Open the Servers!

FFS open the servers so that people can make new characters!

I tried to make one. Right after servers came up. My friend was able to but for some reason I wasn't. I made it to the naming process then it gave me an error. My friend made it though. I just wanted to make an alt. Guess we're not allowed period.

I assume patience is something too much to ask for?

Patience I brought the game to play with my little brother it's been nearly 2 weeks of trying to create his character on balmung he sat there tonight waiting for servers to open and as soon as they do he tried and got a error is pay for a server transfer but I read that he can't transfer anyway cause the world ain't open its annoying as &)@(!

The exact same thing happened to me. I was hoping to finally get on tonight after maintenance and was so happy to see the server was open. Sadly once I confirmed my character I got the error message. I just keep pressing confirm now hoping they'll remove the restriction for a few seconds..

Have to do it around the early morning times. Here in Colorado at around 6-7am was when I was able to make a character and get into the server. I have no idea what time zone you are in. But it is best to do it in the early hours and I mean EARLY.

It's already 6:30 here, but I can just keep trying all morning then. Who knows, maybe I'll eventually get lucky.

You can still transfer when the server is closed. I did.

Are you sure? In the little FAQ it says you can't if the sever is closed off to character creation. I want to believe you, I really do!

If people would help me get these damned cheating filth botters banned then hell yeah we have room for real players. Still 30+ in Thanalan every night.

How long did it take to get your character transferred over? Same day? Or did it take a few?

Like less than 5 minutes honestly.

The problem is not at all that we're impatient. The problem is its 7AM EST, less than an hour after maintanence, on a Wednesday morning, and there are only two servers closed: Balmung and Sargatanas. I find it hard to believe that just those two servers in particular are somehow jam-packed at 4AM~7AM NA time less than an hour after the game went back up. Especially because I've played on Sargatanas since HW has been out, and never seen it at the cap even during peak hours on weekdays. So why are these two being shut down immediately after maintenance? I haven't played on Balmung recently but I can safely say there is no way Sargatanas isn't being closed by Square.

If somebody had come forward and explained why these two are the only ones being affected by it then I would be fine with it! If the servers are at their peak or nearing it, I understand having to shut them down for a while. But as it is now, with how shady it is and no explanation being offered to us? It's unacceptable.

Yeah you can still get in via transfer. I did this with 5 characters. My friend 3 characters around the same time. Moved our accounts from another server to Balmung the other night.

This is absolutely unacceptable. My friend can't even start the game on our realm even when attempting to login at 6AM after the maintenance. He cannot transfer due to being a trial account (which is a pointless restriction), and from what I hear its still difficult to find a time of day where the two servers are even open for transfers. There needs to be some method for getting people off the server or on it. Either free transfers off temporarily, or you expand the Aether datacenter to allow for more capacity. Its inexcusable to not allow people to play together by any logical means.

Sadly Balmung is the server of servers right now with a mish mash of rpers,power gamers and a mix in between. Will be locked until people stop not wanting to be on the server.
