lol, maybe! It's okay though! Though the description of this event leaves VERY MUCH to be desired... I am going uhhhh what? Wondering if it is a nice event to get seals and buy a limited time availabilty Item's with them? I have no idea...

edit: by "everyone asking about", I mean I have seen it mentioned many time's that people were curious what they would do to celebrate the 1 year anniversary of FFXIV's release.

I've seen quite a few people saying they want something to happen for the 1 year anniversary.
Anyway, what is this event for? Looks like joining one of the companies but that sounds too good to be true xD

Gridania must still be in the stone age, they must not have the technology to create nice neat pressed coins. I'm resigning my commission with the Twin Adder and hightailing it over to a more civilized bunch with the Immortal Flames or the Maelstrom.

marking the possible release of 1.19? They did say they wanted many of the things in 1.19 to be done by "end of summer" and with summer officially ending on the 22'nd this sure seems to fit right in with the timeline.

I was thinking Oct 5th for 1.19 personally though I'd be pretty much blown away if they get us it on the 21st

Seems very likely. Also, the 'reward' seems simply to officially join the grand company (and maybe get an unique mission for the event), which would make sense if it's right after the update.

A good deal of us thought the 22nd was their goal from the announcement of 1.19 coming in Sept., simply because it marks the year anniversary of the game...although there's been no solid info posted yet.

I wonder what this means for 1.19. I don't think they have ever had a patch during an event, have they? If so then the 21st would be our day for 1.19, either that or it wouldn't be till October 12. Of course maybe it doesn't mean anything...

I think the only real bit of what the event might entail is in the picture of the currency for the GC's... beyond that it was just an article stating "The Grand Company's will be officially founded and accepting PERMANANT member's into their ranks on the 22nd"

As far as I know, they haven't ever done a patch mid-event. However, the current event ends on Sept. 20th, and the new events permanently inducting folks into GCs starts the 22nd. Since they said permanent GC induction would be coming concurrent to 1.19 (although not with), one can only make an educated guess that the 22nd is D-day for 1.19.

How fitting that this event falls on FFXIV's 1 year anniversary!

This also means that patch 1.19 will be implemented by Sept 22 (why the hell would there be recruitment officers there if we don't get the option to choose our GC; which is a feature tied directly as part of 1.19)

Considering most patches have been released on a Thursday in the past (Friday morning in Japan) , I'd be willing to bet that the 22nd is patch day. If it's not the 22nd, it'll be the 29th.

Personally, I like the surprise. I'd rather find out on my own what the event entails, instead of knowing in advance exactly what I'm going to be doing.

They expect you to experience it yourself. It's why I like XI/XIV's event setups, because it doesn't spill everything and actually makes you want to try it out.
