The Idyllshire photo history thead

So, presuming that Idyllshire is to be the new Revenant's Toll, I think we should get in early this time and take some early screenshots to chart its development from Heavensward to 4.0.

Quite looking forward to seeing this one change, as it seems to be its own "city"

Good idea, I bet a lot of the rubble will get cleared over time.

I can't wait until they add the Aetheryte Shards.

I'd love to see it expand with Goblin-tech and more Doman refugees.

While I doubt it would happen...it would be kinda nice to see (and help) moving into the Hinterlands, taking down the Illuminati and all that. Again I doubt it would happen but would certianly see a LOT more change that way.

If I'm correct on how it works (I never looked around Mor Dhona much when I started in 2.1, and had a lull between then and 2.45 so I missed alot.) it should be every major patch something gets updated on the map. Take pics now for the "before" part of "before and after" basically.

During the 'Tour of the North' trailer we actually saw players running along the road that leads up to Idyllshire so I'm actually wondering if that separate zone will eventually be merged with the Hinterlands. Unlike Rev Toll, however, Idyllshire is going to be directly facing off against Alexander (he'll be summoned up river from the city, under that huge barrier) so I won't be surprised if we actually see Idyllshire take some damage as well.

I kinda hope that Idyllshire will merge with the Dravainan Hinterlands in a future patch, so that Sharlayan could eventually be rebuild.

Wonder if the bridges will also get repaired, though that may break the path devs have in mind for MSQ and aether currents.

There's a topaz carbuncle that appears by the Skywatcher every so often, too.

Breaking off Idyllshire from Hinterlands must have been a way to reduce congestion. Lots of people idle around the endgame tomestone exchange areas all day for some reason. Now they can do that without filling up the hinterlands.

I've seen it in a few locations on the right side. It seems to be pretty much the same thing as the Emerald one in Revenant's Toll.

While idling around and taking some screenies, I found the carbuncle photobombing my shot in another one of his hangouts.

Problem is, Goblins don't seem to be interested in rebuilding Sharlayan. They want to take all the metal parts and create gobbie tech to make more jigglyshine. While te idea of a friendly city where freedom and respect is the onmly rule sounds nice on paper, the goblins apparent incomptence leaves a sour taste in my mind. I hope I am wrong, but currently it looks like Idyllshire will be a junkyard instead of a seat of knowledge.

I'd keep an eye out for that Carbuncle. Might be like Revenant's Toll's very own Ruby. Wouldn't hurt to keep an eye out for the master.

This thread was a good idea. Because of our late start, I'm still not sure we'll ever have a truly good album of Revenant's Toll.

I just got to Idyllshire myself and I'm almost positive that we should be expecting changes. Rowena bluntly says, "I'll need to set up something to facilitate business," and there's a summoning bell. Rowena + amenities = growth; and I do believe Slowfix says that the golems you disabled were all that were stopping them from expanding to begin with.

It's up to us adventurers and treasure hunters to make sure that doesn't happen, I guess. Let's get Rowena on our side and start our own groundskeepers association. Aesthetics count, goblins, get your shite together!

And one of the rock formations on that dome looks like his head. Very likely he'll eventually rise and replace those rocks. Also, that particular set of rocks can be landed on, and has a vista on it.

I imagine he'll rise further out of the water with each addition of new raid content within Alexander. The post-credits scene reveals an entrance in his right hand that will presumably unlock in a week when they unlock the first part of the raid. Bets that the other entrances are in his other hand and his head?

It would indeed seem that both Idyllshire and the Hinterlands will be seeing changes though.

I'd like to see the place restored as a real Sharlayan settlement to be honest. See what Sharlayan stuff looks like without it being neglected and in ruins. Maybe have some Sharlayans return from the homeland to restore it and so forth.

Could be a project of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, once we get them all back. Or maybe Matoya can spearhead the movement. I'd love to see more of her.

Didn't the isle of val disappear or something? That would mean the actual sharalyan is gone.

No, they make this fairly explicit in 2.x: the main Sharlayan motherland is still secure, Val was just one of the smaller islands of the archipelago. "Krile", whoever she is, is recovering in Old Sharlayan proper.

Assuming, of course, that Urianger's mysterious new friend isn't Krile in disguise...

I agree with the Aethernet idea. Maybe its just me, but this is only zone in Heavensward that doesn't have its own Aetheryte and its very annoying. I understand why they separated the zones, and I highly doubt that there will be a fast travel system added to the Hinterlands, but I can still hope =P

I noticed the Goblin on the scaffold near to the Tinker/Trader (Soldier/Spy xD) talks about the Gobbiehall being home to many tradings of toungeflaps and overmuch feastings, sounds like the Gobbiehall will be a new area?
