Error 2002 - can't connect

Hi,

Is anyone else getting this error at the moment? I got booted from the game and now unable to connect.

Same problem here. European data center.

New to the game this week, does this happen often?

Tried to log-in about 12 times in 3 min intervals... annoying because I have to keep generating those one-time passwords over and over...

And this is why I don't use one time passwords, even with the free teleport.

Yeah I'm getting it too, it's apparently because too many people are logging in. Not a good first impression, really.

The most annoying part is it kicks me right out of the game so I have to log in again and again and again and again.....

Honestly, my sub runs out in a few days, I think I might let it.

Same here, error connecting to loby server, since 3.0 ive had about a total of 10 miniutes playtime.
ah well time to go find something else to play till they fix the game.

Same, Phoenix again erroring out with 2002. Tried flushing DNS cache, not working this time.

Aye it's a tad irritating... Still I expect its a busy week for them with the new expansion.

I have also just had this occur. The server I play on is Odin within the Chaos Data-center, and at 21:00pm BST (GMT+1) I was kicked from the server and started receiving Error Code: 2002.

EDIT:
The Error code has now changed to 5006.

What gives?
They said they resolved this issue yesterday.

still 2002 here ...

and of course the JP data centres are working fine >_> i could log on to those just a moment ago

Second time they had to fix this issue. that said, this time they haven't confirmed that the issue is on Phoenix too.

Just as an update I tried the Japanese data centre and it worked, so changed back to EU and it works now and I am online... Hope it helps

I actually started playing this game the day this new expansion was released, though I wasn't aware of it, kind of a bad time to start playing, I guess.. I'm not impressed with the seemingly daily unavaliability of the servers, but I'm hoping this isn't normally the case?

It wasn't the case at all before the launch. almost all of us expected this sort of issue to appear though.
It's only natural people would really want to check out new content, but, seeing as tomorrow is the actual launch I don't think this issue will be resolved without Square Enix directly intervening anytime soon.

Ah, good. There's always issues when a new expansion is released, as I've experienced through my 9 years of WoW, but seeing as I'm new to FF, I didn't know what to expect. Thank you for the answer! Also, I am able to log in now. :)

They were well aware of the server issues, which is the reason they gave for no more housing plots. maybe they will use the money from selling the expansion to upgrade the servers than spend it on party events and "im so great" director bonuses.

Hey guys, what someone posted about selecting a Japanese data center, then switching back to your one just worked for me as well (selected Elemental, got in, and then quit to title screen and selected Chaos).

I am in a queue that ticks but does not go down. Aether Server. Anyone else having this issue?

Which is funny, because I'm on the same server and have also been sitting in a queue of one for the past 30 minutes. Clearly the queue is more than one if we're both in it.

day 4 same issue. sighs... would like to acually play the game i pre ordered but i guess that aint going to happen

Was stuck in a queue of 8 for over a half hour so I can feel for any one stuck in a queue.

How is this still not fixed? Come on, SE.

This is ridiculous. We shouldn't still not be able to connect. I understand on the 19th when it first went live, but the game releases tomorrow and it's only going to get worse. I shouldn't have to sit here and watch my game time be wasted because I can only get in every 10 or so tries, if I'm lucky. I can connect to other data centers, so please fix Aether.

EDIT: And I think the most irritating part of all this is I HAVE TO RESTART THE PROGRAM EVERY TIME.

Not just aether. I got booted from Leviathan on Primal about an hour ago with a 2002 and tried for about 20 minutes to get in but all I got was 5006.

It's getting tiresome.
