Remove Cast Time for Wanderer's Minuet

Starting this petition to remove cast time or a significant reduction for Wanderer's Minuet. The skill should be seriously reconsidered as it is almost useless or a significant dps drop to recast and switch during combat. Rather, Wanderer's Minuet should function more like Cleric's Stance with a cooldown but no cast time to use. This would still raise the skill ceiling for bards but add versatility in swapping between Wanderer's Minuet and a more mobile combat style without it.

I think there's a lot of potential with the skill. I recognize the dps increase that it gives, but the skill needs some fixes (meaning the bug where you cannot attack for a few seconds too) which will raise its efficiency and actually change how bards can be played in 3.0.

(On the side, Keeper's Paeon should also be looked at since I'm pretty sure nobody uses it with its also long cast time and single target.)

This is the only issue I have with it so far, so yeah, I'd agree with a removal or a shortening of it.

Especially since, you're not singing really...more like humming to yourself. Or it's like you have a song stuck in your head.

I would honestly rather they let all abilities be used outside of WM. and get rid of it. It's a horrible idea, and takes away that which made bards different from other DPS, their mobility. If I wanted to be a turret, i'd be a machinist or a black mage.

It would fix a part of the problem.

Then there's still the plenty of other problems, like our many buffs each eating into our gcd's, repelling shot being unusuable and wasting 80 potency which should be put somewhere else instead, Bloodletter Proc's not being spammable anymore, Straighter Shot procs combined with that being horrible to use, Wanderers Minuet removing our auto attacks but not giving us enough in return, quad Barrage which used to give us 800potency (2x4x100p) (2x3x100=600 potency if you couldn't do quad) being nerfed into (at best when used on E. Arrow) 480 potency and just the general feel of the class being drastically changed.

And I forgot to mention. We were already considered the lowest dps class. And now where the other classes gained buffs the gap between them and us became even larger.
Where the warriors which could keep up/outdps an average bard (they'r a tank...) can deal even more dmg now.

They should make it so barrage goes back to the way it was outside of WM at the very least. and let IJ also be usable outside of WM. It's so freaking useful, it makes me hurt on the inside that i have to be in WM to use it.

I wonder if it's worth to cancel WM after initial opener, but reactivate in order to use IJ -> EA then cancel.

EA is a beautiful skill yet unavailable to everyone who "chooses" to play without WM. I hope they change their mind.

I seriously don't know what the hell Square Enix is thinking when they do class balancing. "Hey guys, let's turn BRD into caster and not even give them caster level dps." Songs provide excellent support, but does not explain the huge discrepancy now between ranged physical and casters.

I wish this Minuet song is purposely to divide us in between support or pure DPS.
If this Minuet song is activated other song can be use to enhance all pt DPS.
if disabled then other song are remain as a support song

They shouldn't change the entire play-style of a class/job in the first place.

I'm in the minority and actually like Minuet, however, I do agree about it being a dps loss. I think turning it into a 'toggle' like Cleric Stance/Defiance/Fists of Fire etc. really wouldn't help that much. Bard needs further tweaking. Seems like Square was so worried about making Bard op'd....they under powered it in the process.

Just remove Wanderer's Minuet altogether.

Alter ranged basic attacks to not fire when moving.

This will encourage BRDs to "turret", but they will still be able to do most of their dps while on the move, retaining most of their mobility and the general spirit of the class.
But at the same time lowering mobility so they can't just run around all the time and do max dps.

I believe this to be a very reasonable compromise.

Change WM into a new supportive song.

I have played bard since day 1 and mained it in coil from T1-T13 -- The thing that always made bard fun was the mobility. This meant while the Monk or melee stand around beating up the mob and the blm or smn stand there spamming fire or bane us bards had to run around, do critical mechanics to make sure the raid survived and also were able to put up some modest DPS. Now if you use WM you cant do those mechanics ... well technically you can, and groups will still make bards do it since casters do more dps, but our dps will drop substantially. Bards and MCH will be persecuted for "not enough dps" Basically when its time to burn you have WM up and when its time to run around and do all the other stuff people makes bard do, your essentially playing 2.x bard without the same Barrage...

If you ask me this is garbage. A lot of casters have complained over the past 2 years about how they have no mobility. So they decided to stick a big ole' bat up our **SE

They did that to pretty much every job by giving them 5 new skills. If you don't like the new playstyle, just take those skills off your hotbar and forget they exist.

WN just needs a shorter cast time and/or a larger damage increase.

both MCH and BRD need a look with the stances , they need to boost the dmg a lot to make it worth it.

and this is the problem people are seeing but there are few nay sayers.

I actually like Minuet - I do agree with this though. I would prefer if it allowed for easier stance changing. As of now, if I'm moving for less than 3s, it's not worth it to turn it off, but it's still a pain in the butt to have that long cast to turn it back on. Would much prefer if it worked like Cleric Stance, where you turn it on and then have a 10s cooldown before you can turn it back off.

Hell, I wouldn't mind a small cast time like our Swiftsong... but 3 seconds?! And please make The Warden's Paeon that of the same of Swiftsong. It's a completely useless song unless the boss has a mechanic you know about and is well prepared to spend 3 seconds casting it on your tank...
