Latency or connection issues?

Lately, as of 3 days ago I've been having random lag spikes / rubberbanding where everyone stops moving and actions fail to work. This problem only seems to happen on FF, is this a known issue currently, or is there something I can do to diagnose this problem? Looking for any help I can get, as this is making some content unplayable for me.

Edit: Further more, the problem only appears to be happening on Balmung.
I tested a character on Goblin both characters in the same zone, and had no lag / rubberbanding

Same here, im having lag spikes since yesterday. I talked with my internet provider and they told me my lan is ok.

I've been having these lag spike issues since the 2.55 hotfix that raised our weekly Poetic caps. It only happens weeknights during peak times, and I went from Gilgamesh to Balmung having the same issues. Check my internet and that doesn't seem to be a problem, modem works fine as well. But seeing as both these servers are on Aether, maybe it's a data center problem?

Has SE addressed this issue on other threads?

Same here... The game is getting unplayable. Is Square giving us any solution on sight? No answer?

I haven't seen the issue mentioned by SE, and I don't know about it being a data center issue with Aether.. I messed around with my character on Goblin which is an Aether data center server and had no issues. That server, is basically empty though.

Quite literally can't play the game at all due to the latest patch.

I tried to do the Extremes yesterdays and it was impossible for me, i had to use Mobile 3G for kill them -.-

Has the lag been happening all over for you guys? I've noticed I pretty much can't do anything in the new Heavensward areas because of the lag (which gets even worse later in the evening for me), but every so often, even when I'm in other areas not related to the expansion, I still get moments of lag that can last up to 10 seconds or more. And this isn't just with movements/skills either, I'm talking lag from simply interacting with npcs. It really sucks because I want to do the new Heavensward stuff but basically can't with the amount of lag I'm experiencing, and I simply don't dare do dungeons or primals right now >_>

It's definitely not my internet over here because it works with everything else and other games too no problem.

Then your problem is more network related--either something with your local network or along the route your ISP is assigning you to get to SE's servers.

Have you tested the route specifically to the servers you are using for this game? Unless another game/service is also hosted on the Ormuco lines in Montreal and/or the JPNIC lines in Tokyo it is not an accurate comparison. Connecting to servers in Seattle or Chicago is not taking the same path and is thus not subject to the same potential congestion and outage issues.

Note the previous poster...issue was resolved by changing network configuration. That is why many resolve this with a VPN or proxy service--it allows them to alter their routing.

It seems, i speaked with my internet provider (jazztel) again and they told me is a node problem, and they cant do anything about it, they said it will solve itself but...

I opened a ticked with SQE anyway.

Their tier3 team should be able to affect a routing change to try to get you away from the problem node. Sometimes just switching you to one of their alternate peers or another one of their own gateways can make a big difference. Getting them to escalate the matter can be tricky though over the phone. I find I get better results through online contact options--forums, email, social media. Wrangled with TWC-SC so much over our issues that now I usually just have to forward them ping/trace data via email and they get on it.
