Using a Fantasia before 3.0 Maintenance

Hello friends,

I'm just wondering if it's safe to use a fantasia the night before 3.0. I'd really like to log into Heavensward with my Au Ra, but I'm not sure if it's the best idea to use the fantasia right before a maintenance.

Thoughts?

depending on the maintenance it can tend to not allow you to change yourself so you'd have to submit a ticket to SE to get a new one. :3 since this is a expansion it would be more then likely the fantasia useage may be invalidated.

the best thing to do to assure you don't lose a fantasia is to just wait until early access Log in use the fantasia then log out and change, if you don't want to log out enjoy your character for a day longer :3

My guess is that using a fantasia flips an "off" flag to "on" on your character, meaning it's something specifically saved to your character when you log out, meaning it *should* be safe from maintenances, even big ones like 3.0.

My second guess is that there are a lot of people who are going to be doing this and that there will be a big revolt and reimbursements having to be made if it *doesn't* work this way.

If you're worried enough to ask this on the forums, I would just wait.

I used it on the day that fantasia was unstackable and still haven't changed it yet. So gotta wait and see.

Well, I bought a Fantasia in December so I could change my Behemoth character to an Au Ra (though it turns out that I could have just spent the $10 on something else). Though I've "used" it, I haven't finalized changing the character's appearance. She's still waiting to become an Au Ra in 10 days.

My GF has used Fantasia on 2 of her characters just to keep the option open to change her characters at a later date, does this mean she will lose these when the expansion starts or would she retain these?

When I used a fantasia way BAAAACK when I started playing, I only used it to save space on inventory in-game.
The game tells you at the lobby "hey, you used a fantasia here, wanna do the editing now or later?" and if you say later, it just asks you the next time you pick that character :/

BUT, the HW is right up the corner so better wait if you can wait =-=a

THE Problem for me here is, I'm actually waiting to Server Transfer my legacy character to the server my 2.0 is on. . . but server transfer allows you to name change, and I don't want to do it until I have Au ri naming conventions.

pretty sure you have to buy a name change to change your name. Unless the world you going to have your name already.

Just to be clear, does this include if we were planning on using the Fantasia that comes with the collector's edition ? Because I was under the impression that we won't receive any collector's edition rewards until the 23rd.

won't get CE stuff till the 23rd. will only get the EA items in the mail during EA

That's what he meant, create a character of the same name on the aimed server and here you got your free name change !

I was about to ask how long you have to actually use change. This is good to know, I'll be traveling Tues-Thursday, so using the item Monday to flag my account and waiting until Friday morning sounds great.

I was hoping we'd get a free phantasia, since well....new race. Kinda sux if we need to pay to use it, or make new char; i see no reason to make an Au'ra alt..
On a side-note: 25euro for 5 phantasia? that's as much as the game costs....

You get a free Fantasia if you buy the Collectors Edition of the expansion.Though I think they said we won't receive it till the official day of the expansion, along with all the other goodies.

Its been a long time since Ive used a phantasia but iirc.. You cant be wearing gear when you initiate the change so if you use one in advance make sure you log out naked as well or youll have to get on and strip yourself anyway.

My guess is that Early Access code works like a temporary VIP Game Code, if not there would be no reason for us to even enter Ishgard.
But, that's just my own view of it.

Early Access Code - what we have registrated.

Core Heavensward Code - comes on release day (patch notes say no Au Ra untill this code is entered)

Don't think that's what he meant. Problem is, if they allow people to change their race to au'ra during the early access and those people cancel their pre-order those people would have to change their race again, right? which would cause problems..so to not cause such problems it seems SE made it not possible for early access users to change their race to Au'ra until they entered the heavensward key. at least thats how I understand what Evergray is talking 'bout.

what? of course you can cancel your pre order if you ordered at stores like amazon/gamestop/whatever. Not everyone bought digital from square or physical from the SE shop.
And the Early Access keys still work from amazon, even if you canceled the pre order.

If you are playing in EA then you can no longer cancel. You are told that before you enter your codes rou received by email from SE.

I'm 99% sure everyone who is accessing EA will already have been charged. Would be interested to hear otherwise though. I also assume the EA code will allow you to change to Au Ra... if not, yes that is strange.

Hmm, if that's what happened, then it would also mean that those with early access couldn't access new jobs as well? Since if they have access to the new jobs and cancelled, then it would cause problem? And along with level cap increase as well?

SE still has yet to charge me, lol. My order was NA Digital version. Already input the early access code in mog station and now has the early access status in the account. Hope nothing went wrong with the transaction though since I still able to buy crysta with the same creditcard with no problem.

I just try to interpret what Evergrey/Kassatsu meant. Also, I read about a few people who ordered the game on amazon got the pre order code 5 minutes later and canceled their pre order but the key does work and they used it. Their reasoning was that they want to see the new areas before they really buy it..

Honestly, I hope and think that SE will let us change everything. But really any discussion is useless about this topic. we need a mod to just tell us how it will be on friday.

but hey, my Collector's Edition status changed to "prepare for shipment", that is all that counts for me right now >>

I can confirm that you do not get a pre order code right away from Amazon. While in the past people were able to do things like that you no longer can. I pre ordered from Amazon months ago and I never got a code. Finally I found out that they are not giving their codes out until the 19th. I didn't want to wait that long to enter mine so I ended up canceling my order and just buying it through the SE store.

I found this little bit in the patch notes also though near the very top...
