Offering Advice, Gear, and a lot of Gil to New Players

SE is currently running a Recruit a Friend campaign, with cool rewards for both the recruiter and the recruited. To count, the new player needs to enter the recruiter's code before their first monthly payment (by the end of the free time that comes with the game). I'd really love some of the rewards, but my RL friends don't play MMOs, so I'm looking for other options.

If you use my friend recruitment code (or my wife's) and choose to play on the same server as us (Faerie), I will help you get started. I can show you the ropes, give you advice, and make you gear every ~10 levels or so if you want me to. When you subscribe for the first time (after your 30-day trial) and both you and I (or my wife) get our recruitment campaign rewards, I'll also give you 750,000 gil as thanks.

In addition, I'll also give out a 500,000 gil bonus to the first such person to subscribe for 90 days or more total (getting me a new mount), and another 500,000 gil to the first person to subscribe for 150 days or more total (getting me more reward tokens). These bonuses apply both to the first such person who is using one of my codes, and the first such person using one of my wife's. See below for how many people that is currently - if you're the first, and you wind up subscribing to the game for 150 days, you're guaranteed to get both. :)


If you are interested, please let me know by posting here, along with your character name on Faerie, and we'll get in touch. :) Sadly, there's no PM service on this forum, and I think that posting my email address is against the forum rules (no posting of personal information). You can also look me up in game during your free trial period, but I don't think you can send tells or friend requests during that trial period (a rule that helps hinder RMT spam).

If you can't post here or contact me in-game due to new player restrictions (I'm not sure exactly how strict they are), feel free to use the following code and then contact me in-game when you can:

• My recruitment code: 3AFTFTB2 (valid until 11/30/2015)
• My wife's recruitment code: <pending, will have tonight> (valid until 11/30/2015)

It sends me an email confirmation when someone uses a code, so I'll know if you're lying :P

(A note to the forum moderators - please let me know if this offer violates any forum or game rules and I'll take it down. I did check them first - since no RL money is going anywhere except to SE, this doesn't seem like it would violate section 2.2 (the "no RMT" bit) of the User Agreement, and no other section mentioned the trade of in-game currency or services.)

Sure, just use my recruitment code on a new account, make the character on Faerie, and pay for the sub. The money will go to your new account to the character you make on Faerie though, so I don't see how that will help you?

Yeah... while I think it's great SE is encouraging veterans to help out new players, I'm not sure how I feel about "use my code and I'll throw gil at you". OTOH, the OP is offering to help them out in game too, so there's that at least.

I just started this game, I am in the free trial phase still and am looking for help with all aspects of the game. I plan on playing the game so I will use up the code when I get home as well as make a character on your server. Look for me in about two hours. The only question I have is how active is your server?

I'll be on in ~30 minutes. I haven't tried any other servers, but the server is pretty active. I'd say somewhere in the middle, relative to the other servers. It certainly isn't one of the biggest servers out there (that honor goes to Balmung and Gilgamesh), but it's nothing like what I hear about the smaller servers (like Zalera). Since the expansion came out, in the evenings, we've generally gotten the "this world is full, wait in this queue" message when logging in, but it doesn't take more than a minute to get through the queue. Other times of day, we don't get it at all.


EDIT: Been looking for you and haven't seen you... please let me know if you're using a different character name than the one shown above (Leondros Corvus).

I guess he changed his mind. Well, my offer's still totally open! :D C'mon, Faerie's a great server. I randomly gear up for free and otherwise help new players on my server all the time. I'm just looking to get something out of it for once, and I'm willing to pay gil on top of the usual to compensate.

Hello, I am completely new to the game so I'm not sure if I did this correctly, but it does say the code registered. I will be logging into your server shortly, not sure the name as of yet because I don't know if I need to roll an entirely new character or if I can keep the ones I had from the trial...

of course there is maintenance going on when I decide to buy and play the game lol

This offer is still open! I've raised the initial amount to 750,000 gil, which is the amount I gave out to the only person to take me up on this offer so far (two others used codes, but never appeared in game and did not subscribe to FFXIV, so I assume they changed their minds about playing).

Bah, too bad you're not on any EU server, i actually plan on getting 180 days, but no one with a decent "i'll help you" on Odin on any EU server, everyone just spamming their codes everywhere. :))

Sorry :( I ambush random newbies on Faerie all the time with free gear and then answer any questions they have xD It's a nice, relaxing break from grinding whatever it is I'm currently working on.

Hi. This offer is still open. 1 million gil to use my (or my wife's) Recruit a Friend code if you make a character on the Faerie server, in addition to help, answers, advice, and gear. Also, for using a Refer a Friend code, you get free gear when you subscribe and a circlet that boosts experience gains when low level.

I'll send you 100,000 gil when you first use the code (and I get an email saying you did), and the rest of the money when you actually subscribe for your first month of paid subscription (which triggers the rewards for both of us).

There is a flagged thread for this at the top of the newplayer forum where you're supposed to put your codes. You're not allowed to post these kind of threads anymore. All the other ones have been locked for this reason.
