Why the map not show all quests ? How can I play with that !!!

The biggest issue of this game is the map! Very poor design!

1. I don't understand why they make two maps (big and little one) and display different things. Something only display on little map, It was really hard to follow!

2. When I got lots of quests, map only displays few of them, I must mark them as tracked if I want to see it in both map and even the to do list (recommended list)! Many quests are in the same area, but it was not displaying and I missed them because I don't know, it's a kind of waste time and gil! Don't tell me that's because no enough RAM, I have 16G and FFXIV take 1G only!

3. Aethernet marks, even I played this game during a long time, but still go to the wrong location few times a day. For some of them, I can't find any relationship between the name and location.

4. No map cache in RAM, map in FFXIV is not that big, and most player have enough, why Devs not cache parts of map in RAM? I was always keep waste my time on loading when I have to swap between two area few time, such as Thanalan city.

4 year old question without a solution. It is annoying to travel all the way back to turn in a quest just to see a quest marker pop up where I was standing at in the first place. Let us increase the amount of quests shown on the map or at least all those in our immediate area.

The map shows all available new quests you could pick up, and whichever current ones you want it to. If you don't remember what quests you're in the middle of doing, you should probably read through your quest journal anyway. That will explain what each one is about, what your next objective is, and it's location (if it has one). Just select the ones you want to do next.

I do wish they'd raise the maximum number you could select though. Even just raising it from 5 to 6 would be nice for beast tribe quests, which come in groups of three and might have a couple groups whose areas overlap.

As im just doing ALL the quests per area, yes, so much... its annyoing to not even see anything and then "pop" 5 "new" right were i was so i gotta get back at them >_>

If you mean new ones to pick up, rather than the continuation of quests you're already on, then it's not a map issue. The map shows all available new quests. It doesn't show ones that aren't available yet, though, because that would make the map horribly cluttered and confusing to new players seeing every quest in the game, most of which they're a really long way from reaching.

So all but a few early quests have an unlock requirement (typically reaching a certain point in the MSQ, though a few have other requirements as well). If you haven't unlocked a quest yet, then you'll neither be able to pick up the quest, nor see it on the map. Some quests unlock quite a few others, so you'll see that pattern of several new quests popping up when you finish your current one, because you just unlocked access to several new quests.

No its about I go to Bunnyvillage, get ALL THE QUESTS and do em, but since completed still block that list id have to open questlog, deselect them or focus quests which fit the area im in, which means reading all those 20 or so textes.

You keep talking about quests that haven't been picked up yet. Everyone's beef is that you can't track all the quests you already have picked up. Right now I have 12 quests in Mor Dhona but I can only see up to 6 at a time. This limitation forces players to waste their time looking at each quest to determine their location so they can manually track the ones closest to each other.

Talk about stupid design...

Even if the post is old and somebody necro.. The map could still be better, ever asked yourself why you can't adjust the size of the map window without changing the focus of it? Every time you close it and reopen, the information of your last use is deleted, even if you check the button that is supposed to center it. Aethernet in cities could get a minimap too to make it easier to pick the right one. I think it was a question in a liveletter or interview before why the main cities are not connected yet, but I don't know the reply anymore. Seeing the crystarium I don't think it would be an issue.

Solution:
Prioritize the quests you're working on.
Those are guaranteed to show on the map.
It shows the top 5 turnin/objectives, and all available.

That's not a solution, it's a workaround to poor design.

It's an incredibly frustrating time-sink to have to click through each quest in the journal to try to figure out where they are on the map so you can figure out which quests are near each other.
