Give AST an Interrupt

Dear SE,

The AST class fails miserably because we have no way of out dpsing or interrupting the conjurer in the MSQ "Keeping the Flame Alive". Since we are a healing class it is okay that we cannot burst through her heals, however, we have no way of stop her cast and spend 15-17 minutes in a stalemate waiting for the quest to fail. Did it ever at all occur to you that this class was missing such a basic function. Allow us to use the WHM push back if nothing else. Or even allow the ID card to be picked up with her alive. Something needs to be done because you have allowed a class to hit a wall in your game.

Just curious, did you enter the fight wearing at least the 115 HQ gear? If you wore 120/130s and couldn't outdps her then there's an obvious flaw in the quest tuning. A quick search showed that there are others with the same problem, specifically SCH people.

The vast majority of the players probably never felt the dps requirement due to having mostly 130s...this reminds me that a few story fights in 2.0 was also quite hard on some classes.

I hope I am not missing some major mechanics with this, and sounding stupid, but would it help using auto attacks in combination? I don't know if there is a certain threshold needed to interrupt with them, but it's worth a shot. Unfortunately I can't say much of anything because I haven't gotten to that point in the story at all, but it figures I'm going to be completing it with either SCH or AST :P

I also noticed this quest was hard as AST specifically because of the CNJ. My workaround was to DoT the CNJ then nuke another enemy down, and while the CNJ healed the other enemy, nuke the CNJ.

I don't think I've ever seen mob casts getting interrupted by player damage. As a PLD who lived with pathetic dps since 2.0, I've never ever interrupted a mob cast using just melee damage.

I just finished this quest recently and it was easy enough with my AST.

Average ilvl: 119

Cleric Stance -> Combust II -> Combust -> Aero -> Malefic

Ignore other mobs until CNJ is dead.

It's really easy with SCH, we do not have a DPS problem haha.

give AST a dps boost more than interrupt, malefic II comes too late and even then "meh"

Oh geeze duh xD I had pvp stuck in my head for some reason, even though it's really a "monster." I knew I'd feel silly ; ;

Oh but they do get an interrupt!

...at level 60, and on a two-and-a-half minute cooldown.

This is how I defeat healers on WHM as well, does the OP assume healers to be as strong as DPS jobs with Cleric Stance on or something?

Are you sure you were in Cleric Stance OP? O.o
Granted, I am SCH, so I don't have DPS problems when I put on all my DoTs, but this quest felt EXTREMELY easy in the HQ i115 gear you get from MSQ (and normal i115 for the missing ones). Just make sure to ALWAYS focus the healer first.

I have not really played AST, and don't know their DPS, but I can't really imagine having problems with this particular one.
