My Interpretation of Countdown Illustration 9

Somehow, I interpreted this picture as Batman saving Catwoman, since it's a Dark Knight saving a Miqo'te.

P.S. The Miqo'te is missing a tail!

looks like a pally more than anything.

I can see the Batman/Cat woman thing going too, although the tail could be hidden infront of her/behind his arm since he is holding that general area. I really love the countdown pics they do.

It looks like more he is kidnapping her if not worse.

His armor looks fairly sharp as well, I hope he hasn't just impaled her on it... That shoulder pad looks sharp, hope he hasn't hit her brachial artery or something...

What happened to her tail?

This looks like a paladin sans shield to me. It looks like he swooped up the girl from an off picture threat. Real white knight there.

Looks more like a Paladin then a Dark Knight. A blond hero with silver armour and a sword that fits more like a 1H sword then a 2H sword. Its your sterotypical white knight.

I think it's a new glamour for paladin shields.

Paladin: "Nope! Mine!"

Mi'qote: "OWWWW You're Crushing my Tail!!! OWWWWW!!!!"

Looks more like a PLD... doing what a PLD does best to me, lol. I always did imagine my PLD doing this with any party member that had Cover activated on them by either shoving or grabbing them out of the way of the attack and taking the blow instead. Though it could be a DRK too.

lolz at the missing tail on the Miqo'te. I'm willing to bet it's just simply covered by the PLDs arm though. (Swell place to grab her there PLD)

It looks like a paladin cause it is a paladin. The sword is the new relic they have shown and his gear is the af2.

actually her surprised look doesn't take into account that she is actually the Raid's main tank and the skimpy outfit is just a glamour, its more like "Put me down you idiot, I'm gonna lose control of the Boss" :D

It looks like a Miqo'te female trying to be more human by cutting off her tail and cropping her ears

Perhaps she chose a new Manx or Bobtail type tail that will be introduced in Heavensward?

It's the style, they are most likely quick illustrations for the countdown so they most likely did what first came to mind and upon working the figures in their head they didn't realize the mistakes they made until it was done. With the hand it's very plausible that since they already placed it where the tail should be they could go back and change it but they were already set on making the character of miquote so they just left it as is.

Similarly if you go back and look at the Summoner illustration you'll notice the awkward position the left leg is in, odds are they actually wanted the right leg to cover up the left leg as if the left leg was resting on the right thigh but instead it looks like the left leg is just hovering in a very awkward position. Honestly try it for yourself and you will quickly realize how uncomfortable it is to have your leg in such a position, especially when reading a book.

Honestly, when I saw the picture I first gave a nod, "Stereotypical Japanese view of the knight, check." then I started trying to debug what she's wearing. There's coatee set gloves, coatee set shoes, RSE smallclothes top... skirt's got me a bit thrown, though. I want to say it's the coatee set skirt, but there's no leggings as normal for the coatee skirt. Mayhaps the level 15 dungeon DD skirt?

I thought that for a second too but I guess I was hoping not, just because I like the concept art version more - reminds me of something a Garlean might wear maybe even judge like armor (the AF2 looks a bit too clean and the feathers over pronounced imo).

Could probably make a very similar look alike set with what we have in the game already. :p

The chest piece very much looks like the Hempen Camise for Miqo'tes, along with that very short pair of pants. (Hempen Bottoms. Kinda hard to tell since the PLD's arm is wrapped around that part of her, covering half of it) There's a few gloves that look like what she's got on in the pic. And while I can't think of any exact boots/shoes off the top of my head to compare to that pic, I'm sure there's a set of shoes in the game that looks similar to those said shoes in the pic. ;)
