So, about Astrologian Sects...

I finally hit 50 and got my Nocturnal Sect. I have yet to do group content with it.

Would it be safe to assume that if the other healer is a SCH, then Diurnal Sect should be used?

And if the other healer is a WHM, then Nocturnal Sect should be used?

Obviously there might be some situations where this may not apply, but for the most part this is what I'm thinking. And obviously if there are 2 AST, then they should each have a different Sect.

Yes. This has basically been stated by SE.

This has been know since around the time AST was first officially leaked lol.

Well I never heard SE say that. But anyways, good to know my assumption was right, lol.

I dunno, seeing as both the SCH and AST shields can stack (as oppose to two SCHs' shields), it might be interesting to try Nocturnal Sect with a SCH. :B
WHM and AST definitely need Nocturnal Sect though because of the over healing the regens would do.

The two shields don't stack; it says in the tooltip. Incidentally, Diurnal Sect regens AND WHM Regens do. :P

Does astro regen stack? From what I see they do not.

Noct sect shields scale with the heal tht was produced with it.
So if u have mantra+ coven/ any other heal potency buff u can get a shield of 2k+ just like tht. Also it can crit soooooo its like a cure 1.5 + a stoneskin. Its an insta cast & its cheap to cast so u can technically spam cast it on a war and cast swiftcast stoneskin = lol hp always 95% if not 100%.

Astro + WHM I would suggest shield because their raw healing power will invalidate any HoT you have utterly.

ASTRO+ SCH do either, galvanize (scholar shield) is a unique buff.

Yeah i think you have it basically down about how and where to use the stances in 8 man content. Incidentally, i did Ravana HM last night with AST/AST party, i was in Diurnal, healing partner in Nocturnal, everythign went fine :).

I've noticed a problem that I hope gets addressed in the hotfix about this. The diurnal sect regen will not stack with a second AST nocturnal sect dam shield. Grouped with SCH, diurnal seems to be the obvious choice. With WHM, nocturnal does seem like it would be better since a WHM does have a ton of healing power as all of you guys have noted.
