Still no Fix on 5006 and 2002?

I mean come on now! Why has this not been dealt with? What is going on Square?!

lol you're kidding right? This problem never got fixed on beta/launch/patch days.

It will continue being a problem now. It will be a problem on future major patch days. It will be a problem on the next expansion.

Just gotta deal with it. :)

disable your firewalls.. if you are using avast..its easier to just disable for 10 min and log in.

I had made a huge list of thigns that helpedd but i guess it got voted down..sucks... it was all the fixes that worked

I think you're mistaking 'works' for 'it just happened to que after you did that.'

The problem isnt with our end, its with SE's.

Source - You can log in fine sometimes, other times you cant. You can usually log in during low traffic hours. Around now you cant.

Getting error 5006 over here trying to connect to Ultros

Rebooted, Completed DNS flush- changed data centers.... Nothing is working -- Wonder if they are "having issues". If anyone and SE reads this -- PLEASE oh PLEAS fix your client so that we don't have to put in our passwords and single sign on tokens EVERY time YOU throw out an error. THANK YOU

Yeah, well, unfortunately if you simply ignore this it isn't going to go away. Some people have responsibilities outside of this game and can't afford to adjust their schedules to fit what time it would be "good" to log in, so in all likelihood these people are going to UNSUBSCRIBE which is what any logical person would do when shit like this happened on such a massive scale.

I was told I'd get early access, but the only thing I've been able to access is the 2002 error. Cool pre-order Square.

It wouldn't be half as maddening if it didn't kick you out of the game after the error message, require you to type in your password, your one time key, wait for the client to boot, try to log into the data center, repeat ad infinitum.

What's more exciting is when you get into the datacenter, and get thrown into an infinite queue that is literally broken causing you to have to exit the game and try again.
You can wait for an hour and the queue number won't change.

I have yet to see an MMO of any kind with this kind of following have a smooth xpac launch (Maybe there are some out there go ahead and hang me for my comment.) I have played a LOT of MMO's. It's something that we have to deal with. Ill can tell you one thing everyone trying to connect to the server on repeat probably isn't helping. I'm sure they are aware of the problem. Everyone go watch some anime :3

Aether and Primal are both down. You're not going to be able to log into either one of those. They're probably at capacity.

WoW had smooth launches for WoTLK, Cata, and MOP. Vanilla, BC, and WoD (the worst one to date) were the only expansions to have very bad launches. Right now we're in early access. Launch for this expansion will be hell.

Try rebooting your computer AND resetting your modem and/or router for 2002. It worked for me at least once.

ive tried to log in to my server bahamut via primal and i tried through the aether data centers and i get both 5006 and ive got 5002 errors but i was able to make another toon on another server. and i have also got the early acsess so i was expecting bugs but oh well i just hope it gets fixed soon-ish

I've tried all types of fixes and still nothing, on a ps4 btw.

Now do it on a PS4 its like pulling teeth with a set of pliers

Yeah really, they never do, even though it'd only be a couple dollars tops.. In Japan if your train is 5 minute late you get a formal apology and a hand-written note for your employer.. FFXIVi is down for a few days? OH WELL! I really wish Square acted more Japanese..

I don't really care about the money. Would be nice just to have extra time just tacked on. I know Blizzard does that with WoW if they screw up royally. They add days/time to you sub. Last time they did that was the horror that was the WoD launch.

I will get compensated one way or the other. If they take too long to resolve this I will unsub until its fixed... and then ride out and equal amount of time they wasted by staying unsubbed. If they want my money they need to fix this so I can play... it's been two days without being able to get on now.

I think they should change the name Early Access to Beta Access!!

Was there beta testing of this game? I'd hate to see bugs after all this crap. Also as I said before. If Early Access is bad then launch will be even worse. Be prepared to do something else on the 23rd guys!

At first I thought the problem was on my end. Glad to see that's not the case after reading this thread. Hope they get it fixed soon. I finally have the time to play and can't even log in ;_;

1st of all, the "it happens deal with it" response is BS. They're running a business. I paid money for a product and I want that product now. In any other business it would be completely unacceptable for this to happen. MMOs should be no different. This is not entitlement or any other cliché, it's how business works.

2nd, people with early access should have log in priority over those that didn't pay for it. Especially when the free log in events happen. Why should some one that hasn't spent a dime yet be treated equally with paying customers.

3rd, if it's to the point that problems are expected then they need to prepare for it. Not just apologize before it happens and then ignore it. Get back up servers or smarter techs that can handle such problems as they occur.

Biggest problem I have with it:

90k and then 2002 lobby errors forcing me to reload the launcher and put in two step authentication 20 times before I get back in.

Seriously, lobby errors should *not* terminate the program. Even that "other" popular MMO doesn't have that problem.

First rule of MMO launches: Never take time off work.

I just got in by switching to an unaffected datacentre and then back to the one I play on. Worked for me last night as well. Anyone know if this is some weird loophole or just dumb luck?

- reset modem. Nope.
- rebooted computer & reset modem. Nope.
- switched to another data center then back to Aether. Nope.
- switched to another data center, exited, reset modem, then logged back in to preferred data center (Aether). NOPE.
