More Breaking of Dragoon Stereotypes

It's unexpected but awesome moments like this when I can proudly say, I am doing my part to break the Dragoon stereotype.

getting commendations does nothing to break the stereotype. You can be the worst player in the world but a good personality will get you commendations.

We break stereotypes by being awesome. Out DPS'ing Monks, Ninjas, etc. while performing mechanics in raid scenarios. That's how I "Break the stereotype." :P

I break it by managing to off-tank Adds that the Tanks don't want to bother with, and not tanking the floor in the process :/

Or maybe the people who gives commendation is premade party?

Drgs take the whole drg stereotype thing far too seriously, and for whatever reason they see commendations as their only security to their insecurity, seeing as how this is the 2nd thread (that i know of) of a srs-biz-drg+commendations.

Commendations are more impacted by your personality and playstyle. I don't see why you have to turn this into a drg-stereotype topic.

A player getting +5 comms is nothing new. While its rare among majority of players, this is a regular occurrence for players that are a pleasure to be with in a DF scenario. Seeing as how you are so excited about it and feel the need to open the threshold to DRG-jokes, this is a rare occurrence for OP

When i play drg and i die, i always crack a lighthearted joke "wouldn't be a raid/party if the drg didn't die! :E" being the one i use the most.

Premade party members cant commend each other, there are other loop holes around it but its quite the effort to achieve those loopholes.

I keep saying -- DRG has the Ranger effect from EQ1 days attached to them. There is no escape from it once this starts. Rangers in EQ1 can OT nowadays, and they are STILL getting teased for "dying when someone passes gas" or "being sacrifices for the loot gods". XD

Dragoons will forever be to FFXIV what Hunters are to WoW.

No matter how much has changed, it will be a constant.

You really need to stop being so sensitive against the DRG comments. It's going to stick with us for

I prefer the following stereotype:

Walking into a bar in Vana'diel and being unable to tell if the Elezen (Elvaan) you are trying to pick up is a male or female.

Yeah, it's a going joke with my company where if we do Roulettes as a three person group when we get in the dungeon we'll comment, "Hello, someone's getting three commendations when we're done!" because, as has been said, can't give commendations to people in your premade party.

What I mean is maybe theres 7 persons as 1 party and to accomplish challenge log, 5 persons give commendation while the other isn't. I know 1 premade party can't give commendation to each other.

To be fair to the Elezen, they are far more attractive then their long lost twice removed cousins the Elvaan.

What they meant is that OP queued and happened to land in an instance with a 5 man premade.

that's what I usually get for making dragoon jokes.

I always give my com to the floor tank. They're sadly underappreciated.

I remember those days. I was not a Ranja but the ranja gate was the best...and yeah Rangers now a days are beast at lvl 105

The 'loldrg' has been around since XI, so~~ pretty sure it not going to go away. That said, I still have plenty of fun with it as its a job I liked since FF4.

Dragoon jokes are just a thing. If you start taking them personally you just look stupid, or like they hit a bit close to the mark.

Actually it was a 7 man pre-made party. 2 just didn't care to comm the dragoon.

What.. I thought lolnin was the new loldrg. I see nin's eat the floor far more then drgs ever did. loldrg isn't a thing anymore. Unless I see them jump back off titan's platform though... it's wild but I think most the issues with melee deaths is due to all the flashy crap going on with the GFX. It's so overpowering you can't see half the time when a AoE marker is going out.

And op should of just bumped his own thread sense its about the same freakin thing.

You are aware that if that was the case, that they could have just as easily chose not to give a commendation, right? You know that commendations are optional. They chose to give me a commendation.

Nah, its still fun to make fun of DRG. As its fun to make fun of most other melee DPS classes. Because people are just going to throw the melee dps stigma onto someone else. As we're the most likely to get hit by something awry, being so close to the action.

Really, between the loldps and the squishy mages, the only one that doesn't get this kind of jest are tanks.
