What exactly is happening with nuggets and the like for 1.19?

I know they're disappearing, and most likely the items in other professions having similarly obsolete functions will be disappearing as well. Are they just getting removed? Compensation of any sort? I'm I just out the twelve stacks of iron nuggets I currently have tucked away?

Also... will SP gains reflect the removal of intermediary components?

So far they've said they're staying.

The devs are going to monitor item usage and make a decision later.

I was hoping this thread would be about delicious culinarian made Chocobo McNuggets.

old recipes are in the game in the same time that the new recipes for 1/2 patch. (1.19 >> 1.20)
You have this time for use your nuggets (sorry for my very bad english ;) )

I thought things like nuggets would remain, but parts like iron axe butt, bronze knife head, and spearhead clasp were going away.

Correct. Nothing was said about nuggets going away, just parts. Plus recipe simplifications.

I just saw the list of items being removed. It is HUGE. It's like... they're getting rid of EVERYTHING. I have about a million saved up hq stacks of nugs, and not to mention about a hundred other things i was saving and what now!? They go to waste I guess :(

I really am enjoying most of the changes SE is making but this seems like a bit much. The crafting system as it is now is cool because it's so realistic. I mean I'm all for making it like "fabric + thread = shirt" because that is usually how a shirt is made but please please I hope its not like "iron ingot + fairy dust = magical longsword" o_O ..... just seems like they might be going a little overboard here with the amount of items being taken away.

We're gonna get extra inventory space but it's just gonna haunt us cause there won't be anything to fill it with..LOL

Oh well, I guess I won't know what it's like until the patch is out, I am just a bit nervous that's all.

They're removing ALL canvas gear and ALL pink gear.

This is just stupid. No wonder this game is dying faster than FFXI.

Looks like nuggets are actually going away lol. Best thing to make out of them now are ingots or rivets (Rivets mainly).

I actually really like these changes, as well as all the new equipment being added for each equipment type. Been long awaiting the linen and woolen doublets.

I do wonder if they are changing the ranks of things though. By adding in Steel, Mithril, and Cobalt Celatas, what then becomes of the Iron Celata, which is already R48. Or the Tarred Canvas Trousers, The Iron Cuirass and its other pieces, and so many other equipment that their adding new metals, or new pieces with steel, that surpass iron for. I Would assume the ranks of these are going to drop, a lot. If ranks on existing gear drops it will be a big rage for a lot of people.

I am still happy that gear is finally following proper material tiers rather than being all over the place at random. I expect the ranks of the recipes to follow suite.

Hah yea thats too bad for the lovers of canvas and/or pink. Maybe they will add them back at some point, along with more colors for each different piece of gear. Right now there are only a handful with more than one optional color on that list....

Well, i am a pink lover. IMO it was awesome for once seeing a FF where the gear wasn't restricted to black, brown, green and red. :/ But Yoshida HAD to f'up everything because there is no pink in FFXI...so there is no place for pink in FFXI-2 either.

Have you ever heard the term FUSE? I've been repeating this all day since yesterday...FUSE express my current feeling regarding this game just like no other. :/

1.19 might really make me quit this s#!t for good...and if i do i won't be buying game from SE ever again because that's the second time in a row they f' me up and the market is plenty of copy/paste companies that give away f2p games...i don't need to pay for a copy/paste game.

Perhaps this is why they're renaming all the old gear to "dated"? So that gear doesn't change overnight on people?

Dated probably is for gear that will change class restriction. Stuff that might not be under favor system anymore.

Now, I saw the chart with the changes and it all makes sense from here on out, but I'm really curious about skill gains. SP gain right now is insane. You craft a ton of intermediary parts and skill of those, to create a ton of actual items. So they're cutting out a lot of intermediaries. Cool. But how is this going to change skill gains? You're going to create a huge influx of gear in the market to skill up, unless of course they increase skill gains per item or at least shorten the amount of skill points needed for a level. Ideally, I'd say they need to decrease the amount of skill points needed to level. It'd take some of the edge off the mindless grinding.

The thing is...there is no pink dye anymore. Unless they are somehow color blindish enough to confound pink with purple, there is no pink dye.

Yes. A game with a horrendous launch that is in basically extended beta is dying because of the removal of pink gear and canvas items. /facepalm

I hated the pink in XI it was the Aurore Doublet set...i dont mind the pink in this game and im sure it will be back. But there was pink in XI.

Getting back on topic at least ill have some space just lots of nuggets to make into ingots >.<
