Dawnborne Aethersand

Does anyone know how to get this item?

I need it to make my Thavnairian Bustier! Please hAlp! :o

Aetherial Reduction (and with that, I crash the prices on it across multiple servers. Have fun)

Find an item that says Reducible on it (usually found on ephemeral nodes), gather it as a collectible, reduce. There are 8 levels of purity (grades) and the higher the collectibility, the higher the purity and rewards.

Just so you know you cannot get Dawnborne Aethersand from aetherial nodes since you cannot get over 500+ collectability on aetherial nodes.

Yes you can. I've gotten over 500 rarity on two of my collectables with my rotation and lucky RNG. They were at 511 rarity. They were both 7/8 on the scale. I desynthed both of them and got duskborne sand.

However, I've gotten dawnborne aether sand from a 5/8 rarity. I got a stack of 3 from one desynth. So far I'm 1/12 on level 5 rarity.

So yes,with the stor bought gear and quest items from botany, I was able to get over 500 rarity. It is possible.

manasail can be reduced onto it ;), just need a bit of luck to get one ;)

Got seaborne Aethersand today off a fish.

I can get over 500+ collectibility with the forgers set >.> and im only lvl 56, pretty sure with higher tier - 60 gear, you could probably get at least 600.

So if these really are obtainable from aetherial nodes, could people please post their rotations and required GP? (Obviously I'm talking about nodes with only 4 gathering attempts)

I use Discerning + Impulsive, x2 -> Discerning + Methodical, 600 GP total. If Impulsive procs, replace Discerning with Single Mind for another swing. If you're not getting enough points, use Utmost + Instinctual instead. If that still fails, use Last Ditch.

Usually i get 4 attempts at this rotation per gathering time i guess... using cordial to get back to 600 gp.


Rotation:

Impulisive > if proc > Single mind > meth > single mind + Discerning eyes > meth > collect

if no proc > meth > meth > collect > move on

whats your perception molic? mine is a measly 110~ rarity from meth

540, only new gear ive gotten since 3.0 came out is the trailblazer stuff free (blue script items), and i made an hq lvl 53 off hand tool, no melds. i do have lucis main hand though, but im sure with all the new crafted gear you can get a lot better stats than mine.

I'd like for someone to explain this. You hit for 172 with methodical with 540 perception but I can hit only 115 with 665 perception?

That would be a Methodical with Impulsive proc / Discerning. 115 Methodical is the hard cap without buffs.

Impulsive apperisial has a 30% chance to give you the Discerning eye buff ( a free 200 gp move), if you get that buff methodical will hit for 172. I wrote the rotation i used down below the picture, idk if you skipped over it.

Your log didn't show Discerning Eye so I assumed that was a base hit. Nevermind then.

Interesting that your Impulsive did 155. That seems to indicate a +50% quality buff.

I'm starting to wonder if there is a small chance to HQ an appraisal swing. A HQ swing would be equivalent to using DE.

I've noticed it has always done 155 when i have gotten the Discerning Eye Buff from it. Otherwise it will do like 110 or 115 or something and give me no buff

Impulsive procs apply to both the current swing and the next one. That's what you observe here. Big gamble, but very rewarding. :o

its really not that huge of a gamble for the ephemeral nodes, considering you can mine them like 15-20 times per round.

With 574 perception, I get 500+ always using disc+methx3 then gather. I have gotten 3 dusks, 2 dawns, and 1 landborne at a time on these. Pretty much I just go grab the 4am/pm nodes node right after I finish my culprite grab for that set. I then go back to crafting and do it again in 30 minutes. I used to try getting multiple, but when I got two dawn from a 7/8 rarity I just stuck with grabbing one good one each time.

I've gotten 3 dawn form a 5/8 rarity before

This is my log of when I had gotten 600+ rarity (8/8) on a radiant fire moraine. I was using HQ level 55 gathering gear at the time (dhalmelskin, with only perception on perception pieces, and gathering on gathering pieces melded; no overmelds) with level 50 accessories (max melded dodore, etc.) and adamantite pick/sledgehammer (non-melded) sitting at around 598 gathering and 595 perception.
So yes, it's possible. Can you get it every time? probably not, it relies heavily on RNG.

It's pretty cheap on my server, but I got randomly from reducing something, don't remember the collectability rating it was.

Im addicted to Atherial Reductions after i figured out my rotation for Leafbornes. They dont even have a purpose yet but I love when an 8/8 melts down into one of them.

Im up to 20 NQ Leafbornes and 1 HQ

You can get the leaf/land/seaborne aethersands at 7/8, which requires 525 collectability, I assume 8/8 (550+) has a higher chance though, you certainly don't need to get to 600 anyway.

Its kind of sad when its easier to get leaf/landborne then dawnborne tho. It feels like they stealth nerfed the droprate of them a week ago orso. Might just be rng I guess, but ive barely been able to get dawnborne anymore.

7/8 should only rarely drop it. 8/8 most of the time.

Yeah it's 7/8 or 8/8 on the lvl 60 items or 8/8 on the mid teir items. I would say if your pushing hard to get dawn stick with the mid teir. I've gotten tons of Dawn before the market crashed on it. Leaf still took me a good while to accumulate cause although the rotation has potential for up to 670 collectibility rng is still rng. Getting an 8/8 purity on a lvl60 item only to get dusk though is heartbreaking.

got 3 from a 6/8, dont remember if it was the lvl 60 item or lower though, probably the lvl 60.

It's a nice summation, there's a few mistakes though.
It's supposed to be like this:
1-299 = 1
300-349 = 2 Clusters
350-399 = 3
400-449 = 4
450-499 = 5 Dawnborne Aethersand
500-524 = 6
525-549 = 7 Leaf/Earth/Seaborne Aethersand
550+ = 8

Also, if anyone is interested about my data the dawnborne seems to be a 10% chance from level 56 stuff and 40% from level 58 stuff. Haven't done enough 60s to have any confidence in it at all, my sample size for the lower two isn't monstrously high either.

Ive yet to see any Land/etc from 7/8 myself. For that matter, altho the table lists Hidden items as having a better chance, I've seen sand (of any kind) drop less on them.
