Pretty sick of T5

I now consider this a pretty problematic content wall with Heavensward early access approaching and I fear I will be horribly behind.

It's not just the fight that is blocking the rest of the game, it's the player base. I've gotten only a handful of parties to join this fight, and they either vote abandon after one or two defeats, or we don't even get close to 50% of the fight several times before I leave. Hell, it's not even that. I ask people if they want to run t5 and most times, nobody answers. I asked my free company and one just happened to answer while I was stuck in the greatest dungeon of all time, Thousand Maws of Absolute Boredom. At Graffias, they left and I tried out party finder. A raid group joined and then left before I could que because of some duty finder glitch causing them to lose someone or whatever.

The fight itself isn't as much of a problem as getting a group and getting them to stay until we defeat Twintania. I know about the hole and what to do to avoid divebombs at least. I've seen twisters probably once or twice, and all I remember is a party wipe. I imagine if I got a team who didn't vote abandon after a few defeats, we could take down Twin but nobody feels like staying long enough to learn the fight.

Definitely doesn't help when Twin has so much HP, too. Gets pretty boring, so I don't blame the people who vote abandon too much.

So here's are my questions -

If you are on my server (Adamantoise), would you like to help destroy this abomination? If not, what is the best course of action to get a team that will not vote abandon?

Awww my FC just started 4 manning T5, but you are across servers. However, think of it like this t1-13 are supplements. It's not something to stress about and you wont be behind. Its really closure for the 1.x people. If you want put it on hold get to 60 and then get people to help if I remember correctly they are not putting level synch on the coils.

I was just thinking maybe if you issued a challenge and you time fights to see which group can get you through the as a 5 person team. And you spend a day and you time it and see who can do it while you wait outside the arena and time them record it and then announce the winners on the server forums. Try something like that, its a fun way to do old content.

I thought T5 was required since the next story quests don't open up until I unlock the next turn.

Nope. Coils are not required at all unless that changed.

Coils are not needed to do anything in Heavensward. You just have to complete the Main Story and that doesn't require you to beat coils either.

Actually, looking at a list of quests again, I don't know where I am. I've done a few quests to unlock hard mode primals and one time, when I checked when the next quest opened up, it said a prerequisite was the quest 'Another turn in the Coil'.

Now I don't see that quest, so...

These are apparently what I've been doing. So, yeah. I've barely gotten anywhere in the endgame questline. Ok, me. So screw Twin for now.

To reiterate what most have said Coil isn't required however if you think Twin has a lot of health you are in for a shock at some of the other fights. She doesn't really and a good group with 130 gear tears through her. Sadly you aren't on Pheonix or I would say hit me and my FC up and we'll tear her a new one with you. If you decide to go back to it, try to control the fight more, lead it bark orders if you have to and set up macros for the mechanics. The jps do massively better at raid content for this reason among others. Don't give up though. All else fails a server transfer isn't that expensive I'll even run you through second coil lol.

O were u that person i saw? I just shouted hey i need a clear for fc mate, any help would be appreciated. Shouted in some Ls/ mor
Filled up in a few mins, we went in we wiped a few times but got it done and found out there were 2 other ppl who needed tht clear besides my fc mate. Lol they were all happy so yea maybe try a bit harder in getting a party.
Also no coils are not required for heavensward.

It seems some servers have it worse than others with this stuff - on Cerberus it isn't too hard to find decent PF parties to take it down. To be fair, I think the fight is actually harder now than it used to be - being 40-50 iLvls higher plus echo means that phase progression is insanely fast. That, coupled with the fact that even seasoned players sometimes get a divebomb or a twister wrong and you have a pretty messy result at times.

Well, Twintania back in the day seemed to have endless HP. But with Echo at 20% and ilvl130 gear and 135 weapons, people can reap her a new one in record times.

That aside, Coils of Bahamut is a sidestory, not part of the Main Storyline, so its not obligatory. If you're familiar with Final Fantasy, you should know that most of the games had what's called superbosses, which are optional content. The Coils and Extreme Primals are just that.

Oh, and if you think Twintania has HP, just wait until you make it to turn 13

I'll add you and stuff. Doing main quest again and stuff, but I'll try Twintania until that thing is destroyed.

Well, considering I haven't just been outright obliterated with no chance to survive like I've been against Proto-Babil or Ruby Weapon, I'd say it's not exactly a superboss. Maybe if it started off with twisters.

Not sure if it had changed but you need the final turn to progress into the next. So T5 needed to unlock second coil, T9 to unlock final coil, etc.
Again i am not 100% certain on that. Coil is a seperate story from the main story, but nice to see:)
Oh and T9 is harder then 5 but ironically T10 and 11 are easier then 9, lol

Yep, you need to defeat Twintania for coil 2 as far as I know.

yea u need t5 > t9 > t13
but they are all side and do not effect getting into ishgard

You can always pay a group of pro players. Or you can just give up.

I actually, T5 is my favorite one. Just because Divebombs / Twisters are so hilarious.
I just love it.

My best advice is to put a PF.
If you've been far enough into it to beat it
Just say Need Clear/Been to Twisters/Come get glamour!
