I feel like I'm the only one who likes it..
I mean it certainly is different, and I'm still not too sure about Bloodletter activating during a cast, but... overall I really do feel a damage increase.
Everyone else's thoughts?

Well i really have no thoughts on it as i decided to cap blm, level Dk and astrolgian so i will get it but just not right away, lol
Were you able to try bard lb yet? :)
Yeah, only the first two levels.
They are both straight line AOEs. Very nice...but.... if you move/change direction during it you have the possibility to completely miss your target. (I've done this twice..oops).
ALMOST wish there was an animation lock but I think this can be solved by locking onto the target (have yet to try it though).
Also with LB2 a bard literally just pulls guns out of their bum. It's great.
SS proc is insta-cast. So it's great.
Unless it's a bug, and SE shuts it down...
ooh sounds awesome :D
I'm honestly unsure of the validity of Wanderer's Minuet. I'm not sure a 20% damage buff is a big enough increase to warrant a complete loss of auto-attacks and the potential loss of damage when you are forced to move. Of course, the expansion's literally been out for less than 24 hours and I only just got the song, so it's useless from a level 52's standpoint. On the flip-side, if every other Bard ability requires the activation of this song then we'll be forced to use it. Has anyone tried using Barrage while the song is active in order to see if it triples the damage output or something awesome?
Activate Barrage. Have three crits in a row. :(
Yeah, Barrage is great with the song.
It's not sarcasm, I activated Barrage+Bloodletter and...boom headshot. Dead in a hit, though I'm thinking there was a crit somewhere in there...still.
Barrage does not proc if you get a crit so the sad face was intentional. However - with buffs and Barrage+Empyreal Arrow I am getting around 3-3.5k damage burst which is insane. I am spending a lot more time in Wanderer's than I thought I would, it is quite a sizeable dps increase if you can sit in it for 20 secs or more and with the changes to Barrage and Det not affecting auto attacks so strongly then there is no point even considering the loss of auto attack damage as it's no where near as strong as it was pre-3.0.
Wanderer's is a dps increase but in terms of what the optimal opener is, I'm not sure yet.
Also. There is gap between when your attack cast ends and when the GCD is off cooldown- which in my case is enough to get one or two abilities off- including Bloodletter. So weaving the skills between the casts is a thing you can do, and not interrupt the GCD at all.
I rather like it as well, as long as they keep Bloodletter and Misery's End the way they are now, so I can keep using macro's.
Upon hearing about the Minuet change, i immediately decided that i would drop BLM and go back with Bard, my first class when i joined.
I love running around and pressing buttons, but WM is a pretty significant playstyle change that makes the class feel alot more fleshed out.
I'm a fan. Bards have a HUGE amount of burst.
Pro tip: Using a straight shot proc while under WM, your straight shot proc doesn't get a cast time.
so far so good ^^
the real fun begins when you get the new skills it seems. there is so much going on.
the cast time isnt so bad. and there is a gap before GCD comes up after casting a skill you can squeeze 1 offgcd skill/buff in between.
Emprial Arrow + Barrage = 3k dmg! at level 54. you better quelling strikes before it >< (instant agro pull)
and man oh man dont get me started on Rain of Death changes.
have 3 mobs in dungeon. dot them. and watch it RAAAAAAAAAAIN ARROWS! proc after proc. (my build is so high on crit i get rain of death every other shot lol).
our AOE dmg has improved with this change alot. without the penalty of tp loss.
Minuet is really bad for single target but good for aoe. I'm sure the buff alone is not even worth using outside of aoe situations. That's why they force you to be in minuet to be able to use the new skills. I wish we had the new skills and no minuet at all. Obviusly with the new skills it makes it worth using it but that's not thanks to minuet.
how are you guys weaving Empyreal Arrow??
im making sure im aligning it with Barrage.
iv been replacing HS every time EA is up. due to it being off GCD it finish the cast early. then i immediately followup with HS.
the best situation however is to use it when you have a straighter shot (no cast) and weave it before your next heavy shot.
I'm kinda okay with it since the 20% boost is applied to everything else to make up for the auto attack lost, also the rain of death changes lets me spam aoe with more damage and for free. The things that I don't like much is the 1.5 second cast time slightly slowing down my skill weaving with Bloodletter/Rain of Death as sometimes I get two or three times Bloodletter reset during casting time so that's a somewhat a DPS lost, it will be good if its 1 second cast (or 0.5 lol).
There is no real choice as empyrial arrow(powerfull and somewhat offcooldown ability)/iron jaws (free extend of dots, very powerfull especially if dots have buffs appllied)/sidewinder (strongest attack from bard arsenal) usable only under minuet.
Cast time on abilities is 1.5 sec so bard still have a room for 1 ofcd ability per each cast.
No crits for barrage.
As I'm only 53, I'm still on the fence about it. With the over all changes to Barrage, RoD, and as new abilities coming in I'm still working over how to weave it together. Depending on how it works out I see a possible reimagining of stats when gearing brd (no longer full on det/crit heavy but a mix in of SS due to DoT proc being affected).
Funny enough though, ran into a few that don't look at anything outside of their own job then accuse a person of being bad cause they see 3 or 4 RoD in a row on group of mobs. Yup, Mr. oblivious, I just 'wasted all my tp to spam RoD' so I must suck *rolls eyes*/sarcasm
Lovin the song. Honestly it may seen like there is no dps gain but imo the song starts to shine when you get EA and IJ. As someone stated. Barrage with EA does like 3k+. IJ literally makes it where BRD has infinite amount of TP. I was able to attack a dummy for 9 minutes. Before id be out of tp by 4 minutes. Imo with EA and IJ only being only WM skills it's definitely worth the auto attack lost. Your giving up auto attack for a 240 potency every 15 seconds
I don't get it honestly. I see people gushing about it and their new DPS number and i just think "But what about the play style shift?". It feels nothing like Bard anymore and instead is some sort of weird persuadeo caster job, and thats just not what Bard is to me. And no for FUCK sake it's not about not being able to move as much. If you took the same idea of not being able to use abilities while moving but REMOVED the cast bar i think i would be happy.
Yep, you can't make two full circles round the mob while doing the opener anymore. And so what?
I mained BRD all the time, and I feel very comfortable with wm. I actually appreciate it. After playing white mage for some time and raising it up to 52, I actually like the idea of BRD's being forced to stay on one damn place and feel at least some pain of cast times and trying to move as less as it's humanly possible.
As a bard who didn't see the need to run around constantly like a headless chicken, minuet is amazing. Is it REALLy that much of a style change? U can interrupt those casts after like 1 second or so and get the hit ( stutter cast for you blms alts )
only 55 atm but opening like:
(RS/HE/BL) SS (IR/B4B) WB (FA) VB (B)EA( repel)HS, clip dots etc
Ironjaw is going to be such a luxury <3 Cliping dots with 1 gcd<3 I guess sidewinder will replace the heavy shot after emperyal,( the time saved with ironjaw should allow this with buffs ofc) but idk anything about this skill yet. Is it an ogcd? Will it have a cast time in minuet? We know barrage wont affect it at least since it is an ability and not a weaponskill.
I was originally very worried about needing to use oGCDs in gcd time, but seeing as cast times are 1.5s/2.5s im very happy. makes me really wonder if bards will prefer sksp or det. The det nerf wont affect bards since we don't aa anyways.....but sksp has a new affect added to dots.....o?
Pretty sure we will never turn minuet off ever again. The damage boost from it is probably just meant to balance lack of AAs and make up for some of the lost dps when moving, but all the new skills require minuet active, and that is the reason we will never ever turn it off. People talk about turning it off for movement heavy fights but what u think blms have been doing in movement heavy fights? They learn how to move as little as possible. It will take a lot more effort for bards to optomise a fight now, compared to pre 3.0
I have some quetions about "Wanderer's Minuet" Is the song best not to use all the time, meaning will it out put lower dps in time due to how long you use it combate compared to the faster combate with the song off / or does it not matter if you used it all the time ?
And if in short bust is it best to use on boses and hard adds?
The thing with with minuet, it made applying VB and WB pretty slow with cast time ans apply on muilt-target.
Never really applied it to multiple targets in the first place, takes up time that could be used in killing your current target or using AoE attacks.
Of course, that might have been me playing wrong, feel free to correct me on that.
What the fuck is wrong with people. Every time i bring up how much i hate WM and the new Bard i specifically state ITS NOT ABOUT NOT BEING ABLE TO MOVE yet somehow that always seems to be the point people want to bring up.
Because it's nothing like BLM cast times. I play BLM sometimes to offset boredom when I'm farming things, and there's no breathing room for moving. You move, you start over, that's it. The only spell that has no cast time is Scathe.
If you accidentally move during an attack with WM, you may have some abilities ready to use, so it's not completely a crapshoot if you mess up, not to mention if you decide in a millisecond that movement is important, boom song off and back to running around.
I personally don't mind gameplay changes. Whatever the game throws at me, I'll try to utilize it to my best ability to do my best.
Am I the only one who picked bard to play because I like archery/bow classes?
I am? Oh, okay.
Anyone able to provide some parses with WM up?
Is anyone else having problems with bloodletter resetting and glitching out making you unable to use any skills until bloodletter is back off cooldown?
