Really good :D I really like the story so far... I'm not too far yet but still.
Story is good, but too many side quests
I wouldn't mind them that much if I didn't have to do them to be able to use flying mounts.
From the looks of it, I am really impressed with the size of the story in this expansion. Only level 52, but so far the story is very impressive in writing quality!
Story's really interesting so far. The best storylines are often always nuanced rather than a clear-cut, good-v.-evil narrative. The writers @ SE are certainly earning their checks so far.
Just an MMD video on youtube with Kancolle characters

Honestly disappointed so far. "Of course X happened" is coming up more times than I would like. But on level 52 so stil a decent amount to go.
I haven't really had the chance to get very far into the expansion story yet, so no comment there. The direction of the "Before the Fall" patch made sense, but made the mistake of giving the main protagonist all the same information as the player. Armed with that info, certain events should have ended very differently. On a small side quest its no big deal. However, it did sting a bit, having been directly involved in a major turning point in the plot.
Every time i start getting really into it i hit another level gate.
I'm loving it like micky D's. Can't wait to see my DRK in action at level 50+.
Much of the story is locked behind side quest and chains after chains of side quest. They shouldn't be labeled side quest because they are a necessity.
Between real life responsibilities and being unable to log in most of the time, I haven't gotten too much farther in the story, but have enjoyed what I've seen so far.
i was actually thinking about doing that when i finally start working on my machinist but get too involved in the story :P was contemplating stopping my bard at 58 n grinding out the rest so i got some quests for my machinist but generally the last few levels b4 cap are always the hardest ;/ so undecided atm
I think parts of it are terrible for certain reasons that would probably pretty much spoil things if I elaborated on them, to be honest.
But, there are some pretty excellent bits in there, too. Mixed bag, really.
I enjoyed the twists and the revelations so far and that fight scene in the air was pretty sweet.
I'm absolutely loving the plot so far. The one thing I will say, is that the level 53 dungeon feels counter to the goals. We come in peace, shoot to kill. It would have been interesting to re-introduce the parlay system here but obviously wouldn't have made for a fun dungeon.
One minor thing I do like is that we have a choice of dialogue. It may not change the outcome of events, but at least it feels more interactive. Our characters finally have a voice, and I intend to use it. I do find it amusing that "....' is one of the options every time though :D
I find it okay so far, I only liked one thing so far which I cannot say without spoiling.
I don't like it when we have to do dungeons/trials in the story though. Been stuck on first trial now since yesterday morning because queue time is over an hour :c
(ooh it popped as I typed this)
I don't think you and I are referring to the same thing. I'm referring to the section of the story leading up to the expansion. I can tell you having blitzed both "Dreams of Ice" and "Before the Fall" that the protagonist is given enough information to deduce all the important details of a certain evil scheme leading up to why we find ourselves in Ishgard. I'm not saying it would have ended well, just differently.
Level 57 so far and loving it, but I find myself having to do the majority of the side quests + dungeon reruns just to get to the minimum for the next level MSQ. It wouldn't kill SE to buff the MSQ XP slightly.
Level 54 here. I am heading into the 3rd dungueon after talkin to certain someone (if i say something more it will be a spoiler). I am in love with the story, the cut scenes are great along with the plot, and i absolutely loved the dungueons design.
And that Trial!
It's my favorite one so far in the entire game. It's intense, the music fits perfectly. I came.
So yeah, i am enjoying it.
I'm feeling the story itself so far is good - not too predictable, and fairly easy to complete to begin with. However, it is being muddled and spoiled by the abundance of side-quests that have to taxi-ing about so much. Side quests should be optional but instead you have to do them in order to fly up to another platform. Ugh!
