weekly towers - still worth it?

So with every job up to 50 before HW and now grinding out the new jobs, is it even worth the time and annoyance to still do weekly Tower to have a i130 weapon after two weeks?

How did you handle the jump from lv 49 weapon to i133 weapon? Shiva? Farming FCoB?
I really just wanna get beyond 50 in a hurry, but i'd hate to be stuck with i110 weapon.

You can buy an i115 weapon as soon as you enter Ishgard. O.o

totally not worth, hell it stopped being worth it (because of all the leeches in there) about a month ago.

And for a pretty paltry sum. Not sure if they're all the same but a 115 AST weapon was less than 30k gil.

Yeah, they should all be the same.
Getting a complete i115 set cost me about 200k (yes, in my stupidity I didn't know that I will be able to get HQ items from MSQ). That amount is easily obtained by the time you get to Ishgard without doing any sort of crafting or anything.

It's good for getting some sweet revenge on the bosses that kicked your ass your first time through, since iLevel is not synced. An i170 tank could probably hold all the trash mobs by himself in one room. Go in, beat the crap out of Xande, and laugh as Ancient Quake does zippo.

Entertaining, nice to get glamor items if you were still hunting any, but good luck getting a que to pop.

I'd really just do it for weekly rewards, not that interested in glamours or anything, my ilv is 130 as it is on old jobs so would just reuse that gear for now, just concerned about weapon. Could easily craft them myself, but i115 seems fairly low :/

It doesn't have to be great, just good enough to get you through story quests. i115 weap is more than enough. You'll grow out of it fairly quick anyways.

And you can buy a new weapon every couple of levels as you progress through the areas, as well. If you're a crafter you can make the same weapons you'll be buying. iLevel 125 weapon at 52, etc.

One of my linkshell mates was adamant about gearing up through the weekly and buying poetics, but I don't understand that. In the week it would take you to upgrade another piece of poetics gear to 135, you could be level 60 getting the i180 Law gear. So no, the CT/Syrcus/WoD weekly is not even close to worth it. You don't even get any XP in there. And it IS level sync'd and item capped at i120. Confirmed that myself yesterday when I ran it with said linkshell mate. :P

Wait til the NPC notices you aren't reliving your memories as often as you used to and offers you tomestones of Law or some other juicy thing to bring us all back.
