The only world with restriction =/

Hey, I have 3 friends that would like to start playing with me . The only problem is all my characters are on gilgamesh since A realm reborn launch so I can't transfer and lose all my other friends there. Do you guys think the realm will be unlocked soon? I heard that's the most populated server at this moment.

Your best bet is going to be to have them try to get online during a lull. Usually, around 5-8am Eastern Time on a weekday is the most likely time to be able to slip through.

That said, since there's a queue to connect almost 24-7 now, I wouldn't hold my breath.

Don't listen to Gwen, she's crazy. What you need to do is appease the Gods of SE who hold the keys to the servers by sacrificing a baby kitten in the first light of the full moon this month. Moon phases are a big to do with SE when it comes to getting anything done right. That and the weather which in this case should be 3 parts rain 1 part cloud. Oh and need I forget to be facing North by Northeast. Wait, did you say FFXIV? Oh then yeah, you probably just need to get online in the early morning. Trust me if I keep getting in-game RMT spam then there are new characters being created.

I just got back in to Gilgamesh yesterday with a new toon. Here is what I did (on ps4):

1. Search Lodestone on the Gilgamesh server for what name you want for your character, so you can have it ready to go.
2. Create toon with character creation.
3. Wait on the screen where you can choose your server, and hit the refresh button every three minutes. I did this 11:30pm CST until about 2:45am.

Yes. It will take some perseverance and patience. The character creation screen gives a more up-to-date refresh on the server statistics than the Lodestone (which is only updated every 4 hours).

Tell your friends I said good luck! Personally, I think its worth it to spend a day even two or three to play the game with real friends. Makes a difference.

I happened to be making a new character at around 3 AM PST recently and gilgamesh was open. They have to create in that time period to get in.

I was able to make a character on Gilgamesh at 6 AM EST last Saturday morning. :D

All of you are referring to the same time just in different time zones. Try checking anywhere between 3:00am PST- 5:00am PST ( 6:00am EST - 8:00am EST)

The best time to try is right before maint. Even if you are in the intro cutscenes and dc your character is saved on that server. In fact the NA areas are having maint tonight, and while we apparently will be able to play there may be quite a few dcs. Perfect time to try.

The expensive option is to have them create characters on a less populated server and pay to transfer over.
