Retainers and rare dyes

So, before HW a would get a rare dye every now and then. I have yet to see one, playing since early access day.

Did they change the ilvl cap your retainer has to wear, or have I been extremely unlucky these last couple of weeks?

I think I did get a few pastel purple's, but I can't remember if it was before or after HW release that it happened. Maybe they did change something, because as you said I used to get them a lot more often. :)

Sad to hear it. My favorite colors are venture only. :(

I thought all the venture dyes were available on mogstation?

Not quite. Metallic gold and silver are from ventures only and are not available on Mogstation, same with pure white and jet black dyes.

None of the ones from ventures are available for RL money. Only ones on Mogstation are like metallic green, red, blue, and I haven't paid attention to others.

Actually, my retainer brings me those pastel dyes nigh-constantly and I wish they'd stop. I want the jet black ones! And maybe silver.

I started getting them around... ilevel 100 or so, I think, on my retainer?

I got like 6 jet blacks and 4 pastel pinks so far after HW, i don't think they change anything yet.

I've gotten less pastels, thank god. Looking at you retainer who's brought me 26 freaking pastel purple dyes.

But I've gotten pure whites, metallic gold/silvers. So it's just the luck of the draw really, like it always was, just spam those quick ventures.

I've gotten one of every non-mogstation rare dye since HW. It's just bad luck. RNG gonna RNG.

I've never gotten them before HW and now they've brought me three different ones!

I need to level Kynlara faster it seems.

Never got any before HW now i get one every few ventures lol.
A few pastels and some gold/ silver. Got one jet black but no white yet. Hey at least i save a dollar or two in real life ;)

If people got them after HW, nothing changed luckily. I'll try my luck some more then.

i have a nice pile of golds sitting in my storage for a whiles now.. but in all honesty im sick of dyes.. after a couple dungeon runs in early access seeing nothin but prisms n dye drops XD

Did your retainer level? Mine keep giving me the same things they always have because I haven't changed their gear and they haven't leveled.

This isn't entirely true. Well... it is true right now, but it won't be true at the end of the month. If you recruit a friend, you get gold feathers at certain milestones of their subscriptions. You can use those feathers to buy all the venture dye and two mounts. So you could buy a second account and recruit it for dye.

Wish I could give out the 20+ rare dyes I have. Of each color.

I have been getting them, and my retainer is slowly levelling on the quick ventures and still on mostly demon gear from wod with a more updated weapon. Mostly pastels though, not seen any real change. He did bring back some metallic gold yesterday.

Yeah well I've never had a single rare dye, at all. I'm certain that retainers are randomly given a loot table when created and are permanently stuck with it.

Your retainer's ilvl has to be above a certain threshold just to be able to have a chance of getting the dyes. Rare items won't drop at all if your retainer's gear is not up to date.

If anything, I am getting these more frequently. Since HW, I have only sent my retainers on quick adventurers 1-2x per day. Prior to this, I would send them as soon as they get back. I've received quite a few dyes already (jet black, pastel pink etc).
