I've been playing BLM as alt in FCoB for a while and I've never realized it costs so much to cast without proc D:

Thats actually thunder 2, and you never casted thunder 2 in any situation ever anyway. These are mana costs at 60 btw not 50. Take into account we will have around 11.6k mp as BLMs. That 1k turns into the roughly the same 8% of base mana that thunder 2 is now.

Good point. I'm still not too used to seeing myself having a whooping 10K+ HP and 10K+ MP at expac. That's mother of god of a jump. Heck, I've seen that Astrologian stats. 800+MND and 1138 Magic Defense? Assuming same stats on a WHM I'd probably be able to eat Ark Morn and Cure II bomb myself D:

The nerf of flare will be mainly noticed in dungeons, in for example FCOB you dont really get to flare more then 2-3 targets at the same time, i can only think of 2 instances.
The first week(s) in t12 where you had 5 bennus in the add phase and twin+gust+blood/sin combo in the add phase in t13 other than that it was normally just 2 targets. (not counting speedkill strat in t10 :p)
So for raiding purposes this will probably not be a big deal.

Damn. I already miss mass pulls and Flare nuke :(

Just slow´s speedruns, still massive potency, a little annoyance, not more...

When you can´t pull out big numbers because of that nerf, go Monk and have a excuse for not AoEing xD

This is likely an effort to bring Flare more in line with the new Tri-disaster + Bane. It'd still be far more powerful if it affected all mobs equally.

Monk are going to be pretty decent with AoE'ing in heavensward.
Elixier Field has a potency of 220 is AoE oGCD and has a recast time of 30 seconds, combine that with Earthbreaker and Howling fists and we get some pretty nice numbers.

That's Thunder 2. Thunder 3 has a swirly icon. And Thunder 2 can be cast during the Bliz3 phase.

the flare nerf is annoying as really its not like we can infinity cast it anymore or have been able to in forever.

really it was something we can cast every 10 secs or so in a proper aoe rotation and on occasion double or triple cast it.

also with the enemies increased hp flare just seems to be a puny comparison of itself now, even more so since atleast right now we cant pull very much, maybe in future dungeons they will allow mass pulls cus if they don't accommodate people who like to speed run dungeons they will find less people going into them for random runs,

I think a good mix of slower and possible to speed run dungeons is the best choice for the game its allows all types of players have something in the game they like.
