Plus +1 for the Music

I don't know about anyone else but I enjoy the music in the cities more now since this (recruiting event). In fact, I hope the devs keep this music in the cities. It's much better than those other soundtracks. I actually feel like i'm a part of something more even though there is nothing to do yet. So I am asking kindly to the devs to please keep this music in the towns.

Anyone else's thoughts? If this has been posted in another thread I apologize.

I like both the company music and the regular music so I hope they can use both in the cities somehow.

I agree. I wish they would let these tracks stay after this event is over.

I wish they would have more a more dynamic system even it is was just to fade the music in and out every so often. Those 2 minute loops drive me crazy.

I'm sure if we all made enough noise about wanting to keep these tracks in the cities they may consider it.

It's only because it's not so overexposed as the previous music.

The usual music is better and more fitting for the cities than the company themes.

How are people supposed to form an attachment to their home cities if they keep changing the music? If they replace Navigators Glory with whatever forgettable music is in Limsa at the moment, I will make so many rage threads.

It's nice to change it every so often for events, but to change it forever? That's another matter entirely.

That's why I suggested to let us pick what we like, but no one seemed to like that idea.

With you 100%. I think it would be neat if they had different music for night and day.

But yes, this music needs to stay I think! It feels so adventurous and exciting, and adventuring is the main theme of the game, no? Keep. It!

If they'd let us edit the music for our client using their catalog, that could be pretty nice. It's sort of disrespectful to the composer, but it would be better than people trying to edit the data files themselves. Which, from what I understand, FFXIV's BGM is hard to replace with other game music and no one has figured out how to loop the songs properly.

I don't know what some people are smoking.. but the old music was so bland and boring. Oh, and that bomb event music... Yeah I turned that off after 5min~ lol

I agree with you, but I think these tracks are better. I think it's easier to feel a sense of attachment to a place when it has awesome music. These tracks are arguably some of the best in the game. I don't think they would need to be changed again if they stuck with these. Of course not everyone is going to agree with this, which is why I think we should try to get some idea of how many people would be for or against this idea.

Like User said, it's most likely cause you're used to the old music.

I picked Ul'dah as my city cause I really liked the music from a preview video I saw, and as much as I like both themes, for nostalgic/preference reasons I'd like the regular city music to not be gotten rid of entirely.

I personally can't appreciate music like this if I hear it all the time. I'm really happy with the normal city music and when an exciting event comes up the change in music really stands out.

I don't see what's wrong with that either. I would personally leave it on default, though.

But I guess SE is worried that people may be presented with a game which deviates too much from the one they want to present. I guess they feel like they know best.

Kind of do hope these tracks stay as well, Even if it starts to play on occasion. The Immortal flame ballad can make going to the bathroom feel like an epic adventure. Seriously i logged in this morning and the music got me pumped! Then I went and did the same crap I have been doing in town for over a year now. But with an epic soundtrack!

Well, the company themes should then serve as a method of attachment between you and your company.

If the company themes are used for BOTH company and city, then that is diluting the impact, I think.

Music is nice. I haven't been on in awhile, and Uldah's music is kicking. they should just keep it so. It feels like Bastok a bit.

Day/Night music for each area, a la Xenoblade.

Bam.

The music is too heavy. Background music should be subtle or else its just annoying

Honestly i'd be fine with keeping things separate as they were, but the grand company themes really should be the company leader themes as well (cutscenes, within their office, special company based instances, or during special Company sponsored events.

I like both themes, so it would be hard for me to decide anyway lol.

I agree with a day and night theme. Current theme for the day and something more subtle at night. Something more calm. But they have to fade well.

I like LL and Grid new music (company music) and they fit in the city...Ul'dah on the other hand...idk I just pictured that place to be more middle eastern (they have a Sultan don't they?)

Music similar to these would be awesome and make the city seem more "grand" (imo)

I prefer the regular city music.

The goal of cities isn't to make you feel like you're part of some sort of movement - the movement is the companies; and most FF cities, in general, have music that is supposed to make you feel comforted [Ul'dah], or instill some sort of pride/amazement in you [Limsa, even though I hate the track]. Gridania's music sort of fails to do either.

The Ul'dah music is really nice, but interestingly the Christmas music also works incredibly well with Ul'dah.

They have a sultana and syndicate, although I don't think that means it has to be a "Middle-Eastern" vibe. I know it takes some aspects from it, but it's quite a combination of things.

I think the GC music is nice. But it is too "epic" to be used as city background themes in the long run. City themes need be a bit more toned down. These will become grating in a few days/weeks.

I am disappoint with the battle music.
