Expertly Crafted Dragon Mount Figure

Is that just me or something is wrong with the display base ? It doesn't fit at all...

It seems the claws miss the back post just a little. Instead of both claws going into each hole on the back post, the back claw goes into the front hole. Makes it a touch unstable, but still stands.

It's P**s poor. Poor quality and shoddy stand. It does not match! I've fiddled with it enough now and not happy with it. I was prepared to pay £130 but now that I've received it and checked out this model I now regret paying that much for it.

Shoddy poor quality and who ever modeled or made the measurements needs to get themselves to Specsavers to get their eyes checked.

Agreed. The model does not fit on the base at all.

Never mind the figurine, I'm a tiny bit disappointed as someone who purchased the EU copy that I didn't get the fancy box that was so beautifully demonstrated by Yoshi-P in the unboxing. I was going to display it with that and everything :/

Was planning to buy it... guess not. Would appreciate if some of you here can share pictures of the bad workmanship.

It's like dejavu - they must have had the same people who made ESO's latest CE make this statue as well. That's... disappointing.

this is the same exact thread as a few weeks ago on ES forums.

Find out who made it for sure and either call SE or whoever made it and demand a replacement. Thats what alot of people did on the ESO one....

yes exactly intact if so many have gotten the wrong base then they should be sending out the right one based by our orders and not have us spend time getting ahold of them.

It fit right in the unboxing demonstration so why do they not fit?

As an Australian buyer the CE is $300. Gotta love living in Australia -.-" When I opened the box and saw how tiny the statue was I was pretty peeved when I played less for a better product (Witcher 3 statue ♥). After about 5 minutes of fiddling with the statue to fit on the base I've managed to get it on but it's not stable on it's own base! It sits awkwardly and the slightest knock will cause it to fall off. I'm really disappointed in Squeenix. Ripped off.

Two things:
1) Yes the base and the claws don't quite match up, but....
2) In response to people saying it is unstable and doesn't balance or whatever, try pressing the tail down into it's slot with a tiny bit of force. It's supposed to kinda 'click' in, and that should keep it stable.....just with funny looking claw placement

It's a shame, because the figurines that come out of the Square Enix PlayArts division are all outstanding. This little dragon figurine is not quite what I was expecting. Leaving it in the box for display isn't an option either because the plastic is way too thick and shiny so it's obscured :/

Actually, this reminds me of the Leviathan pendant we got in FFXI. The finished product was apparently from some fly by night vendor in China and you could still see the mold lines on the pewter. Was not worth the $40 for the physical item (but we all got it for the in-game shirt anyway because of the sweet sweet free teleports it came with.)

Did that and still can fall off the stand if lightly bumped.

Got mine. The feet dont line up where they are supposed to on the stand. And the back foot seems like its curled up. Mines going on a bookshelf and not likely to be bumped so it shouldnt be too bad. But putting this on a desk or something where it will be bumped or the surface will be moved some and this will fall over all the time. Its not sturdy at all.

Pretty crappy considering how much this thing added on to the price.

Lol mine fits in the base perfectly fine. I'll edit some pics into this post when I get home.

After having such issues with mine and the overall cheapness of the quality I have to consider not buying any CE ever again from SE if they don't provide a way for us to make this right. Also not getting a proper display box like the one as shown is another big gripe of mine. Again never gonna buy another CE from SE if they do not provide a way to make this right. Sucks that I payed so much for so little. 39.99 is supporting the game, 59.99 is supporting the game. 129.99 is throwing money away.

It would have been better and more worth it if the statue was metal casted and painted. And the display box shown by the Producer was included.

I find it funny that people actually expected quality:

To the box -. it was pretty obvious that only the JAPANESE version has the beautiful box that was first presented. EU and US images always displayed the cardboard square.
To the statue - You could see that the statue was tiny from the videos. The one they presented on the Unboxing was bigger and better quality, I am very sure it is only being included in Japan.

I had considered the physical CE when I first saw the unboxing. When I sae the price that changed and when the first images about the EU version, I was sure. EU/US got shafted on the quality and I highly doubt it will be replaced for anyone.

I don't find it the slightest bit funny. I did not purchase this, but it's absolutely reasonable for people to expect to receive the item they were shown as incentive to plunk down that kind of money, and for it to be of decent quality.

False advertising, plain and simple, and people shouldn't tolerate it.

I just got mine today and wow... I'm even more disappointed than the one that came in the ESO box. At least that one took up some space on the shelf despite being made of piss poor plastic *something*. This dragon doesn't look big or menacing or... anything. A buck thirty... I like the game but next time I think I'll just keep my money.

I did not really mean that it is funny. Quite the contrary but I did see this coming:

The box on the preorder page was obviously not the fancy one that was at the unboxing
The size of the statue was never mentioned
EU/US prices were artificially raised and we never received an explanation.

You have to imagine that the Japanese community received something equal to the PREMIUM CE. We just got the STANDARD CE in lower quality.

Why do you think Live Letters are only in Japanese unless Yoshi is on a convention outside of the country? Because they target the JAPANESE community. Square is a Japanese company so this is not at all surprising if you know a bit about the culture there. What really counts is their opinion, US and Eu are nothing but wallets to them.

I encourage people to complain but I don't think it will move anything unless the Japanese community actually complains about this. I am not blaming it on the players in Japan though, they do not make these decisions.

Why do you think so little changes from the EU/US suggestions are being implemented? It's the sad reality. We were sold the CE for almost double the Money (in case of UK) while as much as possible was saved when making the EU/US versions

Or maybe there's some heat factor that makes the statue looks different with the actual? (Not the size)

I cannot remember how I knew this but I did recall seeing somewhere that there were several different versions of the CE and we were not getting the super fancy JP awesome box. What I do want to know though (since I cannot recall) is, did they get a different or seemingly better version of the dragon statue or does that look exactly the same? Also, can anyone verify if the NA CE for both PC and PS4 are different or are they both the same?

My PS4 CE has been delivered to my house today and I am at work, so I will not see mine until later this evening. If it does not fit properly or looks terrible to me, I will likely sell my CE and just purchase a regular copy of the game, then upgrade to the digital CE for much cheaper.

Last night, my G/F lined up for the midnight release of Arkham Knight. She got the CE of that. She's all happy because the platform lighs up and he's at least triple the size. (The base is larger than the dragon+base for XIV) . . . but the batman doll could have been made by a preschooler. Almost no detail at all. To the contrary, I like the detail on the dragon. It's just too bad it's not Hrsvaelgr (sp?) or nidhogg. or midgardsormr. That would have been a nice touch.

Edit: I also originally had a rough time geting my dragon on the base. But then I said to myself "Misenklauph. GetGud" and i did. It's on the base fine. We have both of our models on display beside the TV.

Anyway, it feels pretty poor quality to me, i'm really disapointed.

The premium CE on the Japanese store is only $129 though, same as US paid and less than EU paid xD

I have to say the construction of the statue is very poor too. On the one I received you could see where the different parts are joined and it shows a dollop of whatever they use around the edges. I don't normally go the CE but thought I would treat myself and this is a great disappointment.

I didn't buy it for the packaging, but our packaging is indeed kind of terrible compared to what was presented in the live letter.

More importantly though, I own over 80 PVC figures and every single one of them blows this dragon out of the water. Some of them were made as much as 10 years ago before many advances in production were made.

I feel like the quality is super great. /sarcasm. Mine came with part of the tail broken off, I've looked around multiple times for it, but I can't even find it, nor have I done anything to even break it.

I have to agree with this. I knew that I was getting a small and cheaply made plastic statue for a ridiculously high price... but I still wants the precious!

At least the cheaply made statue in the picture sits in its base. :P

I could tell the statue felt a little..."cheap" upon touch, but eh, it's still pretty nifty for the most part.

Leg on the left... check. Tail... check (sorta). Leg in the back...damn it.

Seriously what the hell? That leg is totally off. I was in doubt whether it was the stand or statue but I checked the protective plastic the figure came with, and apparently it was supposed to be a little more to the back (giving the outlines). So, what now? We just sadly look at it and pray it doesn't balance off?

I'm really nervous to get mine in now. It didn't srrive yet. If it's like the others I'll just name him the 1.0 dragon. Looks nice but fundemtally broken.

Problem is the way the "Collector's Box" is presented in the image. In the video with Yoshi-P showing the CE off the box is shown in more detail and opens very differently, and turned into a nice display box for the statue. What we got was pretty farking different.

I must admit that I did fork out for the collectors edition for the expertly crafted figurine, and mine is just as sad looking as everyone else's in this thread. I did think the box would open up but I guess the joke is on me for not being able to decipher that from the store picture. I paid £130 for it, which is more than the US paid, and I'm kind of sad that it turned out this way. A resigned kind of sad, I'm not expecting anything to be done about it. After all the excitement and waiting like a kid at Christmas I now simply wish I'd gone for the digital collectors.
