Au Ra tail poll

I'm so torn over what tail to go with personally for my Au Ra and wanted to see what others were thinking so I made a poll! It's something we'll see all the time while playing so we gotta get it just right. :D

I personally like the fat tail. I like the emphasis that I do have a tail. Pretty big too. Want to seeeeee?

Nice idea, I was leaning toward spiky female tail but looking at how popular it is I might swap to skinny female tail just to feel a bit more like a special snowflake lulz.

I am using the first tail...the spiky one reminds me of a creepy insect tail :( whenever I see it move I shudder haha yuck

It's ok. No one ever does. But in all seriousness, I made a few Au'Ras to see how how they match. If I made a big character, I usually went with a thick tail. My shorter character got the small skinny tail. I feel their body and tail should be proportioned. My opinion obviously.

No love for the gator tails. :')

For me, the male skinny tail (1).
Visually the tail has to blend into the look of my character and the larger ones just seem a bit too overemphasized and slightly disproportionate compared to how and where they are attached to the body. Also the larger the tail, the more potential clipping issues and I really dislike clipping.
While the spikey tail is the most popular, I am not a fan. First off, it angles too sharply near the end, where the last animation rig joint is, which makes it look awkward to me. Also, it just looks potentially uncomfortable, like you would constantly get poked by the spines on it while moving about, and trying to sit or lay down.
At least that is how I feel about the tails.

Seems I'm going with the majority, female tail with spikes. I don't mind that though. ^^

I'm using the spiky female tail because it's the only one that seems dragon like. The one like Yugri looks like a rat tail or a worm and the fat one has that weird thinness near the base.

Wow and personally I thought the spiky tail was ugly....

I figured the spikey tail would be the most popular for the sheer fact that it was the longest. But something about it throws me off... It's too skinny. And from a standpoint of lore/practicality, it could easily get caught on things and bitten/ripped off. It's fine on a shut-in Raen, but on a roaming fighter Xaela? RIP.

I personally will be going for the, uh, 'fat' and/or 'gator' tails.

I like the female spiky tail the most, but when I look at it in the benchmark something about it just seems mildly jerky and not as fluid as others, not sure what it is or if Im just seeing things, so Im actually going with the skinny tail.

Wow spiky is really popular. I always like option one the skinny tail.

Going to check the spiky out to see if its really good or something.

If anything it's an extra weapon for a Xaela. :>

The side spike do look a bit fragile to stab with, but the end one looks up to the job, if not a little blunt, and I imagine the side spikes could be used as a slashing weapon if the tail is whipped round with enough power. They kinda look flexible enough not to break off (hopefully).

Yea I am liking tail 1 still, because I am making a Raen and want her to look like a pretty princess, not have a spiky weapon behind. Tail 1 has its advantages too if you were cuddling with another person in bed no worries about stabbing them with your tail.

Yeah, I think someone in another thread said they were going with option one so their friends could play with it. :) Then I immediately thought of how the spikey tail could play with them hehe.

What do you say when someone says, "I really like your tail can I touch it?"

Depends who they are I guess. A complete stranger has no chance. I like my private space irl, so this may come across in game. I may jokingly offer to introduce them to the pointy end.

If it's someone I know then I'd probably let them after teasing them a bit.

The big dragon type tail with the big horns represents a more mature Au Ra :), I love the combo for my character ^^.

I prefer tail option 4 mainly cause it doesn't do the Thin > thick > Thin weirdness that the other 3 options do, and that it's the longest tail. Personally I think the Au Ra tails need to be longer as well. At least down to the ankles anyway.
