Regional Folklore

How does this work?

They are similar to the Master crafting books. However, instead of unlocking recipes you unlock Unspoiled Nodes

Is it a permanent unlock? Or do you have to keep using them to maintain access to that node?

This give me no details on how they work. "How does it work", so it doesn't answer the question. I just have unusable info that they are related to unspoiled nodes now... not usable.

For miner and bot, there is a special page for it. And it unlocks special timed nodes that you normally don't have access too

So these are permanent unlocks, not temporary, and you can have as many as you want?

Its permanent. Each book seems to unlock two nodes.

You use the book once, and now you have access to those respective nodes. Those nodes behave like unspoiled nodes. They are only open for ONE hour during the 24 hour cycle.

Here's an example of a map I purchased:

I bought Tome of Geological - Abalathia. This unlocked two nodes:
-Sea of Clouds 5am (Sun Mica)
-Azys Lla 7am (Red Alumen)

Prior to purchasing this map, this mining location never showed up for me.

Okay, thank you. The way it was advertised, I thought it was going to be the gatherer version of Specialization rather than Master Books, like you could only have so many active at once. Good to know how it really works before I get there!

I'll caution you about the mining nodes. Almost all the items you can get have no use at this moment. This will likely change very soon. I suspect these items will be needed fro red scrips

Also, you need 600+ gathering otherwise you have 0% chance of getting the item. In order to get HQ you need 656 perception (might no be exactly this value, but its close).

How many books does one need for one class?

There are three books per class:
-Abalathia
-Dravania
-Coerthas

Oh, nice, thank you for the numbers! I'm still only level 55 for my DoL classes, but I'm working on them! It took me a while to figure out how Collectible Gathering worked, and that's clearly the fastest way to get exp by far. I'm still wearing full Foragers/Dodore sets with Lucis mainhands. Without melding, the level 55 stuff is barely an upgrade. I'm holding out as long as I can!

And yeah, I found it weird how all the BTN collectibles were useful for CUL, but none of the MIN ones were useful for anything at all, even at a low level...

So the Folklore books unlock 2 nodes?

Little confused, I used a Tome earlier, and it told me that some nodes were added to another players' gathering log. I have 2 new items in my Folklore list on my log, but is it normal that it...gave them to someone else too? I tried to /t the other guy but he doesn't wanna answer me. That happened with anyone else?

Can anyone confirm which Folklore book has "Dravanian Paprika" "SnurbleBerry" "Vanilla Beans" ?

I'm going to take a wild guess and say dravanian paprika is prob from dravania. but I may be wrong...

They're not. Dravania unlocks Snurbleberry and Seventh Heaven.

The books work fine for fisher, they're not bugged. They unlock new fish to be caught that you couldn't catch before, it just doesn't tell you what they are. The fish itself in the fish guide (once you've caught it) will have a regional folklore tag on it however.

Phew, well that's a load of my mind atleast. I was well sad thinking I wasted time getting the book. Can your remember that time/weather/mooch and did you have snagging on? :P

It was a mooch off a Rudderfish in Azys Lla, in the Habisphere (cloudfishing). Don't remember time or weather conditions unfortunately.

Isn't Snagging just for turning map catching on and off? Or is it also needed for some fish?

Snagging is needed for a few "fish" I think. Like coral.

Any1 got idea about the lege fish in coerthas?

Does anyone know the ammount of Gathering we need to 1 shot these Legendary nodes?

It seems < 600 takes 3 shots to clear the node. 602+ takes 2 shots to clear the node.

So am I correct to assume those stats are in line with the creation of the Landborne Seaborne Leafborne aethersands?

My data on these:

[red alumen slot 2]
669 gathering -> 81% chance to hit (1 hit to uncover)
681 gathering -> 82% chance to hit
673 perception -> 8% HQ chance

650 allows one-shotting to clear the node, possibly 647+. I had 646 and it took two shots. I added another t4 and it became one shot. My friend had 650 and was also able to one-shot the node.

Seems 1* nodes have fairly rounded numbers then. Altho untested I estimated that in 700~ gathering is enough to get 100% hit on them with Sharp Vision II/Field Mastery II.

That would mean 600 gathering for 2 shots, 650 for 1 shot, 700 for 100% chance to hit (with +15% from ability)

Edit: bad calcs~ more likely to be 715-720 gathering needed for 100%. Since im already capped I cant test this myself unfortunately.

Stupid question but where can I find these books?

heres a stupid question so i got the albalathias book and used it and i got this message afterwards "A page on Abalathian fishing folklore has been added to Zelgathis Groywords's fish guide." well heres teh problem with that message my game name is demon fury and that name in that message actually exists on my server so by using that book the game gave the info to someone else on my server and i wasted 99 rowenas token on buying it...

That's a display bug. It should be in your guide, not his/hers.

It's a visual/text bug. You unlocked it.

sorry don't have the fisher ones, but this is all the info you need to find the botanist and miner stuff. Currently the botanist items are the most useful. You need astral morraine to make the grade 3 FC buffs though.

None of these items can be gathered as a collectible, so the theory that you need these for red scrips is sort of out the window. Guess they could always patch that though. Personally I'm saving all the food ingredients for when the demand goes up after savage alex comes out.

Exchange your collectables into blue gatherer scrips, then exchange 50 blue scrips for 1 rowena token (repeat x 99), exchange your 99 tokens for folkore book

There's an NPC in Idyllshire that you trade the Rowena's Tokens (blue gatherer scrips) to.

99 tokens for 1 book....ufff

For miner, which folklore should I get first?

I haven't been able to log on yet today because I'm still at work, but are we going to need the folklore books in order to gather the necessary things for red scrips? I haven't seen what the turn-ins are yet.

You can turn in non-folklore node items.
