So while flying around in the Churning Mists I came across this... giant flying thing in the distance... and nobody seems to know what it is. So... anybody here know?

It looks like an Allagan Airship.

So still no clue what it is, but it only appears on nights with the lightning storm going on. It can be seen from pretty far away, but it's best viewed at the very north edge of the map, around 16,2 to 24,2 facing north (Flying is required to reach these areas though I don't believe required to actually see it)

Ya know what, keeping with the theme of Final Fantasy IV, which a couple aspects of Heavensward has, maybe it's the Flagship for the Red Wing's?

It was stated in one of the quests that the Garleans had built another airship like the Agrius (the one downed in Mor Dhona while fighting Midgardsormr), this is possibly that airship

It's nowhere near big enough to be that one though

How do you know how big it is if this is seen in the distance with no reference point for scale? :P

Cause it's not that far away lol It's big, but nowhere near big enough to be the 2nd Agrius lol

It was seen in the Sea of Clouds also by an FC mate of mine

Guess that means I'll be stalking the Sea of Clouds now lol

That very airship does actually make an appearance later on, and I can tell you this much. They're not the same craft. This one is very allagan in design, and you'll see the parallels for yourself once you reach the final explorable area in the story.

Looks like some kind of Allagan technology, or the Empire.
