I am utterly baffled by this decision.

People have been begging the devs to remove move-speed slows from trash mobs since release because they offer nothing to the game except annoyance, and yet Yoshi in his divine wisdom has decided that *not enough* monsters had slows and thus added them to the new enemies as well. Why Yoshi? Why do you hate us so?

It's probably built into the very root class of all mobs to have a chance to Heavy if target is mounted. That way every single enemy inherits this ability unless specifically configured to not have it.

Very few if any mobs have a movement speed down ability. Players receive the debuff if taking damage (perhaps only from behind, I forget) while mounted. The mob that does it is irrelevant.

Also, the complaint was two-fold. Enemies could annoyingly slow you down and posed no threat. I believe he was trying to make the enemies more relevant rather than less.

Personally I think a vulnerability debuff would be better then slow. Especially if it stacked.

When traversing the world now go as a bard and plaay the song that ups your residents to detrimental effects.

I hate this "heavy" effect with the passion of a thousand burning suns.

It has nothing to do with difficulty. I always roll my eyes when I get hit by the debuff...im a white mage, I can instantly remove it by casting esuna, and run away at a faster speed then being mounted. Slowing debuffs werent fun in other games, they arent fun here either.

Especially since this debuff applies a huuuuuuge slow and lasts foooooreeeeeeveeeeeeeeeeeer.

I know right?! There is TOO much heavy! :( Everything does it. Even mobs that don't really make sense for having it. Deer/antelope-esque mobs, Deepeyes, Wild Chocobos, Gnath Bullets, Ram Charges... If you can name it, it probably heavies you in HW. The worst offended is the fact that said helping of the debuff typically last 20 secs, no matter what mob it is. SO annoying. XD

If not remove, at least us to grow resisted to it Q.Q. "Oh whats that? 2 seconds left on your heavy? Well too Bad! Here is another full heavy duration!"

There isn't a "slow" move in this situation; when you're mounted, there's a chance taking any hit will afflict you with the slow debuff. I imagine this is where the flying mounts will come in handy, especially for gatherers. Until then, I guess I would just avoid trying to just auto-run through the wilderness and try to run behind/away from enemies whenever possible.

Unless you were to take increased damage while mounted, which would make a lot more sense.
Btw, theres already a danger besides the slow: if you fall from too high while engaged in combat, you will die rather then live with 1 hp left.

I still want it to cause you to fall of your mount and die instantly instead.

I agree that the heavy lasts too long. I got hit a few times as warrior and shook my head. What was the point of that other than to irritate me? I was never in any danger of the monster actually killing me.

I don't have any problem at all with monsters being a real challenge or threat - but this isn't a threat. This is just there to annoy us.

The problem with the heavy debuff is that it's annoying enough to be uncomfortable, but It isn't annoying enough to make world enemies relevant

You can still ignore them, you simply will go slower

I feel like it would be better if they casted doom on you instead of heavy. Thumbs up if you agree!

The worse part is that on top of lasting 15 FREAKING SECONDS, it can be re applied TO FULL DURATION WITH NO DIMINUSHING RETUNRS AD VITAM ETERNAM

Especially infuriating when you get chased by caster mobs than can just send fireballs INSTANTLY with no cast time kek.

The guy responsible for this design choice should be tortured for this blasphemy !

There's no danger as it is, simply annoyance. Enemies in the new zones hit my 6500 HP MNK for like 100 per hit, so unless I aggro like 15 at once I'm never going to die. If they want danger they should add "Elite" tier mobs which require PTs to kill (would love that) or make them link and never leash so you're forced to stop and kill things you aggro (please god no). The current iteration just makes me think "God I hate this game."
