Is the patch actually coming out? They haven't announced any about the patch yet
No, it's never coming out, what we have now is everything we will ever have.
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...879-Patch-3.01
Every time you ask it's pushed out another month.
I think OP is referring to the patch that is suppose to house Savage Mode and Relic which will be featured later on this month around the 23rd-24thish since its two weeks after the release of Normal Mode Alexander
3.01 comes on tuesday
3.05 comes in around two weeks
The OP is still new to the game. Major patches come out every 3 months, with minor ones in between. They aren't going to announce 3.1 this early. If you're referring to the smaller 3.01 coming this Tuesday and the other a week after that, they have already been announced. If you're referring to patch notes, those are usually revealed the day before for minor patches. For major patches, they show part of the patch notes a day or more before patch release, and the full notes day of. So patch notes should be up tomorrow.
This past FRI, the 3rd of July, was exactly 2 weeks since the beginning of early access. If I remember right they said that Alexander would come 2 weeks after the start of normal access. Please correct me if I'm wrong but I think we're jumping the gun for it coming this Tues (7th.)
is the patch delayed?=/ cuz they said Details regarding the rewards for Alexander will be available in the patch 3.01 notes to be released at a later date.
"Later date" could either be because patch will be over past midnight, or just an imprecise translation.
Japanese notes say "後日" which could be "later date" but could also just be "future" or "later".
Don't fret, Patch 3.01 will be introduced alongside the conclusion of today's all Worlds maintenance. Are you ready to tackle Alexander?
BRD/MCH adjustments with it?
Many of us will be turned back or not welcome in Alexander...
I won't be allowed to participate in the content on the basis of my Job... likely, I'll be kicked if trying to go in with random's.. just for being a MCH.
This' so depressing. So sad it seems you guys are postponing improvements :/
Don't count on it reddit had article where yoshi just said machinist and bard are where they are suppose to be for support roles, I guess thier idea of balance is tanks should do more damage than DPS classes.... I'm not a game developer but ray charles could see there is something wrong with that.
Support roles or not.
The new BRD was suppose to increase DPS...making them MORE DPS like than support, hell BRD only got 1 new song for the party.
With all these DPS checks, killing their DPS for a song doesn't seem that swell anymore.
MCH is not suppose this horrible in DPS. You can't have a DPS/hybrid have lower damage than a tank.
Just ain't right. Bard is better at supporting and DPS...MCH is just there taking 50 years to kill things.
Also AST tweaks please.
And then there was this... post. Yoshi P's translation in reddit may of been slightly wrong or something because.. he never said hes not increasing it and he even added it to the list of acknowledged problems. He just said that "At the same time we will be paying close attention to the balance of each skill so the damage output at level 60 does not largely increase." meaning he doesn't want them overpowering other DPS.
Any little tweak from shorter to nonexistent cast times up to movement being allowed can vastly affect how the skill is used, if the cast times are significantly shorter then there's going to be a slight increase in dps regardless. It's not that WM doesn't increase DPS at all after all, it's that between the cast times, no movement and slightly small increase doesn't make it seem worth using in the first place.
I honestly am not expecting a complete fix but I do know for a fact that shorter cast times is going to help and if it is enough to completely alienate the problem then Bards will be fine, I'm more concern about Machinists right now.
Reminds me of the days before 2.0 when warrior was supposedly just as good as pld...we were just playing it wrong :P
brd/mch git gud
psh. they are so over powered :) spoiler https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-YU...?v=m-YUF1pf5GI
(Might want to add that this is a little bit spoiler-ey)
Anyways, I'm not overly impressed. This is a part where basically the boss becomes a complete pushover. I have no idea how everyone else died but in that last percentage he's basically completely freaked out by "What" you are and doesn't do mechanics anymore. <_<
edited for spoiler and yeah, just posted as a interesting vid
I just opened my PF.
Shiva-EX: All roles for DPS
Bismark-EX "Clear before Maintenence", lead by a bard who is disincluding Bard/Mechanists. Probably because you only need 1 support-class per party.
a static looking for a BRD/MCH to 'fill out their roster.'
Another static that is looking for any DPS, but is full on BRD/MCH (stated in PF)
Ravana-EX PF Where all DPS spots are available, none disincluded.
So at least as far as Balmung's concerned, we still know the weight of a good support in a party, farm or no.
Uh - you play on my server and I've yet to see any PF groups excluding bards and machinists...I think you've over-exaggerating this a little considering you've made at least 3 threads about machinist, yet you don't even have the job unlocked according to your character data on the Lodestone? If you're a good player, you will be able to find a group regardless of chosen class.
