Dev request: can we please have an 50% exp bonus for 30 and below?

When the expansion drops can we please have a vender in the first city in Ishgard that sells a ring headgear that gives a 50% bonus to any class thats 30 and below? When people return to the game everyone is going to want jump on the expansion asap, and no one is going to want to level cross classes from level 1 to 30+.

You already have a 50% xp boost for lower level jobs...

recruit a friend and get the +20% exp hedgear that work on all classes below lv 25

SE would not put an item into a NPC shop that work better than the recruit reward or that can combine with the recruit reward to get +75% exp.

your right. Maybe if it was a headgear.

I really don't see any need for this it's not hard to level 1-50 as it is & levelling people fast won't let them into Ishgarde any faster as they need to complete 2.0's storyline anyway before they can enter.

But it only takes 2 or 3 days to get to 50 as it is ^-^;;;; Many people lvled Ninja that quickly on my server.

There are SO many ways to get bonus experience:
Hunting log
Challenge log
Guild quests
+3% exp food costs 4 gil each
Daily exp bonuses on a range of things in DF
+Exp potions from your grand company
Resting experience bonus from logging out in town/camp

And that is all on top of the already large amounts of experience you receive from running dungeons, which by the way is very valuable because you learn how to play your job while doing them!

Really? 2.0 through 2.55 is half a day of content? I'd like you to please support that with evidence.

As to the topic, I don't know about an item that just gives you more exp. I'd like to see quest exp rewards increased in ARR content to help people get through it a little quicker and with maybe a little less grinding. We're launching an expansion now, so I think it's ok if a brand new player doesn't have to spend months getting through old content.

They're buffing the exp from the quests for new characters by about 2x and possibly baseline gear added, and first timers will be put in a priority queue to get into things with the DF faster. (probably because of all the people that will be leveling the new jobs saturating the queues for required story dungeons/trials.)

Will help new characters level pretty fast to get the armoury bonus for cross classes.

Not sure if everything will be buffed or just the quests itself.

There was a time where leveling a new job had no bonus exp.
People then got mad and asked for 50%.
The devs agreed and gave them 50%, everyone was happy.
After a while, people got mad and asked for another 50%.

What kind of 'evidence' would you like? Or are you just being snarky. If a person is trying to jump/rush through the quests to reach Ishgard, they aren't concerned about dialogue or lore. Hence rushing.
2.55 is more robust questload than average for MSQ, but it is also doable within 2-3 hours if you "rush" it.

It's not hard to already get well over a 200% xp boost already. When you toss in chained xp and food as well, you can get up close to 300% easily.

You already have the easy button, they don't need to give you a switch that takes to max level right away.

Why do people feel the need to rail against this when nobody has asked for it.

Also chained exp? Seriously? Basically every method of gaining exp is better than grinding mobs in the open world. Pretty much all of them.

Chained exp is not limited to open world combat.

You get the chained exp bonus whenever your party kills a mob with an equal or higher level than you and you gain XP. It does happen in dungeon.

It is already stupidly easy to level additional jobs as it is. You get a 50% bonus all the way up to like level 45 or so JUST because you have that first job leveled--somewhere in the last few levels it drops to like 20%. Then there is rested bonus. Food bonus. Moogle cap and such that give that extra bit at the start. Leves, fates, dungeons. And EVERY time you chain enough mobs of appropriate level you get chained exp bonus on top of that--it even applies to gathering as well. Oh yeah.. and let's not forget the challenge log and your hunt logs as well. You can get your first 10 levels in virtually one sitting without ever stopping to upgrade your gear. Think the last time I started a new job I got 6 levels just working my way from one Central Than entrance to the other one.

Experience point gain is the LEAST of our problems.

So yes... asking for an already extremely easy process to be made even easier by an additional 50% at this point should be scrutinized at the very least.

The problem is mostly 1-15 if you burned all your side quests. That still takes a while. Afterwards you can just ride dungeons to 50 if you want.

Why do you even have levels when you have a story quest you must do?

I would remove levels entirely from the game. They don't need to be in story MMOs. You get better gear by going through the story.

The story rewards don't reward left sided items, furthermore, they don't give you full sets. Dungeons are the way to go, hence leveling.

You shouldn't need to level. You have to do the dungeons from the story anyway and you need gear from dungeons to progress through the story. Thus levels are pointless for the game with a well designed story like FFXIV. You still need to do the dungeons.

You can remove levels and give low level dungeons unique appearance gear that you can glamour and also give them special materia's as well.

Story quests do give you a lot of gil, which you can use to buy left sided items. Of course if they are rich they can buy the best ones on the market. However I doubt a new player could do that.

Leveling is just a dying and stupid archaic system popularized by an MMO which hates its customers.


However, since its not going away. I think it should be faster.

It is entirely possible to level a job just with MSQ and required dungeons, with level appropriate side quests tossed in.

I've gotten to level 30 on one account ONLY doing the MSQ and class quests, never repeating any content. (I've had to supplement that with some leves and guildhests, though.)

if i am understanding your post right, im assuming you think the new jobs are starting at lvl 1. they arent.

LOL no, 1-50 takes 2 weeks for a casual playing 4 hrs a day avg and that's with the fumbling you do while following storyline around the first time and not unlocking dungeons until you're almost too high to use the gear it drops. Logging out in an inn gives a small bonus but overall the average is about 2 weeks of getting to know you time for any new player. It still doesn't go far enough since players are not immediately schooled in how the game economy actually works so making gil the first time around can be a challenge on your own. Now SE stated the leveling from 50-60 will take as long as the leveling from 1-50 so figure again the casual running storyline and quests will take about 2 weeks for the run from 50 - 60 nobody needs a boost the leveling experience is already brief enough for anybody starting up.

You do the story only once with the character. and you only get the exp from the quests for your current class/job, not for every class/job.

SE could change it how it was in 1.0
Remove job levels, give them ranks
Give the character an own level, that don't change with every class/job switch.
Doing quests require a class/job at a specific rank
