Good luck. Just, good luck.
Also as an aside, unless you can somehow twist this into FFXIV related content- it will be deleted :p. Say, the likelihood of an FFVII event?
Edit:
Oh, I see the duplicates incoming. Never mind, they'll all probably get deleted then (becomes forum spam, like "RIP" threads). Please be careful posting these/spamming them. Unless one becomes purposefully about FFXIV I'm out lol.
We know already. Yes, I'm excited too, but this is the FFXIV forum. Unless it somehow related to XIV, this thread is just going to be deleted like all the others.
I would love a FFVII crossover event. Maybe Tifa or Aerith armor for women?
Well, I am quite sceptical...
Whilst I really am happy about the improved graphics and tunes, I think I might really miss the unique blocky style that really contributed to the amtosphere of the game.
I fear a epileptical light show like advent children, hope they really keep the feeling of the source material...
And while i am excited like anyone else, a foul feeling of "let´s squeeze it ´til its dry" comes up...
but that´s truly not a SE mistake, the whole gaming-industry seems to dried up, big studios just HD-remastering their old cash-cows or bringing "new and innovative" games which feel like a old cash-cow with a new skin...
Hopefully it's only me but when I see that trailer I can't help but imagine FFVII Remake is going to be action based not turn
While loved by fans, the Turn-Based Battle Systems are early FF´s most downside.
I have to argue over that every time with my girlfriend or other gaming friends.
"how can you play this... it´s just hit a button and wait what he does, you do nothing, there is no skill in this, blah blah"
What really pushed ME of the FF-Train, it was the "every-time-re-invention" of a turn based system, morphing slowly to action based gameplay in every release...
Final Fantasy 13 being the end of that Era, and being reached it´s very bottom at lightning returns, which would be better of with DMC Gameplay than this foul hybrid with some "turn-based" touch...
Not needed at all (Both thread AND the remake).
Thing that caught my eye was at the end "Play it first on PS4". Sounds like they will port it to other systems as well later.
As long as they keep the open worldness of 7, I'll defiitly get it if/when it is released for the PC.
I am very disappointed this is a thing now. Sick and tired of all the VII love... - .-;
The people who love I mean really love FFVII don't love it for the game play persay its more of the story I never played it before and I can't drag my self to play a turn based game unless its Pokemon so I would love it if it was action based.
Look at the facts people rpgs have evolved from turn based to action and FFXV looks like it's doing a good job of it.
The one problem with remakes is its hard I think to absolutely please all of the people who played the original so I think it targets more of the people who have never played it before which is fine because it gives people like me the chance to play a game like FFVII as the current generation of rpgs I love.
I'm with you.
Developing FFVII with FFXV's combat system would be a very poor move- the system hasn't really been fully shown to the public, they have NO idea how it will be received....
And besides, you REALLY want a system that limits you to playing just one character????
No thanks, I'll take my traditional turn based combat please :3 I'm by no means hyped for this remake, it seems unnecessary. I will still play it though- and I wish to be able to control Tifa and Cid's actions as well as Cloud's.
Major buzzkill...advent children was actually not a light show if you paid any attention, it was actually quite drab and dull.
The only "light shows" i can think of were megaflare, kadajas magic, his soul when it was relinquished and that's it really. And they are such small things.
What do you mean "dried up", this is not the companies fault its the consumer. Sony is innovating in their department, microsoft is continuing to release sequels because it works for them, nintendo...yeah they're there still...and i don't see anything wrong with remakes at all. It's a good filler for companies while they work on their major titles, and it gives consumers a chance to play all those great titles that were before their generation.
PLEASE KEEP ANYTHING RELATED TO FINAL FANTASY 13 AWAY FROM FFVII!. That combat system was absolutely shocking, if anything they should be taking notes from bravely default.
i love the 7 too but i am also sick of all that people. if you like the 7 play the 7 and don't ask for cloud weapon here, tifa outfit there, nanaki mount (what the hell, nanaki is a PERSON, not a mount...) and crossevent on top of that. have i said sephiroth? whatever...
Oh don't misunderstand! I don't want XIIIs combat, I want to be able to control all the characters again! I just used that as an example of speedier turn based combat for those who complain VIIs old combat system was too slow. I'd be happy if they left it the same altogether personally. While some people argue it was boring at that speed, I liked the strategy involved. If you used the wrong moves it could be the death of your party.
Im pretty sure they will not deviate from the turn based combat but instead evolve it to something more fast pace for todays audience. However if anyone here has played Crisis Core for the PSP (ff7 prequel) then you will know that a action based game in the ff7 universe is still something pretty fun. Either way i thin SE knows the gold mine the are sitting on and will treat it accordingly... lets just hope it don't take them 10 years to figure out how to do that lol.
I don't care because I know it's gonna be butchered, and I've already played the original to death.
Alright and i wasn't trying to attack YOU personally, i just completely disagree with XIII...yeah i wouldn't mind if they used the old system but with a few tweaks here and there :).
One thing i reeaaallly hope they keep is the materia system, please for the love of god SE KEEP THE MATERIA SYSTEM!. It was a pinnacle point of character progression in that game.
