I saw female stance and it's pretty knight-ish IMO, and I thought all gender tank have same stance, but not for DRK lol.

Female WARs have to use two hands to prop their giant axes on their shoulders, yet have no problem swinging it.... Male WARs only use one.

I really hope DRK get their own stance instead of a copy/paste from warriors.

I don't like the white mage resting pose for females. it's too feminine.

Yep they use different hand to prop their axe but both on their shoulder right? DRK is having pretty different stance for each gender :)

they do. males hold their greatsword way farther behind their back than warriors, and females jab their swords in the ground and rest their hands on the hilt.

I wish I had the female poses, I really don't like the ones I have. They don't really fit my character and I really want the paladin one.

You don't know how much digging I did once I saw the first screenshot of a character in this magnificent pose. I searched all over for emotes and could not for the life of me figure out how to do it until one day I came across a thread like this.
It felt like a stab in the heart, so much in fact that I had contemplated making a thread like this on here just to raise the question.
Males would look amazing in this stance, heck it is even implemented already since we use it whenever we use Living Dead. It just happen to be two seconds short and on a 5min cooldown.

this's probably to balance out DRG Male's cool weapon out stance for the girls.

EDIT: actually, now that I think about it, the guys get one set of stances for the jobs/classes, the girls get a different one. Male DRGs get the 'Iconic Kain Stance', Female DRKs get 'Saber's Stance'. I think the coolness of the look for the female DRKs is also to balance out the dorkiness of their MNK stance...

The female stance for some reason reminds me of Saber from Fate Stay Night. There's was a set of armor mixup I had when I was leveling DRK too, completely unintentional, that made me look like Gilgamesh from the same series. It was simply perfect.

to be fair male and females should normally have different stances >> look at FFXI every single race had difference stances for different weapons and honestly i like it not the same copy paste :p

Males seem to have Cloud Strife's 1997 stance, albeit it looks a tad modified. It's not the "new age" wimpy look he seems to have now. Just as Male mch seems to have a modified 1997 Vincent Valentine idle weapon stance (weapon appears to be in the left hand opposed to the right as Vincent). Please note I say SEEM to have.

You mean the Dark Knight idle? No way, the male one is way cooler than the "stick the sword in the ground" thing one the females do.

One reason the male Dark Knight's stance is better: Auron.

Would be nice if all weapon stances were unisex, but oh well.

As somebody mentioned the DRK pose was probably an homage to Cloud, just like how the male DRK is an homage to the FF4 Drg:

I actually like the male Dark Knight idle pose better. When I tried it out on my female character and got the Saber sword in the ground pose I was disappointed. I wanted to hold the sword with one hand, since we got denied that for the axes with warrior.

Why not both? /cpose should have both stances in them..

Only if I can get the male DRG pose.

Agreed. I don't get why they limit poses to men and women, especially with regards to stuff like idle weapon stances.

I expect it's because some of the poses are obviously more masculine or feminine. The female WHM pose would look rather odd on a male, for example. Though I agree there are some poses that it wouldn't matter if both genders could use them.

yeah poses should be unisex and there should be more of them also diff weapon stances while running with weapon equipped

I mean, sure some of them are pretty feminine and masculine, but that makes no sense with the DRK's stance. It'd look odd, but I'm sure there's some men who'd use the girl's WHM pose.

Yeah, female WARs have gotten screwed on their standing stance for ages now, funny how nobody ever complained about that

Give us Warrior and Dragoon male stances and you can have our Dark Knight female stance.

I do think the female Warrior one has been brought up a few times, but the Dragoon one was the one I heard most about cause Kain.

I do like the female DRK one alot. I wouldn't mind being able to have both stances regardless of gender (Once again, Kain!), but I'm pretty happy about most of them.

I have one thing to say

Male BLM stance

Its quite possible one of the most feminine stances in the game, Hip out, hand on hip and look over shoulder.
It looked wrong when my character was a midlander Hyur and even worse now my character is a towering Au Ra

just make multiple /changepose for drawn weapons and problem solved.

It's just SE being SE. Everyone is equal!... except not, of course. Either just sitting in a chair or idling with your weapon out, men and women can't ever really be the same. That would just be silly.

NO!

There should be no race/gender specific poses. You are already unique by being a certain race, it's not like your body moves in a different way.

Please have both stances as an option regardless of gender.

XI was interesting with how the different races held every weapon differently; it certainly helped better establish the typical personality each race had. The Mithra really showed a more feral nature when most weapon stances had them curved forward as if ready to lunge at prey, the Elvaan standing tall and proud with holding most weapons close to their chest in a regal manner, and so on....

And in time I wouldn't mind seeing these differences if only we were ever given the option in the future to change what animation sets we got to use on different races. A Lala with an Elezen's set or an Au Ra with a Highlanders, lol.
