is up with some people on here.........they supposedly played ff14 since start of 2.0- the basic design of it has not changed., have multiple subs....they have all the knowledge of what HW is and will be up to and including path 3.1... They preorder it maybe in the ubber expensive collectors edition. They play through all of 3.0.

then they create threads how they want to the game to be something TOTALLY different...lol

its like WHAT!? if you want something different ...ummm./... play a different game.

If you're burn it out..then turn it off...take a break geeezzzz

I enjoy content releases but prefer to work different paths to obtaining what could be labeled as "End-game" Gear

All these are good additions to the game, I may be mistaken but to my knowledge hunt currency could be spent to upgrade currency gear, but was not a different method of obtaining highest level gear.(not saying it should be) content which matches the reward of raid/upgrade currency is something a lot of people see as a lacking flaw.

I've said this before, any 'alternative means of providing highest level gear' will then be expected to be up-kept the same manner as the current content throughout the life of the game. You're asking them to dedicate themselves to a hell of a lot more lifetime workload in that regard. So be patient, rather than satirical.

It also has to match the highest level raid in terms of difficulty and dedication, otherwise it becomes the path of least resistance and players will ignore its equivalent. That would be hell and a hand-basket to balance - to say nothing of doubeling the workload for endgamers looking for BIS.

This is a lot for a developer to consider. We may end up getting more options for side-grades to second-tier equipment to expand endgame, but as far as the 'highest' gear? It's probably going to remain the Savage raid.

It's just too unfeasible to properly implement - an that sucks because I'd like a wider 'max ilvl' endgame as well.

God this irritates me beyond belief. "Play a different game" is the single most idiotic statement you can make to a compliant thread, in my opinion. Don't you think they would be playing a different game if there was one that fucking met their requirements? Maybe this is the closest game they have found to lining up with what they desire from a game and would like it to have some changes to seal the deal.
