There are a lot of threads addressing this problem or that, but what all needs to be done (for you) to make this game "perfect?" List as much or as little that needs to be done for you to be happy with this game for an extended period of time.

Lalafell falafels.
They should put FFXI in FFXIV so I can play FFXI while I'm playing FFXIV.
That almost happened.
The ideal would be enabling you to play with your friends in either XI or XIV as you so choose. Tanaka even states there was an initial plan to add a new door to the Mog House that would exit into Eorzea, much like a portal to a new dimension. However, the technical hurdles involved in accomplishing such a feat were too much to overcome.

On Topic: Ishgard, chocobos, airships and low-level NMs I can kill on my own.
Tough acts to follow.
- A dynamic world system that players could change
- Player built housing
- Player built cities
- Dynamic mobs which migrated etc
- Beastmen tribes/Garlean Empire troops that set up encampments and threatened the world in an ever-changing way
- Goal-oriented content without gear-grind and level-grind being the final goal
- Jump, Climb, Swim
- A graphics engine that could actually render water properly
- A UI with drag-and-drop functionality, and chat boxes which could be dragged and merged with others or separated into their own
- LS/company features such as leaving messages for members to see, heirarchical structures, /kick, etc
- Airship battles (both PvE and PvP)
- Player owned airships
- Naval Warfare
- Dungeons that required puzzle-solving elements instead of Zerging monsters
- Monsters that weren't just stats
- Non-targeting combat where positioning and reaction times mattered
- Being able to build and place crafting tables like the ones in the guilds in our own homes to improve crafting of certain items
- Having pet moogles
- Chocobo raising/taming
- Armoured Chocobos
- Chocobo combat, jousts
- Dangerous areas where outlaws and Pkers dwell, where looting opponents is possible
- Ishgard
- Quests that aren't just crap/WoW-fests
- Voiced over cutscenes
- Voiced-over everything
- More emotes
- Being able to summon Paragons like Ifrit / Shiva etc
- Being able to use the power of The Echo to actively solve puzzles and understand the people around you and their histories.
1) Challenging Material that is not soloable
2) Challenging Material that is Soloable
3) Something that makes the player base party throughout the game, so I can play outside LS event time.
4) Content that requires me to work for something
5) Enough content where it takes me over 5yrs to complete the game
If they can accomplish these 5 things, the game will be perfect.
A vast reduction of the gear damage effect.
Npc to be able to repair said gear to 100% (Craft only players control way too much anyway)
Auction House.
Vast improvements to the battle system, i want to feel like i have a role, not just spam my best dmg moves.
Remove the passive and active modes, just let me click on something to kill it.
Rotate my camera using the directional keys.
A better chat log.
Content in terms of events, i.e. Assault, besieged type things, things that make you think and can offer a variety of scenarios to keep you on your feet.
Some nicely planned out PvP with incentive, actual server wide tournaments, 1vs1, or group vs group.
A level restriction on armour, this gives more incentive to advance your character imo.
Beastmaster.
And im sure many more, that i can't think of right now.
Challenging quests. All of the ones that i have done had little to no challenge
I'm talking about class quests and main story quests. I haven't done any of the new quests from patch 1.16, but most people say they're too easy
challenging quest, house i can decorate, maybe like a card game or something, more hamlets and public quest style things
Oh my, here goes.......
-A menu based, 9999999x more responsive ui.
-Full keyboard/mouse support, with full custimization.
-A better chat window.
-Class uniqueness. Even if this means removing the current system completely.
-Faster, more fluid combat. I want my own reflexes to be my limit on combat response, not waiting for slow animations.
-Every targeting options thinking, implimented. (mouseover actions being my favorite)
-Open world notorious monsters with unique loot.
-Instanced dungeons requiring teamwork to complete.
-Class uniqueness, again.
-Gear stats larger. The pirate hat in the game, gives 3 str 3dex if I remember right. 3 stats at level cap? Give me the same effect but make it at least 30, so I feel like its actually an upgrade from my eyepatch (2str 2dex).
-I would like an auction house, just because I don't thinkt he market ward system can support a very large playerbase (10,000 retainers loading in a single ward sounds like a nightmare). I alsy think the idea of an auction house that is not only linked across all cities, but across all servers would be a neat idea as well.
-Unique zones where the copy/pasted terrain wasn't as easy to notice.
-Jump/swim
-As someone mentioned before, chocobos, armored chocobos, airships, maybe even player owned airships that could be based on some ingame rank that had to be earned (airship requiring a very high rank).
-A more unique look and feel to campsites.
I"m sure there is more, but those are just off the top of my head.
*Sorry for the grammar errors, I was on the phone not paying much attention =/*
