After reading about the changes coming with 1.19, along with the numerous changes in previous updates, my excitement for the game was reignited, and I decided to begin playing again about a month ago. So due to my absence, I may be lacking knowledge regarding my following concerns. I've attempted to find answers on my own, but haven't come across any similar topics on the forums. So please let me know if I'm simply unaware of something.
Minus my first few days with the game, I've only leveled crafting and gathering classes. From what I remember, this game was suppose to hold DoH and DoL in high regard, and allow players to craft or gather full-time and still progress through the game regardless of whether they wanted to level a DoW/M-- I've even been able to go through all the story missions so far. I understand there are bound to be limitations with this, which likely cannot be alleviated without either crippling the game or forcing developers to create tons of alternative content.
However, I feel something as simple as acquiring a chocobo should not fall within these limitations. As I said above, my knowledge in some parts of the game is lacking, but from what I can tell, DoH and DoL are not capable of joining companies, which leads to not being able to acquire seals to purchase a chocobo. Personally, I have no desire to level a fighting class, and this is very frustrating to me because I could benefit greatly from having a chocobo, especially on DoL.
I haven't found this mentioned anywhere else, so am I the only one who doesn't care to level a fighting class at the moment? Does this not bother anyone else? Is it not reasonable to think DoH and DoL should be able to acquire a chocobo on their own? Maybe I'm simply unaware and there is a way for me to gain seals as DoH / DoL, or perhaps there are at least plans to implement this in the future?

There was some chatter about doh/dol activity's for the Company's a while back. I think they labeled it as "Replenishment".

Well, you can always RENT a chocobo; and I have no doubt that later on you may be able to acquire them through other means. But the Companies represent a military, of sorts, and they seem to be more interested in military folks who beat stuff up than military folks who cut down trees.

Regardless, I still fail to see any reason why something as fundamental as a personal chocobo should be restricted to only those who choose to level a fighting class, particularly when in the past SE has specifically stressed the importance of crafting and gathering classes as potentially full-time classes.Quote:

And it doesn't take super long, either - you could get your chocobo with only a few days work at the class. SE seems determined to make all of us play classes other than our favorites to get the best out of the game - I hit r50 GLA only to find out that without r30 MRD and PUG, you really aren't the tank you want to be at the top level. They are really big into making people accept trade-offs to get what they want. -

Will they have Seal quests in 1.19 for DOH/DOL. Honestly don't know, would be nice to get a statement on this. My bet would be no, but I am a bit disillusioned with some things atm. I certain hope they do. Atleast I play all aspects of the game, which means I can get my bird even if DOH/DOL get shafted in the next patch on seal earning quests. -
