Ok? So....you cancelled because RNGesus isn't your deity of choice.
Okay? I spent like four weeks getting my healer chest, multiple runs daily.
That's how RNG works and that's why they've addressed it in the expansion..................
Ignoring the trolls, i'm actually asking for help. I'm angry and it came out wrong.
I spent a couple of hours playing Dragon Age. Wasn't boring but i realize i'll miss FFXIV.
I do fortune telling. I know what random is. This is not random, some pieces drop all the time, others never. Had 3/4 bard drops in a party with 1 bard and 4 casters. odds for that are about 1/1000. It happened again recently, without the 1000 runs in between. Now i should be good for 2000, or am i?
I don't want to quit, but i can't keep playing this parody either.
Googled this rng changes for havensward. Tokens? Like sands of time?
This basically means i'm rolling against 8 players everytime something drops. Why not remove the option to roll need while you're at it. It doesn't make sense anymore.
You cancelled your pre order because you didn't get a drop that the preorder will make obsolete within a week?

This has the loot tables, The reason why you're having such a hard time getting your boots is because they're a 1/11 drop and only drop from the Cloud herself. There's literally 7 different armor sets in WoD spread across 4 bosses, you can't honestly expect to see all of a specific class' loot in just a week. Unless you're trying to get a glamour set, I wouldn't complain that you didn't get your boots in a single week when you chose to finally get around to 5 month old content. You also only need an item level of ~90 in order to progress into Heavensward, so overgearing yourself right before an expansion was your first mistake. Your second was making an "I quit" thread complaining that you didn't get your boots in a week of farming.
If you need the boots as an upgrade, then you should spend some of your capped Poetics (Since you mentioned capping them) and purchase a pair of boots from the Poetics vendor. Use a carbontwine if you have one on them (From doing the weekly) and you will have a better set of boots than what drops in WoD.
With it only being one week from Official launch (3 days from early access), I wouldn't sweat farming gear from WoD unless you really need it to progress in 3.0 Main Scenario.
Since you said you are asking for help then i shall give some advice. Play in moderation. It's an MMO. RNG is always here to stay. Balance out your play time and grind the raid at a less vicious rate and before you know it... it might just finally drop in a run or two and pray you get the highest roll. Or do some other things in game rather then keep going at WOD again and again and again and completely kill a great game for yourself because you will end up hating it like you did before you posted this topic.
It's not worth it
No, actually, it's genuinely random. And that's the thing. Genuinely random does not care what your party composition is, what dropped before, what you want, or anything. The boots of strike are, quite simply, a 1/11 chance every single time you defeat Cloud. That's not "I will get this in eleven tries" - that's a 1/11 chance every time. End sentence. If a piece of loot dropped from that chest twice in a row, that means literally nothing - because it's the exact same odds as any other combination that could occur. I've probably been to WoD about 50 times since its release and I only today for the first time saw the tank helm... and the tank belt probably eight out of the last ten runs. That's what randomness looks like. And it's a fickle jerk of a beast, but it is what it is.
A week? Come back when you see the instance behind your eyelids everytime you blink. Ran wod well over 100 times. Tank chest didn't want to drop. Enjoy the journey otherwise you will find yourself all geared up and wondering what the point was. The point is in the how. But yeah, poetics is your answer.
If you haven't done your entire relic, you don't know what RNG is lol. I've got Zeta, it's a pain the arse.
And honestly, like others have said, unless you're doing it just for the glamour, I'd just spend your poetics.
lol @ the drama... Why not use those poetics to get the better gear anyways? I've run WoD a lot more than you and still haven't completed a set. How is that such a big deal? If you are going to quit over that, you never liked this video game anyways. You just need to go find a phone game that gives you shiney things. You'd be just as happy.
k, trolls.
i'm off to archage
While there were plenty of trolls, the right answer was also in the thread as well. Poetics. That's what the tome system is for: you keep running content trying to get a drop but if you don't get the drop you want then you've been building tomes and can buy equivalent gear that's guaranteed. You're obviously not concerned about BiS cause the Demon boots of striking are not BiS so you're just looking for the higher ilvl from your current gear. That's accomplished with the Poetics with the added benefit of being able to upgrade to 130 with a carbontwine. Either that or you're just looking for the glamour but there are certainly other options.
Also in regards to HW tokens, I don't think you have to roll against everyone else. I believe it will be like the Shiva EX drop where everyone gets a token every kill, kill it a certain number of times and you're guaranteed your piece. I could be wrong, though.
thanks for the helpful answer dement.
EDIT: i knew about poetics and i was using it. But with gear tables being what they are, i was saving it for the right side upgrades which can not be obtained in WoD.
