easiest hardmodes?

I just got my WHM to 50 yesterday and I've done the quests that open most of the hard modes but... I'm really nervous. XD I was watching videos to see the differences between HM and normals, and learned they're completely new dungeons.

So I decided to do this in "baby steps" and ask which ones you think are the easiest to heal for a brand spanking new healer who hasn't done any of them. Well, I did do the Moggle King HM. That was a bit painful. Took three tries to get those ones dead. Maybe that's why I'm so shy. XDD! I know I'm being a wimp.

They are all pretty easy these days. Keep in mind some of the strategies may have changed over time from what the videos say so be prepared to adapt on the fly.

Titan is by far the most difficult of all of them.

It's very likely that the King Moggle Mog wipes weren't your fault. I'm presuming everyone died to a big attack in the 2nd phase (this is what usually happens). Mog will do the Memento Moogle attack when his HP reaches a certain threshold (around 60% iirc) and that attack will one shot everyone if not enough small moogles are dead before it goes off (I think you need no more than 3 alive). More than likely your tank or the DPS were pushing his HP too low before enough moogles had been killed and you can't heal through a one shot.

I'm not certain what the cause of the wipes were but this seems the best answers. First phase was fine and things were going well. Then one of the BLMs died and once he was alive again, we all were magically dead. XD~

I would say Garuda is easies

Garuda > Ramuh > Ifrit > Moogle > Titan > Levi

Simple because levi has multiple knockoff points where as titan is easier to dodge

Also for healing I would say the same due to number of people taking simultaneous damage and the amount.

If anything, Levi teaches you the most when it comes to healing itself and healing while dealing with mechanics. And I'm not going to tell you why either :P (I suggest others not to as well, please)

Identifying mechanics and reaching out for your healing game for certain encounters is part of your job as a healer. I'm practically tossing you into a trial by fire (no, not ifrit), but you'll find self-learning methods more rewarding/practical than copying what others are doing/saying. That is, till you run into real trouble and really have no idea how to handle it.

If you want to test your mettle at one point, solo heal Leviathan EX

Only reason y titan and levi were hard back in the days ( and still is for some ppl ) is cuz u can get knocked off from a mistake or a small lag spike etc.
Once ur out ur out for good lol

Imo titan hard is still the hardest cuz the landslides will rekt anyone if they r not careful.

You can't get knocked off on Levi HM.

I'd argue that Titan still presents a fair challenge for a newbie healer. Learning the script takes time, and the mechanics put pressure on the healers, making them more likely to make mistakes. I remember healing in Darklight days, my stomach dropped when I first saw the table flip XD The music also, so intense!

Garuda, Ifrit, and Ramuh should provide a lower key challenge, with less danger of falling behind in healing.

Well, in that sense all fights are hard, when the newbie healer still has to learn the fight/mechanics/rotation. Even without learning the rotation you can dodge landslides fairly easily. One of the main reasons why healers fall off due to landslide would be that they're trying to finish their current spell - aside from the usual "omg lag" anyway. Probably combined with some heavy tunnelvisioning on the party list too.

And +1 on the music. TIIIIITAAAAAAAAN

I just did Ifrit hard. It wasn't so bad. Wiped once but I think that was because no one was interrupting. The buff made it much easier. It was certainly easier than Moogle-heaven. LOL.

Ifrit, after you do it like.. twice is faceroll content. Garuda is pathetic because she's farmed so often. She can take like 10 minutes? Titan is nerve racking at first but once you get to know the fight he becomes super easy. Levi is super easy since you can't get knocked off (though boring as hell)... And Ramuh is pretty easy if DPS follow mechanics.

Shiva is.. Shiva. I don't know. She has a lot of AoEs and stuff but she's easy.

Hmmmmm.... easiest hardmode dungeons....
I'm not sure, since most tanks like to pull crazy, these days, and I'm not sure what you're comfortable with - or your strengths/weaknesses.

WHat I can do, though, is give you a list of the HM dungeons and what I think of them - things I usually encounter while doing them (what I think you may find difficult or easy). I think you can decide from there -

*Explodes a crap-ton of text*
Copperbell HM - It's similar to original Copperbell, to a degree. This one takes a bit of coordination because yes, you can still wipe to bosses (the bombs in the first boss, for instance) if tunnel vision sets in. I honestly haven't run this dungeon with many pugs (mainly FC for relic grind) so I'm a little set in one method. I HAVE seen and experienced pugs pull everything to the end of the bridge - which gets systematically burned - to grab ADD spawns and bombs that spawn towards the end of the bridge, so the tank doesn't have to keep moving the boss. Pre-boss, some tanks will run with ADDs in the beginning and the ADDs just kinda stop following after a while o_O (which is new to me, in dungeons). The bosses aren't that bad, but the second boss is annoying and a bit painfully slow. >_> The main damage he takes is via bombs that users pick up and place (it looks hilarious, to me). Otherwise player given damage is a bit minimal till the spriggin is de-mounted of his golem. Pulls aren't really that heavy, that I remember.

Brayflox HM - Tanks like to mass pull here, and you'll have bomb AoEs tossed at you for the first half of the map (kind of like the goblin hest) in the mean time. Keep mobile and light of foot for that. THe last boss can sometimes cause trouble if the party either a.) Doesn't push the bomb masses away fast or far enough - someoe gettign caught in the super fast indicated bomb radius will get a hell of a hit. b.) The GIANT single bomb isn't DPSed and destroyed before it explodes.
It's generally heavy pulls and the last boss. First two bosses are a little bit of snoozers.

Haukke HM - I.... honestly rarely go in here o.oa

Halatali HM - Fairly interesting dungeon. Be wary of traps of slamming metal balls from the ceiling - tanks often use these to position monsters under so they take extra damage. Not difficult to see but if you're not watching where you're going you might find yourself running under one. Bosses are easy but take payign attention. The first boss is liek Chimera in Cutters, in that you watch till the eyes change color (Red, I believe?) - then you hit the globe everyone is stationed at and all is peachy. Second boss is a bit like Garuda EX's Spiny or KoTL's randomly dropping in ADD - when the boss starts charging a particular attack, a lever has to be hit, then run to the moving mammet for shielding. Last boss is a lala with a summon. When someone is chained, someone has to go to the rod to unchain them before the person dies. I keep finding people ignoring this, lately...
Mob pullage on average isn't bad. Theres some spots - like with the areas with the caged bears, tanks will grab everything available.

Stone Vigil HM - Like NM theres a LOT wandering the halls. Mobbage can be high here, and Aevis' AoE unavoidable damage should be watched out for (I usually start casting Medica after seeing them starting to cast - they start flapping their wings and stop attacking - this is an indication they will do that AoE very very soon. I usually let them flap for two seconds, then start pre-casting so that the party is medica'd immediately after the roar. It's very easy to accidently pull patrolling mobs here.
Last bosses are my favorite, though <3 They have no indicators and have no hate table. They just do any shit they want at anyone they want. A lot of it is having to do with payign attention to the bosses body language and position (starts with one, but a clone comes in). As a caster/healer, it's best to just keep a distance and not stick around long if one is facing your direction, even if it is focused on someone else. They do charge and spit attacks that you might get caught in. Best to stay to their sides or rear from a distance.
Pulls can be big here.

Tam Tara HM - Large pulls, easy as hell bosses.... the pulls can easily be the real test, not the bosses. Because some mobs have constantly spawning mini ADDs and aetherial blast spheres floating about, the pull count can be high. Watch your MP.
A lot of lore scattered around in here, though, through ripped pages/letters if you're interested in it. Unfortunately, the parties rarely wait up (best to ask if you could read them all, first thing, thoguh.... maybe your party might be easy going about it).

Sastasha HM - Big pulls. First boss, keep on top of esunas. This a big deal for this fight. Second boss is a DPS check - be aware of the crawly ADDs and don't get trapped by them (like Pharos). THird boss is just long z_z and annoying z_z but not a big deal.
The biggest deal you'll come across here are the big pulls, the second boss because of the sheer amount of ADDs that come out towards the end and the captains gunshots being able to kill in three shots after a few rotations of the gun rotation. It's almost impossible to keep up healing later in the fight, when he uses his gun.
Worst case is the last room before the last boss. Majority of parties wipe if the tank is stupid and pulls all the way up to the end. And they do. >_>
I also haven't' been in there in a long time, though.

Qarn HM - ANother with big pulls as common practice. I've seen tanks pull a mob to a staircase, then ask DPS to open the sliding wall so they can collect MORE mob and station them over the spikes. Spot before last boss is another big pull area.
Last boss, keep on top of where you see the sarcophigi popping up. You don't want to crossed by mummies more than three times.

Wanderer's Palace HM - More big pulls, especially from one sacred standard mob to another mob in another Sacred standard. Tanks need to pull them out of the glowing purple goo so sometimes they grab one mob and keep running, through the next mob in another sacred standard in another hall and then finally settle in to tank (so two mobs in one). I find myself medica IIing in these bosses a lot because of how random all three of them can be. They often turn around and just slap a random DPS (or you) without regard to enmity. Doom debuffs need to be healed to full HP to be rid of.
I find the last boss can be a little bit of an MP drain...

Amdapor HM - The pulls aren't that bad, actually. A lot of things get int he way to make too big of pulls. There's only maybe one spot int he beginning.
Boss-wise.... Be aware of Anchag's lightning targeting or he'll hurt you more than you can heal. Boogeyman is no biggie. The room right before Ferdiad is a huge DPS race. Be ready to help DPS as much as possible! I like to get super aggressive here - throwing regen one myself + tank + medica II (so I don't have to worry about dropping DPS and healing too often) and slap Holy and SoS like doomsday coming..... because it kind of is if things aren't killed fast enough.
Ferdiad can be similar on the DPS race when it comes to when people are stuck in goop/superation. Keep in mind you can still attack/heal while you're in the goo - except for the last type. And also.......... there will be a point where two people will be caught in supperation and one ADD will be out. I find it best if you kill the ADD first and THEN get people out of the supperations - killing the ADD will stop his castign AoE from getting bigger and then taking up the entire floor (and will cause a wipe).


Coils...
T1-4 are easy. T4 is just laughable.
T1 - The first boss can be a little bit of a shock if you're new, but everything is easy otherwise. I remember feeling overwhelmed at the last boss, curing both tanks while not as geared as I am now, but...... so easy, these days. Only real wipes are if people stand ont he glowing platforms too long and slimes asplode. Also if tanks do a sac run and die/spill adds near the golem (or just don't know where to go)
T2 - Disco time! Not a fan to do over and over again (and some know I like to spam runs/trials I find fun), but can be fun... Most groups wait for the enrage timer. THe hard part is keeping up with the spammed AoE damage, based on your party (which means spamming healing AOE, more often than not o_O)
T3 - Meh. Not at all hard if people aren't stupid. But the last times I went in, people were stupid. Be aware that while you're jumping level to level, adds will just drop out of nowhere and drop in on your party...because they WILL follow you to the ends of the earth if they're ignored. -_- This makes it difficult if people are mob training through the entire deal. Keep up with the party and make sure you hit the pads corrcetly... or you will get lost.
T4 - ......so easy, it's silly. A mob spawns. it's burned. A mob spawns. It's burned. A mob spawns... etc. THats it. THen everyone runs away home.
T5 - Best to create a PF learning party for Twintania. The first time you down her, everything seems to click into place and she's cake. ..... as long as people understand fireball, conflag and twisters. I use stone I to slow the Deathknight ADDs towards the end of the fight. THey will bind someone, then kill on contact.
T6 - kinda annoying and need to be fast on the eat marker mechanic >_>; If Raffl-mao eats too many peeps/gets too many stacks, at some point, you might as well just wipe.
T7 - Easy... if people would pay attention to their debuffs and where they're aiming them. -_-; Super important to pay attention. *Twitch*
T8 - (I actually haven't been in here, yet o_oa)
T9 - Learning party or static (or like I now recently have, a loose LS for clearing/progression), definitely. From here up, I would suggest having learning parties or a group to practice with.

Primals...
Ifrit - Easy peasy. Just pay attention
Garuda - easy z.z people steamroll her
Titan - Sometimes it's one shot, sometimes it's not.... it can be stressful on new healers. For a logn time, Titan HM was my total nemesis. Now he's whatever.
Ramuh - Easy... if people kill ADDs and shock terrorized people out of stun.
Levi - I hate Levi. :| You can't fall off, but I hate how slow I personally am to catch the water spout indications (which is more important in Levi EX).

Raids....
LotA - Easy z.z Only really King Behemoth is a challenge. THough BOne Dragon is still easy to wipe at if people aren't paying attention (....myself included)
ST - Lately, most people burn bosses before their first main mechanic can go off.
WoD - World of Derp. That is all. *twitchtwitchtwitch*

Haukke Manor HM is probably the second easiest HM dungeon when it goes right. Brayflox HM is the easiest.

Haukke Manor HM has large pulls, usually, so you need to be on your toes. Especially in the basement final stretch, most Tanks pull most all the mobs to the boss door. Some of the hall ways have "exploding" walls, so watch out for that.

The first boss heavily relies on DPS burning him down, if they are too weak they need to switch and deal with adds quickly or else they will over run you. Usually he only lasts like 5ish minutes though. Dodge the ice circles as well. This fight can be healing intensive but it usually goes quickly.

The second boss has more AoE dodging, a lot of lines and moving. He's similar too the first boss in that he's basically tank and spank with a few adds and a lot of moving. He does however hit harder, and if someone gets hit my AoEs it can go south for them fast (Heavy is a b*tch). Just dodge and heal. Way less adds in this fight, but way more things to dodge and pay attention too. Like the spinning scythes of death.

The final boss is a bit of a puzzle. She summons specific adds at specific percentages of her health, and they need to be burned down quickly because after a time (or a an amount of damage to her) the Boss will "eat" them and deal large damage to the party. Basically, if the Adds aren't at 1 hp by the time they are "eaten" low geared allies will probably die. Just stay away from her and heal.

And of course, if you are comfortable with it you can help make things go quicker by helping with DPS.

These are all very accurate lol. World of Derp has been so bad lately.

Of the three ST is the easiest, no questions asked. Everything is burned down so fast, especially the second boss, I haven't seen some mechanics in ages.

WoD is hell most of the time due to poor mechanics through out the alliance. Its as if people can't grasp WoD at all, even though if everyone does it well its easier than LotA.

I really enjoy it so I play through it every so often just for funsies.

I also hate when people ask what they have t do on bosses there, but for a different reason. Explaining the bosses can get really confusing (like most places) but for some reason HM HM(lol) just ends up confusing people more than usually and you end up wiping. Its not hard, just A LOT of different things to remember and its really easy to forget about them (like the monsters that come out of the weird doors in the one hallway).
