Everybody likes Stella?

I see a lot of people complaining about AST and I agree wit some of them.
(Mainly I think spear should affect skills already on cooldown and if they could short the cd to the card skills it would be awesome)

But the main reason of this topic is to ask you all abou the Stella spell.

I has the same cast time as malefic, costs more than malefic, is less potent than malefic and has 'heavy' to offer?

I think this skill is the new tri-disaster (... err tri-bind now) It's use is too situational for it to be effective. At least if it was instant... maybe off the GCD...

Not every single spell has to be super useful in every.single.situation.
Think of Lethargy on BLM or the water spell on WHM - the only time you ever use them is when you have to keep an enemy away from yourself or the group at all costs, either by slowing it down or kicking it away. The potency doesn't matter since the only reason that spell is cast is for it's movement slowing effect.

So yes, I like Stella just the way it is :)

First: You're giving examples of two instant-cast/off-GCD spells, it would be a whole other situation if Stella was instant.
Second: Fluid Aura is great for attacking, specially bosses, wich can't be moved. For moveable enemies, it's just an annoyance to the group to have to move togheter...

Blm also has freeze and blizzard 2 that have no use at all. You can argue blizzard 2 as a pvp skill (so why isn't it pvp). But freeze has no use at all. At least your skill has situational uses and isn't a quested job skill. Lethargy heavy effect is pathetic. I used for T5 progress but haven't touched it since the heavy is so weak you barely notice it.

It's AST's version of Stone. It's your initiation when soloing. Cast Stella > DoTs > Malefic I or II spam depending on which you have. I didn't really think the reason for this spells existence would be such a mystery...

I tottaly agree with you about freeze. If at least the spell would freeze the target (stun with a cool animation), but I think Blizzard II is ok, no complaints...

Stella is essentially the same as WHM's Stone, albeit slightly less potency. They are both low potency skills with a heavy effect, meant to slow enemies down when soloing or when certain mechanics call for it. I think it's fine as it is, as Stone doesn't see much use on WHM, either.

Me neither, I'm just complaining like a little child that it cost too much, has a 'long' cast time, the effect isn't that good and it halves every time you cast it...

Just to say it, in PvP Freeze is even more important of Blizzard II for a BLM, but Blizzard II is a Crossclass action :P

For Stella I think that it is fine how it is up to now, maybe is they would add it on the endgame rotation they could put a trait for it and reducing a little his cast time or his MP cost, but I hope they will leave it a situational skill.

Miasma is literally the same thing as Stella. The mana cost, range, casting time and effect are both the same... but Stella is 100 potency while Miasma is 300. That is the issue I have with this spell. Atleast Stone I is a low cost spell and has a potency of 140 that also applies Heavy*. Stella is just bad.

Stella needs to get her groove back. Even just as an analog to WHM's Stone I, it's extremely weak.

Making Stella (Also known as Jesus Laser, I love that effect for it) into an oGCD with something like a 20 second cooldown would be a nice minor boost to AST, making it akin to fluid aura for WHM.

I love Stella, the animation is very cool, plus the heavy effect comes in so handy in all sorts of situations.
