Increase Drop-Rates/Amounts for HW Mobs

Greetings,

I think that the title says it all but I'll elaborate a bit. I think that the drop-rates and/or drop amounts for mobs from Heavensward areas needs to be increased. I've always been a self sufficient crafter. I think that it's ridiculous that I can spend 15 minutes on BTN and get enough rainbow cotton to make half a stack of rainbow threads. However, I can spend 15 minutes farming mobs and get enough drops to make 4 items. I know that we're trying to force scarcity but that shouldn't just be across a couple classes. ALC and LTW are hit pretty hard by these terrible drop rates, however classes like BSM and WVR get by pretty easily.
The reason I think that it's fair is, pre-Heavensward you could farm probably 50 mobs in 15 minutes, now you can farm about 20 depending on your level.

TL;DR: Increase drop-rates because we're sick of farming mobs for hours

Make friends with a ninja and mug. I swear if I could make my choco a nin and give him mug I would. I would even be willing to start him back at rank 1 because mug was so damned effective today farming chimera manes. Took about 30 minutes (competing with a drk) for my nin friend to snag me a stack of manes. Took me that long to get about 20, and I kill way faster then he does.

Edit: Also 2.0 drop rates were lower then this, but they got increased because people were botting and pos hacking to farm mobs. They essentially killed the markets for those items by increasing drop rates and ammounts dropped. Now we have access to mug and it works quite well.

Guys I noticed this since 2.0 but I'm not sure of it so I'll share it to understand if it is only my impression or not :/

When I kill fastly a mob usually I don't get anything, when I see them die cause of dot (A lot of time I used Tridisaster + Bane + Contagion + Tri-bind) or anyway the fight last very longer then a burn session, usually I get a lot of more items :/

I tried with BLM too, I tried to attack a mob, sleep him attack another, kill the first and then the 2nd...
Only I noticed it?

Expecially i nthis way usually I obtain more stack of the same item.

To be honest, this sounds entirely like confirmation bias.

RNG is RNG. Your findings most likely just coincidentally supported your idea on how drops work.

Even with mug the drop rate is crazy. The cooldown on it is a bit ridiculous since you have to wait 90 seconds before you can use it again, and regardless of that I've had over 2 dozen kills and maybe 6 skins to show for it. That's pretty pathetic.

Get a DoW/DoM retainer up and send it hunting for skins/etc, only consistent way to get those sort of drops sadly :(

I hope they make a DOL like that one quest where you walk up to drakes and take their scales. I did not kill any of them as I walked behind them and used the quest skill

My main issue is with the Dhalmel camp. 7 Dhalmel spawn in the whole HW area. A whole server relies on those 7 mobs.

Dhalmel leather is used in 88 recipe's, their saliva in another 3 and their meat in another 2.

93 items that rely on those 7 mobs. That feels completely out of proportion to me.

Now I know what many will say. Get a DoW/M retainer and keep sending him out. I don't have that luxury at this time since i made mine FSH and MIN.

I feel this should be resolved like they did the Ornery Karakul, add more spawn locations and elevate the number of hides that can drop at the same time.

the trouble is not the drop rate, but the recipe itself, the fact to ask the LTW to gather 3 skin for 1 leather is ridiculous and needed to be changed... if they don't want to change the drop rate they need to make the LTW recipe of HW work like the one of ARR, in ARR 1 leather = 1 skin! it's idiot and dumb to ask us to gather 3 skin for 1 leather!

as BTN i can gather enough for make 50-60 item with WVR in less of 30-40 minutes, same for the MIN.... but for LTW, in the same time you will gather enough item for make at best 15-20 item max. change are needed.

by the way, something bother me a lot with the craft of HW, i don't feel like we did increase the level max, but more like we continue the end game craft from ARR, it will be nice to think that some people will arrive now and if you make the craft as demanding right of the bat... they will simply not do it. a lot of change are needed for make the craft more interesting and more important, less a pain to create anything that can be changed in the 2 day coming! when you see the item needed for craft gears that can be changed really fast

I will say, from my own experience, that breaking into HW crafting and gathering has been a royal pain. As someone who never shelled out the gil for the max melds on all my stuff I was caught in a loop where I couldn't make better gathering gear because I didn't have the mats, and getting the mats for it was a royal pain for one reason or another. Never mind HQ for any of it. I finally had to get a guildie help me get HQ gear for gathering once I scraped my way to 51.

I'm just gonna level up another hunting retainer and my two them out on ventures non-stop to get these mats. Might even do a third, at least while crafting a lot. XP is just not worth it without any kind of completion bonus and takes too long as mentioned. Good thing is, at this point, nothing else worth spending allied seals on anyway but ventures!

Or just make mug a class class ability...

I think it would work better as a currency system. You'd get mob-specific currency (not 100% drop of course) from each mob you kill, then you could go to an NPC and turn these in for tokens, you can the exchange these tokens at a different NPC in a different town for the drops you wanted.

Bonus Mode: Every mob has a 10% chance to drop a HQ-Currency piece anytime they would normally drop a currency piece (capped weekly) which can be turned in HQ Tokens which can then be turned HQ-Tokens which can be turned in for HQ versions of the item you'd like.

Do I seem salty? I feel like I'm coming off as salty.
