Yea i noticed this, every cave everywhere is just a hall with a dead-end sometimes with a little pond, maybe a mob or 2, kinda disapointing every time i walk into one expecting anything else xD
caves near the halatali > broken water beast tribe has a npc inside saying you cant go any further....
Some caves in La Noscea stretch on for quite some distance, some even open out to a cliff edge (perfect to use as a nice quiet fishing spot :D), there's a cave just north of Camp Bloodshore that's full of wights too, was kinda surprised running into that.
Also if you look around East Thanalan there's some quite interesting caves there, big ones with ponds in them and 2 seperate floors.
So it's true that many caves do look very similar, but if you know where to look, there's some that are unique.
hmmmm too realism caves we have in eorzea, need more fantasy like caves! xD
Thal's Respite still needs a purpose!
A Cave thread?
Hahah, too bad =D
Man, I miss the feeling being into King Ramperre...
It's not just the caves. It's just more of the lazy copy/paste seen everywhere in the game.
Try out Deathsmiles, it's epicly-major-super-mega-hyper-brilliantly-awesomez!!!! :D
@Akira_Tenshi: I keep hearing people going on about copy/pasting, but so far the only thing I've seen in the game that looks identical is the caves, all the rest of the enviroment is unique, each rock is different, each lump in the road holds no similarity to another, each mountain has it's own shape and size. Now if they said the areas looked 'samey' then yeah, but then west La Noscea would look the same as east La Noscea, because it's... well... La Noscea. It's like saying Arizona was mother nature copy/pasting a barren landscape, or that God was bored so he copy/pasted his way across the african sahara.
Plus try and name an MMO that doesn't commit the crime of copy/pasting. Trying to make EVERYTHING in the game unique would require an almost ridiculous amount of development time AND take up a shed-load of harddrive space to account for the massive increase in textures, details and enviroments.
Also no, there's a lot more caves in the world that are dark depressing and grim places that have nothing in them other than blackness. There's very few 'interesting' or 'beautifull' caves in reality, but those are the only ones we see on television because they're the only ones worth documenting.
totally agree
after things settle down with the magnitude of the updates, i would like to see a good chunk of dedication to making the world more subtle and interesting
I want to play it Konata! Too bad I don't have an Xbox360, neither a PS3...
Yes. Completely agree.
Caves are an eyesore in this game compared to XI. Too much copy paste. They just lack so much ..everything. I don't feel the slightest urge to explore them.
They could be way nicer, bigger, livelier. let's see..
Ordelle's caves, King Ranperre's Tomb, Eldieme Necropolis, Fei Yin, Gustav tunnel, Quicksand caves, kuftal tunnel, Labyrinth of Onzozo, Newton Movalpolos, Temple of Uggalepih, cave in Uleguerand Range.
Each had it's own unique flavour.
I hope major dedication and priority goes to Eorzea asap after these core patches in making it a more interesting and enjoyable adventurous world and that the redesign of the world comes through nicely.
Come on SE, surely you can surpass your previous work..!
I bought the deluxe version, comes with 2 extra discs that have the sountrack and a near endless supply of desktop accessories, like mouse pointers, wallpapers, screensavers, icons...
Took about half a day of constant play just to get good enough to complete it, and trying to get the achievement for completing it without losing a life is almost impossible XD
There's rumours of it being ported to PC through Steam though so you may not need a 360 or PS3 to play it soon ;)
Actually... I think I'm gonna put the soundtrack on now... >.>'
