Sales have been beyond pitiful, either it sells for give away prices or it doesn't sell at all. Too many people are holding onto their money, the 19th needs to hurry and get here so I can get rich. :cool:

I'm confused..

I have every crafter and gather level 50 and nothing is selling unless I give it away. And once the expansion gets here people will be buying like crazy for insane prices and I plan on getting rich. Because I am going to level my gathers and crafters to 60 before I level my adventure classes.

I think the OP is referring to the fact that the markets across most servers have completely crashed in the run up to the expansion.

I caved in about bought all the forager gear now, even though there will be better stuff in a couple of weeks. That is just me being weird though. Yes when I try to sell stuff, it can be hard. I will put leveling crafters to 60 near the top of the to-do list, but I still want to get at least one combat class there first while completing the mains scenario.

Money's relatively useless at the moment. I have 15 million (I know that's not a lot) that's just collecting dust because I have nothing to spend it on.

Alot of people are not going to bother buying new stuff when in less than 3weeks time it will become outdated. At this point it may be best for you to just focus on gathering shards/clusters/crystals and demi materias/materias, etc. Stuff that always sells no matter what and hoard it until HW. Once it releases folks will probably start buying it in droves to catch up their crafts, etc.

I'm actually not sure how practical it's going to be for those that want to level their crafting or gathering classes first to be honest. With flight and a multitude of other features locked behind story progression you may find yourselves forced to level a combat job first via the story before you can easily access everything you need for the non-combat classes.

Well folks...and thus is the reason why the very crappy VERTICAL PROGRESSION design used in this game, the fact that even Yoshi P has said he does not want crafted gear to be better or equal to raid gear, and the very lack of various ways to acquire good gear and materials is the some of the reasons why the markets are dead.
There's no making money on a market full of 5+ patches old stuff. So yeah, you better get your craft levels and gear to max now.

Allow me to translate. His goods in the in-game market aren't selling, and he feels it's because people are waiting for the expansion, so he wants the expansion pre-release (which is the 19th) to hurry up and get here.

The MB on my server is still pretty active. I'm not selling endgame crafter gear though, which is probably why my stuff is still selling. I can't see most people wasting gil on level 50 gear when the expansion is going to destroy the current cap for players who are active in adventuring......
