I just tested my autoturrets on dummies and gauss barrel's supposed 20% damage increase did not affect them at all.
Despite the turrets claiming to deal 80 (or 60) potency of our damage.
I swear I want to play this job so bad but there are so many ridiculous minor things like this that hold it back.
These things DO matter and they do count, there are so many that it has added up.
Yet another machinist inconvenience.

that potency is not based on "your" potency, the only thing that will effect it's damage is your base DEX. After that nothing, Gausse Barrel is an upgrade to you and you alone, not your Turrets.

The turret is stated to have a potency based off of our abilities/stats as is any other ability that we can directly use. Eos/Selene for instance don't say that they heal with a potency of 60 or 50. No buff on a smn/sch boost it's pets, only buffs on the pet do. GB works the same way

I can see how turrets work the same as SNM pets though as MCH has hypercharge to boost their damage, much like Spur... But again it is much less effective, has double the cooldown and can't be stacked with something like Rouse to make it a 80% damage increase for them...
There is every reason to complain about things like this, especially since it is something a lot of people were looking forward too...
Feeling letdown doesn't do it justice imo. -

Self buffs have never had any effect on pets. The only thing that turrets get is buff from food. This is nothing new, nor should they add it to it either.
