Rank vs. Level
I got a question for everybody, Which do you prefer? The Term "Rank" or the term "Level"?
While I know it's too late to change it now I bet, I personally like the term "Rank", kinda sounds like I'm actually being promoted within the adventures guild.
I just wanted to see what everyone else thinks.

Levels. I'll hand the wod 'rank' to the Grand Companies.
-
Don't really care either way, but levels fit more in line with Final Fantasy.
-
it feels less awkward typing lv50 than r50.
-
It actually makes no sense in terms of weapon proficiency to talk about "rank." My level of ability with a lance is 50. Versus my rank of ability with a lance is...50??? Same with experience. I have had this much experience with a lance, so my level of ability is 50. I have had this much skill so my rank is...?
-
I prefer the term rank when used in conjunction with physical levels....but now that they're removing the latter, I have no preference.
-
Either way is fine, is just a term for me. lv?? feels more natural.
-
Its one of life's great questions isnt it.
-
I tend to revolve around lvl myself but thats years of habbit. Rank is a perfectly fine term as well.
-
"I'm ranking thaumaturge" just sounds odd. I'll level my jobs thanks.
-
Personally I am fond of rank. but really there completely interchangeable.
-
Level feels more fitting, plus it's a term that's been used in games since the first RPGs. Plus a character has a level of skill, a rank of skill just sounds weird.
Leve operates best for power.
Rank operates best for your importance.

I don't really understand why it has to be "level." Are people incapable of moving past anything? Currently we are essentially skilling up weapons as our main source of progress. Makes more sense to denote our progress as "weapon ranks" as opposed to "weapon levels." Just like it makes more sense to be gaining "skill points" instead of "experience points."
It really doesn't matter to me what they use, the difference is really irrelevant. I just don't see the need to change something that has been in the game for a year now just to stay in line with standard MMORPG terminology and a series that doesn't even seem to use typical experience levels anymore.
