Not sure if this was answered but is HW the only content that we will be able to earn EXP from post level 50?
2.) What is the expected time line of 3.1?

A Dev rep mentioned that Hildibrand Season 2 is in development so we may see Hildy Season 2 Episode 1 in 3.1. Hopefully Hildy Season 2 gives everyone the /adjustglasses emote that has been desired since Season 1.
Another thing mentioned a while back was the first part of the new 24 member raid.
I can't imagine that you will be able to level anything beyond 50 without the expansion. It is likely locked behind the storyline content/quests/new areas in some way. I do not believe this was confirmed anywhere but it wouldn't make sense to be able to really.
ok you guys are not answering the question.
Im asking if i have Hw will i get eXP from 2.0 content?
and 2nd is 3.1 expected 3 months after june 23rd or sooner?
While they haven't given a definite answer to whether or not 2.x content gives you exp past level 50, they have confirmed activating the expansion will immediately raise the level cap.
"Once you register Heavensward, the level cap will be increased and you can start to earn experience points. You won't have to complete any special quests."
Technically they do give exp, as spiritbind and gear wear are based on exp gain, though SB has content level conditions as well. You just don't see the exp gain, because you are at the cap.
yes you get exp from 2.0 content to lv 50 but noone knows yet if you get exp from lv 50 may get from lv 50 monsters and lv 50 fates, but some if not all 2.0 lv 50 dungeons will be locked to give exp to lv 50 for some time from june 19, no ide how long that will be in place. your second question i don't know hope that helps :)
THANK YOU GUYS!
Try looking at what you said and see why it might be hard to understand what you were trying to say. What you should of asked was "Will we be able to gain xp in 2.0 zones and from older content or will we only be able to level within HW zones."
If that's what you were asking then the answer is you will be able to gain xp in 2.0 areas if mobs are high enough, from FATEs and even the only MS quest will have xp rewards added to them to help new players level up and gain a slight starting point when they finally enter HW content.
i saw some interview thingie, where they said it won't give XP, since that would make ppl go back and do that, for easier XP. so they want ppl to go to HW content, to lv up.
but i'm sure the pre-50 content will give xp, as before. but lv 50 dungeons never had any real XP, since the cap was 50 anyway.
SB is based on lv difference between gear and mobs. your gear will loose durability by just healing out of combat, so it's not based on XP.
Yeah the +.1 patches come every 3 months not every single month. I wish... >_>;
Yeah its 3 months between patches and 1 month between sub patches. We will get normal Alexander two weeks after release and savege alexander plus the new frontline area two weeks after that.
Regarding your EXP question:
Yoshi during interviews have stated that the Main Story will have the EXP rewards implemented/adjusted for higher yields. This to me infers that you WILL be able to level up to 60 before you even step into Heavensward. If there IS a Level Cap break, I'm sure it will be tied to the Job Quest and not Ishgard, considering it wouldn't make sense to "increase your level" using the MSQ.
***
I for one have 16 leves completed, 6 Beast Tribe Quests completed, and a couple 4X quests completed in my Quest Log to turn in for instant Level 51 when the expansion hits. However, if it doesn't work for whatever reason, I'll just discard the quests. No harm done preparing.
It's been explicitly stated that there is no quest or mechanic to increase your level cap to 60, it is simply increased automatically if you have the expansion registered to your account. The only mention of older content not giving XP was with regards to the host of level 50 dungeons that we have as they feared many players would simply farm them to get to 60 instead of doing new content. They will give no XP rewards after 3.0 launches but this will be restored at some undefined point in time later on.
The 2.x series MSQs will be giving new XP and loot rewards now though so it is expected that a new player will actually be around level 52 or so by the time they finish the 2.55 story (assuming they already had the expansion registered).
all of you who keep saying "its 3 months its 3 months" get told

As people keep saying the schedule is currently to keep the existing pattern, 3.X patches should be every 3 months, which atm that puts us at about the 2 year anniversary for 3.1. However, having experienced 2.0 launch, which ended up being 6 months from launch to 2.1. I suspect they are better prepared this time, but expecting this to be flawless would just be silly. So I'd say 3.1 would be the end of september at the latest.
What is frontline open area I wonder? And for OP I would assume you could get exp from the wanderers palace, how much I'm not sure since it's a level 50 and we never gained any in it.
