MOD or DEV response appreciated but I welcome players theories as well.
Is there gonna be a CE upgrade like there was for ARR after the game goes live?

If there isn't, I will post a video of me writing each of these words onto slips of paper and eating them.
I've been waiting for the 'Digital CE Upgrade' since they released pricing, and it was listed as "TBD"...
And its really late in the process for them to be implementing it.
One can dream... but its frustrating to say the least
I dont think there will be, ARR was a unique situation.
I think they said that there was going to be o.o Sadly I can't find the source, but I feel like they mentioned it in one of the recent video thingies.
Yep I agree with those who say there will be, especially with kyuven's post about the extra cash for SE (Square-Enix) when they do.
I don't see why not, it's a way for them to make a little more money off it.
They did say that there will be an option to upgrade to digital CE. Go check one of the summaries of the liveletter.
That's as of March 14th in the Letter from the Producer LIVE - Special Edition Digest thread. If they ever did get back with those "further details", though, I must have missed it.
Welp, that settles it and proves me wrong. Sorry, I just didnt understand why someone would buy a standard edition then upgrade to a collectors edition. why wouldnt you just get the CE in the first place? Oh well. more options for those who need it... Hope the PS3, PS4, Steam preorders come soon. I'm guessing either the 2nd or the 9th. that should still be enough time to do what needs to be done.
There are several reasons. Some people just enjoy having a physical memento, but aren't interested in collecting extra items they don't want. In this case, some may want a physical copy of the standard edition just to have a box and a disc, while also desiring the digital perks that come from the collector's edition, yet not being interested in the statue. An upgrade path is perfect for that.
There are also those that may simply change their mind and desire an upgrade as their enjoyment of the game increases, or even as their finances allow an expanded purchase. Again, an upgrade path is perfect for those as well.
I guess there is also cost. People might only have the money for the standard but by next payday have enough for the upgrade. Just because I didnt see the point to it doesnt mean the need isnt there. I support it and I'm glad people have the options. Now, if only we could actually have the land to buy a house and could reduce the RMT's but buying an expansion comes first ;) (/cheeky comments off)
