Level Needed To Ride Chocobo?

Does anyone know if there's been any info regarding the level needed to actually ride your own Chocobo?

I believe they said something about level 30 for the quest?
Or maybe it was around 20.

EDIT: Well sifting through the updates and letters doesn't reveal much, but I could have sworn I heard there was a quest in the 20-30 range for personal chocobos.

I don't remember them giving an exact level for the GC Chocobos, but I swear I remember them saying rentals are available at all ranks.

Well I'm 30 right now. So hopefully 30 it is!

if there is a limit to My Little Chocobo, it'll only be for the quest as given the armory system there would be no point in having a minimum level for merely riding it

and my highest is 40, so hopefully it's 40 lolololololololu

lvl 1? yeah okay.

at least lvl 15 unlock would be nice.
not like it would take long anyhow, just 2-3 hours if that to get to 15.

I'd feel sorry for any new players that took up gathering then...

They'd be chopping trees till the end of time screaming "Give me mah chocoboooooo!!!" XD

we'd see a giant increase in low level wood lol

To have people 'looking forward to' ride a chocobo, i think level 20 is reasonnable. Too early would remove any 'urge' to be bale to ride one when seeing the others and level 30 maybe a bit too late because of the time it takes to get there (for the most impatient ones).

Then I wouldn't have keep trying to kill mountains just to get blacksmithing up a few ranks.

Thing is would it consider the class at which you're the highest rank, or would it just be the rank of the class you're currently playing? 'cos it'd be a tad annoying have to keep switching to your highest ranked class just to travel somewhere a bit faster.

Hmm. I think in XI you had to be equipped 15+ job.
I could be very wrong.
I'd say once you unlock it with one 15-20+ job you shouldnt have to change.
But, who knows.

A quest to unlock it would be interesting, no?

Indeed, some little comedy chocobo quest just to put in some humour before you get to ride your birdy would be nice. Or at least some funny cut-scene like the first time your character gets on the chocobo they fall off and the chocobo sits on them then your character waves their arms around shouting "get orf ya fat lump!" XD

Id be ok with lvl 15 for rentals and lvl 30 for personal. Both having quests. Lvl 15 quest would be simple like go harvest 10 gysahl greens and give to npc. Cutscenes in between and cliffhanger leading to grand company ones. Quest for personal could be an item from instanced raid of beast tribe area. Like collect rare beast tribe af from lvl 35 beast tribe nm. Could be a map or something that would give the company an advantage. You know something that is simple but takes just a bit of effort. Also airship quests should be similar. Basically do a one time quest and your reward is an airship pass. That would go a long way to providing players with basic quest = rewards gameplay. A sense of accomplishment if you will. Can't wait because it feels like it will be this coming week.

We get our personal chocobo from the companies. And you need R22 to make the first company quests. I would say R25+ for My chocobo

I remember a letter from the producer saying that chocobos will be available even to the lowest of levels, but personal chocobo might be 20..

I hope it's at least 25+ so that newer players have something to look forward to.

Since SP rebalancing and fatigue removing, getting to 20 is pretty much a joke, it takes no time at all.
