Is this considered okay?

So while searching for some housing plots today, i found something interesting. A certain FC on my server appearently has 8 Houses in total, even though i thought FC's could only have one. Then i looked at some of them and saw that the plots were owned by one-mad FC's, with a tag claiming they're a sub-guild of the aforementioned FC.

Is this considered okay? I know housing plots are in high demand and it seems unfair that a FC grows so big that they use these kind of ways to claim plots, even though alot of smaller FC's are in search of property.

This does seem a bit unfair, but unfortunately I don't think there's much that can be done about it as they are seperate FCs and as such, they are allowed the same access to housing as any other FC. They were just lucky enough to grab it up at the right times. As long as they aren't doing anything that breaks any rules, only thing you can do is keep searching for a plot of your own.

Yea, that's what i thought. I guessed the rules don't state that this kind of work around isn't allowed, but i do wonder how far they can go, considering the FC's who bought all the plot's state in the descriptions that the houses are for the main FC. I will try and take it up with someone, because to me, monopolizing something like this seems really unfair.

it comes down to, if those fc's are gil buyers or not.... starting to notice alot of obviousness... kinda wish it would stop. met a guy who had a mansion and head of dreadwyrm and all the best stuff, and all he had was a level 50 bard, no crafts or gathering, and he somehow can afford it...

really starting to hate this unfairness.

There are many legit possibilities here though. First of all, just because the person only has a level 50 bard doesn't mean they haven't made millions using solely in-game means. They could have run carries, for instance, or gotten lucky with maps, or played the MB like a market (buy low, sell high), or had their retainers bring them back super valuable things.

Or, they could be an alt of someone who is a master crafter or whatever whose mansion was full, so they made an alt to buy a second mansion so they had somewhere to put the rest of their stuff.

Just because someone has nice things doesn't mean they cheated to get them. Of course, they could have, but it's certainly not a certainty.

Is it fair though for a small group of people to monopolize on the land? Not really, but it's still allowed. Think though of what would have happened if everyone who bought a large house bought 30 smalls instead... All the small houses on the server would be controlled by about ten people. Housing in the current system is not terribly accessible.

I'm not really one to talk though - I bought two personal houses next to each other, one for me and one for my wife, because SE wouldn't let us share. I still feel bad for the people locked out of housing due to availability, but not bad enough to give up a house for one of them.

yea, i have nothing against that. after all, its only 2 houses, and SE doesnt provide ways to share. My grudge is with the big FC's using very sneaky ways to obtain land simply because they can.

there really is nothing, not okay about this.

say the big FC has 100 people in it, that's 12.5 people per plot. what makes that better or worse than a plot owned by an FC of 10 people?

if the same plots is used for personally housing, this isn't really a big deal.

it's a lot worse when 1 person has multiple characters and they all have personal houses. and i don't even blame the player, if they can afford it, they should be able to do it. the dream scenario for me is if my FC owned an entire ward. our members have the gil to do it.

ultimately, it's the land availability that's an issue.

Agreed. If there was enough land this wouldn't of course matter. But, since there is little of it, it's, at least in my opinion, absurd to have 8 FC houses. These are not for personal use, but for all their members.

I'm very devided over this, since in the current situation, i think this should not be allowed. Also i think the FC can only have 1 house rule is there for a reason. (correct me if a FC can have more houses, i assume this is the rule since only 1 of their house is directly owned by them, and not the fake FC's.)

they don't really broke the rule, it is still 1 FC 1 house, sub FC or not (basicly, it is a work around and it is allow, just like 1 character 2 house)

No more unfair then private housing in general. One person taking a plot for himself, that could be used for a 200+ size FC.

thats just beyond dumb and backwards thinking. I have been in my FC for a year+ now and finally made it up to officer (2nd highest rank) so now i am trusted enough to move furniture around and really take part in the housing activities including running all the FC crafting as well but where you statement fails is that 200+ people cannot do that in a FC. I bought a small house in the mist when subdivisions were first introduced so that (at the time) i could have a place to make my own (as a designer in real life this means a lot) also i didn't have to worry about gardening and sharing plots with 200+ people. But again only a few people in every single successful FC will have the rights and privilege to do this much with their FC... which sounds just as unfair as your statement.

Also... on topic, there are wards in Excalibur with several plots owned by the same person. I always heard it was so they could grow a ton of plants.

That guy is just doing supply and demand. Trying to take up as much of the market as possible probably. It's a great way to make tons of money, but there lies a problem with that too. All the people with tons of money, buy all the plots and keep making more money off of it.

This only can be considered as okay bcoz technically they are individule FC which has reached rank6 and each FC has it's FC master who owns the FC house, from system veiw these FC have no direct association and they can't share anything including the members at the moment.

By the way, it reminds me months ago somewhere here wrote that FC alliance would be implemented later... etc...
IMO it is predictable and foreseeable many FC will create sub-FCs and form their own "alliance". ^^;

No more so than the general way housing is implemented right now in this game. Ie. the fault is not in Liselsia's sentiment, but in the fact that that is how the system is.

As for OP - I don't think it's considered okay, but since SE can't be bothered with it, there's nothing to be done about it. I see no reason why any one FC should have more than the one house they can buy as one FC. Besides the sheer ridicule that is availability, it's only gaining advantages (think of gardening, now even airships - the things that can be gained from those, in such potential quantities as OP hints at, can easily run parts of the entire market) that are quite a bit beyond unfair for several reasons. Personally, I would love to see cases like this investigated and any and all properties and gains confiscated - sorry not sorry if that sounds harsh, but the conditions are just as harsh too.
