Good day to all the Legacy players out there. Looking to hear how many people who played back in 1.0 are still with us today. Just a little status update.

Played 1.0: Yes, since 1.0 Beta (my old service account is still there)
Earned Legacy Account Status: You betcha! Gunna have to tally up how much money I;ve saved so far.
1.0 exclusive Items earned: I got the Gobbu Mount, Legacy Choco, but I missed out on the ring, horn, and the alternate ending/beginning. Only got to level 47 in 1.0 also have my notebook and Chr Birth Certificate from 1.0 CE
/Playtime: Was sitting at 95+ Hours last night, I dont think this includes AFK time or 1.0 time.
Do you still use your 1.0 Character: No, I started a new character for a new game (effectively) I do still have my 1.0 character on another server though.
1.0 Server: Balmung/Sargantanas/Fabul

Played 1.0: Played beta but I have no idea what the account name or password is.. lol. Same character name and look though.
Legacy status: I actually had no idea about it when I rejoined and heard about it in game, but had play time already so I wasn't ruined (though my friend lost out, part of me wished they kept payment plans up to the last month - he was so close xD).
1.0 stuff: Some dated gear, decided to keep some cracked materia, reindeer, Gobbue, Legacy Choco, ring, horn, probably some other stuff I can't think of. Know I don't have the moonlet, and white raven earrings though.
Playtime: Uh, I think it was 90-100 hours, but I'll edit it when I can check- if I'm drastically wrong.
1.0 Character: Yes.
1.0 server: Fabul server merge -> Balmung

Playtime in 1.0 is not carried over to 2.0+. But been playing since alpha stages and really picked it up when Yoshi took over from Tanaka. Nostolgia.

Played 1.0

Legacy status: No. I never subbed, only played while it was free.

1.0 exclusive items: Just the Gobbue mount and peach blossom.

Playtime: 133 days

1.0 character: technically yes. Though I used a Fantasia and swapped genders.

1.0 server: Balmung.

And i stay with the game because i have been here too long and now the game is what it should have been. I saw all the bad and some good and have to many memories so i keep coming back.

What keeps you coming back: The game stands great on it's own, but I love FF series, a big part is sometimes it feels like XI, of course I remade my XI character to the exact likeness in XIV, so that helps.

There are a lot of things that keeps me coming back. I think it is one of the best done MMO's in a long time, and I've played A LOT.

Played 1.0: Nearly all the way through.

Earned Legacy Account Status: Hell yes.

1.0 exclusive Items earned: I have a bunch of dated junk on my old character but the only thing I have with my new one is the Legacy chocobo. Which I ride everywhere.

Do you still use your 1.0 Character: No. Just an exact copy of him on a different server.

1.0 Server: I believe it was Sargantas.

What keeps you coming back: There is a void. A tear in the psyche that yet hungers. It yearns for growth. For progress. This is one of many senseless activities I surround myself with to sedate it. The adulations and recognition I get here is probably the biggest thing that keeps me going.

Played 1.0: Yes. I learned about the game a bit after it launched, and played all the way through to the end.

Earned Legacy Account Status: Yes.

1.0 exclusive Items earned: Pretty much everything. Legacy Chocobo, Goobbue, Dalamud horn, Moonlet earring, some old robes, disabling baghnahks, and a few odds and ends mementos.

/Playtime: Just over 365 days. If that doesn't count 1.0 time, then I really don't want to know!

Do you still use your 1.0 Character: Yes. And exactly the same as I was from the start of 1.0.

1.0 Server: Saronia -> Sargatanas. Gungnir from ARR and now Anima.

What keeps you coming back: Someone I met by chance in Ul'dah early in 1.0 became my best friend. We pretty much do all of the quests together now. ^^

Played 1.0: From the very first closed alpha

Earned legacy status: Hell yeah.

1.0 exclusive items: Pretty much all the big things, legacy chocobo, goobbue, Dalamud horn etc. And some smaller things including some over aspected crystals.

/playtime: Actually irrelevent for this as it doesn't carry over.

Do you still use your 1.0 character: Yep, just changed my last name from Lionheart.

1.0 server Mysidia initially, and ended up Gungnir, but changed to Hyperion with my FC/LS for ARR

What keeps you coming back: The game is very enjoyable, I'll sometimes not be seen for awhile but I will always be back.

Played 1.0: Started around December of 2011 I think.

Earned Legacy Status: You bet!

1.0 Exclusive items earned: Pretty much everything but the Moonlet and Raven Earrings.

/playtime: I can only imagine what my 1.0 time was @_@ 2.0 was around 140 days

Still use 1.0 Character?: Yes! Cien is exactly the same and actually based on my character in FFXI!

1.0 Server: Lindblum -> Sargatanas and no plans to ever change servers.

What keeps you comming back?: My FC/LS friends who I met with back when I first started 1.0 keeps me going. Also, I have more of my local friends playing with me and it's great! I love the updates and the feel of the game (even though I do burn out at times, I keep comming back!).

Played 1.0: Yes. Since alpha testing.

1.0 exclusive Items earned: Almost everything (never got white raven earrings). I missed 0 ingame events!
/Playtime: I question my own sanity over this one.
Do you still use your 1.0 Character: Yes, but I've gotten a makeover.
1.0 Server: Fabul --> (merged with Besaid to become Balmung)
What keeps you coming back: Plot, friends, and cause it's a FF title, etc.

I'm using my 1.0 character, still the same race, same hairstyle & color. was on Besaid and now Balmung (same server, name changed).

only thing I change is my main job from WHM to NIN.

Played 1.0: Yes. Preordered 1.0 CE at launch (September 2010) but billing issues (and family issues) prevented me from actually starting until four months after launch (January 2011). Played intermittently until after original shutdown (as I was still heavily invested in FFXI), but then after the Calamity event accompanying the original shutdown drew me back full time, (that and being accepted into ARR's Alpha Test), I went and played the original story up to Future's Perfect when servers were reactivated temporarily at the end of 2012. Considering I went from GLA 13 to PLD 50 with original story completion (Future's Perfect) in a little under a month, is something I'm proud of (sadly that was after the final save so that wasn't carried across into ARR). But I'm still proud of that little accomplishment anyway.
Earned Legacy Account Status: Yes (and I'm proud of it!)
1.0 exclusive Items earned: Just the Hermes Shoes and Onion Helm (although the later is still attainable if you have a code), my original starting gear, and some dated items that a friend who is now on another server crafted for me (before they became dated). In particular, a Dated Brass Dagger that is still equippable by GLA/PLD! As I have Legacy Campaign status I naturally also have the Legacy Chocobo too, but that was not available in 1.0 after all so that doesn't really count.
/Playtime: unknown (I shamed to admit I didn't know that command was even in the game!)
Do you still use your 1.0 Character: Yes. Enki is forever my main. And I'm still playing my original starting class (GLA) too! (Well, it's Job upgrade anyway ;)).
1.0 Server: Originally Selbina, which then became Ridill. Started ARR on Ridill as well until December 2014, when I finally made the switch to Balmung where all my friends are. Despite the congestion, it's something I don't regret either.
What keeps you coming back: 1.0 had a lot of potential which Tanaka sadly squandered and deserved to be put out of it's misery. ARR is so much better even with it's little quirks and annoyances. And Heavensward is just building on that. I'm just having too much fun to leave. That and, well, it's a Final Fantasy game, a FF game where I can create my own character and experience the story as my character instead of a story one (like FFXI), the intriguing and well written story, the amazing world, and all my friends and family are here with me which alone is more than reason enough to stay in Eorzea.

Played 1.0: Yup! I joined in 2011 but only signed onto the forums in 2012.

Earned Legacy Account Status: Unfortunately no. After the free period finished up, I stopped playing because all my friends were no longer playing. Then, without reading anything, I decided to subscribe again... apparently the day or so after the window to attain legacy status closed. At least I have the fancy tattoo :P

1.0 exclusive Items earned: Unfortunately none off the top of my head. I still have dated items and old gathering mats on my retainers, though.

/Playtime: ARR, about 85 days I think it said. Who knows for 1.0! I actually never got my character to 50. I spent lots of time exploring and goofing off!

Do you still use your 1.0 Character: Yes I do! I actually miss the original thaumaturge to be honest. BLM is cool but I never made an effort after 2.0 for it.

1.0 Server: Rabanastre, merged into Excalibur!

What keeps you coming back: I have absolutely no idea, lol. The world, friends, or.. well really I don't understand. Heavensward is wonderful though!

1.0 exclusive Items earned: Can't remember. Not all that many. I wasn't too focused on that part of the game. I did get the Goobbue.
/Playtime: 220 days, 18 hours (Don't judge.)
Do you still use your 1.0 Character: Yes. She went from Miqo'te to Roegadyn, and changed names, though.
1.0 Server: Wutai, then Masamune.
What keeps you coming back: FF MMORPGs are the only MMOs that really keep me entertained. I like the story, and experiencing it with my buds. Also, RP.

Played 1.0: Had alpha but couldn't run it lol. Came back in 1.22 once I had a real PC.

1.0 exclusive Items earned: Goobue mount. Lots of titles and some seasonal gear. Not sure if it was re released though.

Do you still use your 1.0 Character: Yes but name was changed and I've used multiple fantasias.

What keeps you coming back: Fishing, crafting, gathering

Do you still use your 1.0 Character: Will never let her go or change her look.

What keeps you coming back: Friends of course...good number of my FFXI gang is still around or have joined up since 2.0.

Played 1.0: Yep. Pre-ordered the Collector's Edition when the game came out. Got to level 50 on Black Mage, White Mage, Dragoon, and Warrior after the job system came out. I never did quite finish that gauntlet of running to every single aetheryte though.

Earned Legacy Account Status: Absolutely. My Legacy chocobo is my go-to in the 2.0 zones. In 3.0, I've switched over to the manacutter and the griffin.

1.0 exclusive Items earned: I got the gobbue on a character that I ended up not maining. When a friend picked up the game, I rolled a new one to play through the story/levels with them.

/Playtime: 79 days, 8 hours, 0 minutes

Do you still use your 1.0 Character: Yep. And I'm still annoyed that I've got the Lord's set, but cannot turn it into the Lady's set from the summer seasonal. The character's gone through 3 name changes and 3 fantasias. My latest incarnation is, of course, an Au Ra.

1.0 Server: Wutai, then Durandal.

What keeps you coming back: My close knit group of RL friends play the game. There are other reasons, too. It's the best looking MMO on the market, for one. That, and as much as I complain about the loot system and having to pick up flowers located two feet in front of an NPC, just to hand them to said NPC, I greatly enjoy the story and feel an emotional connection to my character. After participating in the Battle of Carteneau (rather, the crash/lagfest it was), I always get a little choked every time I see that intro movie.

Man... this thread just makes me jealous for the Legacy-Mark all over again >_<

Don't get me wrong; I think it's awesome that 1.0 players got something unique! I just wish they had made it more of a tradition, with a new "Mark" of some kind to mark the end of each expansion. Maybe Midgardsomr could imprint his own insignia on pre-Heavensward players who completed 2.55?

Played 1.0 during Beta and Release. I bought a Gamestop edition that was supposed to come with a bonus and it didn't.
I play the same character and same body parameters that I picked back then.

1.0 Legacy server: Don't remember but it's on Excalibur now.
I come back after content updates. I actually played V1.0 during it's initial free trial and then just kinda gave up because the hardware requirements were too steep. When v2.0 came out I had a decent system but I still wound up replacing the video card. So I didn't resubscribe until this year (before 2.55) when finally I have a usable video card.

Legacy status. Yes, and I still regard the Legacy Chocobo as my main mount in most places. Unique and irreplaceable.
Exclusives, some seasonal gear and jewelry. I still have all my 1.0 Whm AF gear also that of the Drg, Mnk and Bard. Other sundry pieces of gear, Acton, Scale Mail etc.
Playtime, will have to check bbl ** 424 D 16 Hr 21 min :D
Same character, never played another. The only alteration is the hair, everything else remains the same.
1.0 Server, started on Fabul before the server merge when it merged with Besaid I think and became Balmung. I still see the odd name or two from those days in DF. Hi Auri, Psudopsia, Fay. Faith and the others. After the merge I spent a month on Aegis before transferring to Ragnarok where I remain.
Why keep coming back, that I will have to think about and update later.

What keeps you coming back: The theme and feel of the game. Colorful, responsive (except my Mudras...) and easy to play. Challenge can be found if I want it, and so can just time killing activities or just-for-fun stuff.

What keeps you coming back: The community in-game - after I moved servers it was relatively easy to find new friends to play with...I still feel guilty about not saying goodbye to the people of Thanalan Alliance, TeaCo (with the legendary Thal Icebound and artist extraordinaire Nique/Sa'niquel Amrita [Super Happy Discussion!) and Avan Guardian on Masamune. If you're reading this, I will find a way one day...

What keeps you coming back:In 1.0 (esspecially before the december patch of 2010) i could walk into a city or zone and find a random friend. I had a lot of friends that were lost xbox players or playstation players trying to get ahead of the game. Afterwards i got a LS and stayed there actively untill i ragequit in 2.0. Now im back again with (yet another) Ras Gyn
Fun memory: first grinding party ever was with 16 players and we tried to kill lvl25 rats (as lvl10-15)in a gridanian open dungeon..the rats won

We ended up doing a transfer to Hyperion because we live in NA. wasn't sure if the latency would be bad, Guess what, it hasn't been so I guess we could have stayed on Aegis
I kept one character on Aegis just for something to do when NA DC goes down.
What keeps you coming back: This is a hard one to answer. So much in love with 1.0. My family come because I am here. I come out of habit. Hoping for something new around every corner. Hoping this game becomes more than what it is. The Dream I suppose of infinite exploration.

What keeps you coming back: I love the game and my character

Barely played During that first terrible year. Even deleted my character and restarted on Selbina, but once Chocobos where announced, that when I really got into 14. Played through all the combat changes and spent most of my time leveling Classes to 50. Went to Hyperion on 2.0 but eventual move to Zalera to play whit IRL Friends, they did not want to move to a server whit vets so I move to them when those doors where opened. I do miss seeing other vets ( and the Japs, miss them too). Still get funny Questions from my almost always on Title: "Wild Thing"

Played 1.0: Yes, since early 2011 when I bought my first own PC capable of running games xD

1.0 exclusive Items earned: All story-related ones as well as quest rewards (like Gobbue mount and Dalamud Horn, etc.), but I think I missed out on some special collector stuff you only got for preordering?
Playtime:Not so much, since it only counts since ARR and I paused for a year.
Do you still use your 1.0 Character: Of course! ;D Until last friday, she actually looked pretty much the same as when I created her in 2011. Now she's an Au Ra though :x
1.0 Server: Lindblum -> Sargatanas -> Ragnarok (1.x) -> Ragnarok (ARR). But I still have a character on Sargatanas to keep in touch with the people there.

Do you still use your 1.0 Character: Yes, was all lvl 50 - now working to all lvl 60. (I actually still play my FFXI character - same race, look, name, job lol)

What keeps you coming back: Loved FFXI, loved FFXIV 1.0 for all its faults. Just love the game and the people I play with.

Earned Legacy Account Status: It's so nice I earned it twice. (though the other account is currently not subbed.)
1.0 exclusive Items earned: Besides the Legacy guff, I've got the Gobbue and some dated gear. I bearly completed Future's Perfect before Saves Day, and had joined a active shell quite late, so I never got a shot at the Horn or anything spiffy like that.

What keeps you coming back: I like the story and the community, and I guess my friends who still play are pretty great too, haha~!

These are awesome! I wasnt sure I would have many comments let alone all but three posts being more shout outs. My favorite parts to read are the "What Keeps You Coming Back" answers.

Thank you all for commenting and its great to see so many people still here after all this time. You guys all ROCK! Legacy strong and proud, we helped form the game we all are playing today.

Played 1.0: Yes, starting with 1.0's beta.
Earned Legacy Account Status: Yes, I actually came back and subscribed in the first week of January 2012 when they started billing back up at the discounted rate, so I was 2 months in already and had the status a month after it was announced (since they were nice enough to retro-actively count the previous months).
1.0 exclusive Items earned: Goobbue mount. I still have some dated gear and infernals gathering dust in my retainer, I'll never let those go.
/Playtime: I -always- forget to check this when I log in, I'll edit it in later since I'm not home yet.
Do you still use your 1.0 Character: Technically, yes. Up until HW's early access, my main has still been my main, however I've found myself playing my alt now. However, both characters are actually from 1.0, both have the tattoos, Goobbue mount, etc, so still technically playing my 1.0 characters.
1.0 Server: Originally Lindblum, which ended up in Sargatanas, where I still am today.
What keeps you coming back: The story, the music, the design of the world and its people, and the accessibility of its gameplay.
