Purchasing EU heavensward outside EU

Im sure there have been threads about this before but googling around i could not find a proper answer.

I am currently staying in Malaysia, but i am holding a EU account which i created when i was in UK for work. I have so far been able to renew subscription, upgrade to CE previously and even purchase optional items.

Then comes the Heavensward digital edition. I can see it at the store but once i try to purchase i get the invalid region error.

I am wondering has there been any proper instruction for us which are in regions that blocked. I am fine with paying the prices in euro currency.

Getting told to register a new account for my own region by the Customer Service, i would like to just ask what is Malaysia under anyway? We only have 3 regions for the game which are NA, EU and JP. And i also do not wish to abandon my character which i have been playing since 2013... Anybody know any solutions that can help?

To be fair if you're playing fine with and have been able to do transactions with an EU account I'd assume you'd be fine with an EU version of Heavensward it shouldn't really make a difference.

I asked my husband to be sure and he said you'd be safer buying the EU version.

Thing is, I do want to buy the EU version but the store does not let me !

Try using another online retailer like greenmangaming.com they are generally very good and very reliable.

GMG also locks you by region unfortunately, other retailers are only able to provide the cdkey 1-2 days after heavensward released. I guess if nothing really works i gotta wait longer for the patch. Shame thou that SE locks their store by region when the accounts are already following that... At least they should let old players order.

You might need to use a VPN to purchase off GMG.

Have you tried Amazon.co.uk or something similar and bought the Digital Version? That should give you an EU copy. Make sure to ask before hand though, I could be wrong here.

I don't know if it works, nor if it is authorized, but wouldn't using a VPN with a server in an european country fix that ?

Try amazon (EU? UK?)? I'm in indonesia atm using US account and have the same problem as you when it comes to giving SE my money. Been buying game time cards at exorbitant exchange rates but I've since found out that I can buy the gtcs from amazon US using my indonesian credit cards. Also have some credit there which I might be able to use to order the digital version there.

I'm using that as a 2nd option though. Right now waiting for a friend in the FC to get paid so he can buy it for me from the SE store in exchange of me buying something else for him digitally. Kinda roundabout way but they did say amazon gives the preorder/early access codes on the day of early access which I want to avoid if possible.

Just tried with my colleague who was in the UK this week, They would not accept a billing address outside of europe even with valid delivery addresses in the UK... so even the plan of getting a friend to order from the UK didnt work... sigh -_- why is SE so troublesome with something that should not be !!

Try using a VPN set as Australia. Someone I know made it work.

But the price is insane, the CE digital cost like S$80.

I am living in Thailand, and I am able to use my credit card on se website though. Indonesia is also in south east asia, right? I'm not sure why it wouldn't work for you.

But earlier though (like when 2.0 just went live), I wasn't able to use my credit card on se website at all, has to resort to ultimateplay > paypal to buy crysta. Just about recently after they removed ultimateplay, somehow I was able to use my credit card to purchase crysta directly then(doesn't work with paypal though).

Do you need a NA Heavensward? right now I have a NA one but my account is EU. I have been looking for someone to trade it for an EU one or to sell it and ask a friend to buy the EU one for me since I can't buy it because I live in america :/ If you are interested you can get an EU copy and we can trade it, is collector Edition though. you can mail me at lauris848@gmail.com

Cd key sites tend to sell region keys. There are a few reputable ones out there.
